I went in with long hair down to my butt, requesting long layers, but I ended up with shoulder-length hair that is choppy and uneven. My daughter's hair, which was also long, had the same disappointing results. This was a terrible haircut experience. I wouldn't recommend this place for layered cuts; I'm not sure they can even cut a straight line at this point.

I’ve never felt worse about myself after a salon visit than I did at JCPenney Hair Salon. After not getting my hair done in over a year, I finally went in, only to walk out looking and feeling like a disaster. I paid over $100 for a haircut and color that were absolutely ruined. My hair was already in rough shape with dead ends, but it looks so much worse now. The cut is awful—she didn’t even double check what length I wanted before cutting, and now it’s way too short. I honestly look like Lord Farquaad from Shrek, except that might be an improvement. I asked for brown hair and somehow ended up with bright orange! My roots are a transparent orange mess, and the stylist tried to convince me it would get better as it “oxidized.” It hasn’t. It’s only gotten worse. People are coming up to me asking if I meant to dye my hair like this, and they’re shocked when I tell them I actually paid for it. In hindsight, I should never have paid, but I was so overwhelmed at the time. This experience has wrecked my self-confidence—I’m avoiding social situations, staying home when possible, and hiding under hats until I can get my hair fixed. Buyer beware. This salon should not be in business.

Guys, don't get your hair cut by a tall man, he presses very hard on your head when he touches it with the clipper, he just rips your hair out of your head, the clipper can't keep up with the movement of his hand, he moves it sharply over your head, unpleasant movements from his hands, it's unprofessional on his part. I'm very disappointed, then when he offered to wash my hair he started scratching my head with his nails, I'm generally shocked by such behavior of the hairdresser.

Just recently received a hairdo for my locs. And how it came out was horrible! Was retwisted too tight, and the style I ask for was not what I received. I ask for barrel roll with braids. I look in the mirror and noticed that the parts that was sectioned for my hair was uneven! The right side has 3 parts sectioned (barrel roll) while the left side has one huge section. I had to take the left part out and resection it correctly. Plus how the locs was braided was horrible! Instead of doing multiple sections to accommodate all of the locs, it was rushed and bunched together into 4. I paid 55$ + 25$(style) = 70$ for this atrocity. Never again! Now I have to fixed it at home to make it look decent. Yet that was the hairstylist job. 🤦🏾‍♀️

I've been going here regularly for years. Always a good experience. Made my appointed for May 15 a week or two in advance. When I got there, they were double booked. I felt a little ignored, sitting around waiting, and then decided to leave without getting my hair done.

Jimmy was amazing. My hair was long, dry, and overdue for a cut. He gave me the exact cut I wanted. He discussed some options for shampoos and conditioners for my type of curly hair. Found an amazing brand that smells so good and does wonders on my hair. I would totally recommend Jimmy. He was a blast to converse with while he did amazing things to my hair. THANK YOU JIMMY!!!

Ok so I came here years back and I had a regular experience. Nothing to crazy. I came today 06/16 and when I tell you guys save your money please listen to me. I walked out very unhappy. First of the way this lady did my hair was like my baby sister was doing my hair. She’s was not taking her time sectioning and properly straightening it. Then she will leave my hair all over my face and when she was blow drying she will pass it only once like girl I have curly hair you need to pass it!!! She was in a rush. Idk who gave this lady her license but no she does not give a ***k. Ugh please don’t go here I’m never coming here again.

Went here about 1 yr. ago. I walked in got a wash and hair cut. I must say it was fast, wanted a Bob but walked out with a very short one. The place is clean and the woman upfront was nice and again for a walk in, it went fast. Would I go again yes. Tried other places and so far instyle is better. Will return. I gave it a 4 star cause, it needed to see more updated styles.

After speaking to Cynthia about the style I was looking for I was scheduled an appointment with Lisa for a wave nouveau, I was told that Lisa had vast experience in cutting, styling, color and other processes however what I experienced in July 2021 was a nightmare, Lisa was not vastly experienced in the wave nouveau process she put me under the dryer several times which is not required with this process she also colored my hair at the same time as the wave nouveau BIG MISTAKE, I was very displeased with the entire process and unfortunately for me there was no manager in the salon or readily available at the time to oversee these processes, I'm in my 50's and have been getting my hair professionally done since I was 10 and I've never experienced anything as mortifying as this, needless to say my hair started shedding portions of my hair was straight and other portions was curly imagine what that looked like, I was desperate for help so I went back and allowed KeKe to try and remedy Lisa's mess, I was told that Lisa oversteps just to make the money but Is not qualified to do certain processes she ignores that fact because she's money hungry, I had healthy natural hair before I met Lisa my hair was so severely damaged after these processes that I had to get my hair cut to the scalp, bald, I was in disbelief CUSTOMERS BEWARE YOU MAY BE LED TO BELIEVE THE SAME THING.

Don’t waste your money here. Not inclusive at all. Sized me up and down, Turned me away at the door in the middle of the day saying they didn’t know how to do a simple cut.. They’re either unskilled and shouldn’t be doing hair or just ignorant and lazy. Either way, it’s a sh*t show.

Got Scheduled with Kadeesha on a sleepy Sunday afternoon to apply a color to my dead bleached hair. She used the Matrix semipermanent and we went darker more natural color. I cannot explain the level Of shine my hair is experiencing. She did an amazing blowout with a straightener finish and I’m just shocked. The hair is full and strong and shiny and I can’t wait for it to grow so I can visit again!!! If you’ve got dry or damaged hair you MUST schedule Kadeesha. She’s truly an angel ( and she didn’t talk my ear off either so it was truly a pleasurable experience!!) The place is clinic clean and spotless and the spacing is perfect. Awesome and worth my payment!!!

Angel is amazing!! She’s the only person I trust with my hair. I had been to many others before she fixed my blonde and even after moving out of state I make sure to plan my trips to Orlando according to my hair schedule. She’s totally worth the trip!!

Bad bad bad experience!!!! My mom went there to do a keratine treatment ( not her first time doing a treatment like that) They damaged my moms hair, and her hair started falling !! We went and talked to them and they tried to put the blame on my mom that she did something before the treatment that they did for her! Unprofessional!! We went there at 3 pm and the manager wasnt there to talk and help us solve the issue, which i find unprofessional for a salon ! We gave them our phone number, to call us when the manager is there, they told us she will call, and she never did ! Customer care is really bad here!! I recommend you go to Ulta where they will take care of you better ! Me and my mom are never going there again ! (Talking to the salon manager ) SHE WAS BAD ! I am shocked of how low and unprofessional she was ... i went to talk to her face to face, and she was bad from the start ! She gave me an attitude from the beginning when i tried to complain about my issue and try to see how to solve it ! She tried to manipulate the situation and act like i was crazy for complaining! She didnt let me speak, she kept cutting me off, and she was treating me like i was a 5 year old girl. She lied about what i said to another guy who worked there, so they can kick me out of the store ! She said things to him that i didnt say ! So rude and i swear never going there again !!! I recommend to never waste your money here ! Go to another professional place who will treat you better !

I always go to JCPenney salon and get great results. The Saturday before Christmas I went here for the first time and left in in tears. The completely butchered my hair. The cut and color are horrific. The lady doing it was so stand-offish it made the whole 5 hour deal so uncomfortable. As soon as she was done she didn’t say a word, just walked up to the register and spoke to another lady. The other lady was Alina and she immediately said to me “you still have to pay but you can see the manger for a refund. We can’t get ahold of her right now”. They knew they messed up. When I expressed that I did not feel comfortable paying $170 for a completely unacceptable result of what I asked for they called JCPenney management who then called loss prevention on me! The man with a security badges came and blocked the door and flirted with girls until I eventually “agreed” to pay a discounted $95 and left in tears! I contacted the store manger the next day and she agreed to fix my hair so I drove all the way back there a few days later for her to tell me the only thing she’d do is dye it all black! She justified that decision by saying I already received a discount so I didn’t pay enough for her service to actually fix it (lighten it like it was suppose to be from the beginning). She belittled me and treated me terrible. As a mom of four I rarely spend money on myself and this once in a blue moon I decided to I came out looking worse than I went in and was treated like garbage on top of that. I’ve contacted corporate so far has done absolutely nothing!!

I got a cut here recently by Tonya(Tanja) and it was the best haircut I've had in over 6 years. She took her time and listened to what I wanted. Jcp salon earned a new client. "Update" 4-20-19. I just received another great Bob haircut by Tanja. Book with her if you haven't found that special stylist yet.

I have been a very happy and satisfied customer of this salon for the past 10 years. My (our) hair stylist Tanja has become a very dear friend to my entire family. She is skilled, knowledgeable, and friendly. I see her regularly for haircuts and colors. She also does great with kids cuts and is very patient with both of my sons. Over the years she has also cut and colored family members hair while they are in town visiting us. The entire salon staff is friendly, the salon is very clean too. I always recommend Tanja and the JCP Salon when the given the opportunity. I am a customer for life - keep up the great work JCP Salon!
