I went in to get a gloss with Natalie. I was so excited- I am a newly postpartum working mom, and finding an opportunity to do something for myself is incredibly rare. I knew this, so was careful to choose the stylist I felt would handle my hair best. I was so disappointed that the stylist I carefully chose, Natalie, was not present for the majority of my appointment. We consulted for a few short minutes in the beginning and she mixed my color, but it was applied by an assistant and I was blown out by her assistant, Jocie (who was lovely!). In fact, I did not see Natalie again following our two-minute consultation. After Jocie blew out a few strands of hair, I asked to adjust the tone darker. Jocie re-applied the color and gave me my blowout. Natalie was not present throughout any of this and did not come over to ask if I was pleased with the color in the end. I literally did not see her again, except for walking back from the shampoo bowl where I saw her working on another client (during my appointment time). She was also not particularly friendly. I echo what others have commented about the colorists/stylists being unfriendly, or kind of stuck up? I left feeling both totally neglected and disappointed. I wrote to the salon to give them an opportunity to rectify the situation. I wrote that I did not have time to return to the salon for an appointment (due to the aforementioned circumstances), but would accept a gift credit or refund to use for future use. Apparently, this is not doable. Wild, given I did not receive the service I wanted, nor from the stylist I chose. The only positive of my experience was meeting Charlie Love, the new COO. Lovely person. Seriously, go elsewhere. This place is all marketing, no substance.

Sooo happy with my service! Mariah is a gem, always knows exactly what I want whether it’s a natural or fashion color. My hair feels soft and silky even though it’s color treated. Jake did my blowout and honestly… top 3 blowouts of my life! So bouncy and beautiful

hair cut was ok but was treated horribly here. They only like "certain" people and are not kind to all customers. I asked the stylist while i was sitting in the chair for colorist recommendation and she look at the colorist next to her and the girl shook her head "no" while she was doing another womans hair.. they then giggled. it was epitome of mean girl and I am paying and expected to tip. which I did. She said she could recommend someone who wasn't in that day. it was clear they didn't want me as a client. it was a very snobby and unfriendly environment. I am writing this anon and after reading the other negative reviews it seems as though if you are not an influencer you will be treated differently.

I really love this place :) JP came highly recommended by my LA stylist, and he truly is the best. He keeps my waist-length hair incredibly healthy, even with my blonde color requests! His assistant, Ricky, is fantastic and so attentive. I recently had a cut with Nylza, and she did a phenomenal job as well. Plus, I love the music and the vibes. I leave here beyond happy every time!

JPH is THE place to go for amazing color in NYC - Julie has been doing my glosses and highlights for a couple of years, and I leave so happy every time. She just get it! Highly recommend! 🖤

Had a great cut with Joe who managed to totally fix a pretty dire bang situation from another salon. He was so sweet and sensitive and also taught me how to blow out my bangs at home which has honestly been life changing! Two weeks later and it’s growing out perfectly, can’t recommend enough.

I typically don’t leave negative reviews, but after reading another review that echoed my own experience, I felt it important to share mine. While this may have been an isolated incident, and perhaps the stylist was having a bad day, my visit with Jessica G. was disappointing. I had done extensive research on extensions and felt confident that Jessica was the right person to see. Although she was running late, that didn’t bother me—I’m a physician and understand how appointments can sometimes run behind. However, when I was seated in the chair for my consult, the initial greeting was cold and uncomfortable. Jessica appeared annoyed, didn’t introduce herself, and didn’t ask how I was doing. When I greeted her, she barely responded, which made the interaction feel tense and unwelcoming. The “consultation” was extremely brief, lasting only about two minutes, and I left feeling confused and dismissed. There was no discussion about the process, what to expect, or any details regarding the extension installation. I was fully prepared to invest significantly in the service, but I left feeling as though she didn’t want my business at all. I couldn’t help but wonder if I would have been treated differently if I was an influencer / someone she found worthy of her time. The interesting thing is that I care for some celebs/influencers as part of my practice, but I make it a point to treat all my patients with the same level of respect and care. That said, the front desk staff, her assistant, and even the salon dog were lovely. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I will likely be canceling the installation appointment. I hope this was an off day for Jessica, but regardless, making a client feel unwelcome is never acceptable.

Jenna has built a team of gems! Rodrigo gave me a fantastic cut and the entire staff was so kind and welcoming. The space is beautiful and has the best vibe. Could not recommend more! Thank you!!

Front desk team was so kind. You immediately fall into a peaceful groove when entering the studio from the playlist to the art and design and florals. It was my first time seeing Joe for a haircut and I trusted him from the moment I sat in the chair. Impeccable technique and so thorough. Just trust and go see Joe! Styled my hair so fresh and was just the experience I needed. Thank you JPH team!!! I feel amazing :)

Rodrigo did such a beautiful, thoughtful, and artistic job at cutting my hair in a manner that truly accentuates my bone structure. He was so thorough and meticulous down to the last strand of hair—-taking pride in his work and making sure everything was immaculate. In addition to all the technical praises he deserves, I should also add that he was such a delight to talk with. I will absolutely be booking with him again next time I’m in town. Thank you!

!!! Chilly water in the studio !!! Overall my experience with Jenna Perry Hair studio was good. But this time an unpleasant aftertaste has been left. It happened that there is no warm water in the salon or maybe it was just one chair with very cold water that I’ve been lucky to be seated in. I think receptionists or customer service staff knew about the situation with water and should have informed their customers about that and given an option to reschedule the appointment. So unless you enjoy cold showers, check if this issue has been addressed.

I agree with Eli’s review from a few months back, and am glad she left it. I, too, have held off on reviewing this salon hoping subsequent visits would improve. However, they continually serve up lackluster customer service—not only with the stylists, but also the undertrained front desk staff. I also had an unfortunate experience with Julie, and did not feel management made an adequate resolution. I went to Suite Caroline afterwards, and was given advice that conflicted with this salon (Suite Caroline insisted I come back in 4-6 weeks because too much damage had been done to my hair.) I followed their advice and am very happy with their skilled work. Glad I could find professionals in the city that I can trust, and who have better knowledge on hair health + color. Plus, SC were all-around more helpful, warm, and thoughtful! Avoid this business: There are better high-end, fashion-forward salons within a mile radius that are worth investing your time and money in.

Every haircut I've gotten from Jessica in the last 4 years has been the best haircut of my life. Literally. She has a gift; could cut the best layers you've ever seen with her eyes closed and one hand behind her back. Jess wants every client to feel their very best getting out of her chair. Worth the hype & more.

Had a fabulous cut and blowout with Tom, preceded by a soothing scalp massage during the hair wash (I think the assistant’s name was Chloe). Everyone was super friendly, the salon is beautiful and I left feeling glamorous and pampered. Also, the products Jenna recommended for my natural hair were spot-on; a great team!

Having frequented Jenna Perry Hair Salon several times, I am well aware of its reputation, which is heavily influenced by influencer marketing. These endorsements suggest a level of premium service akin to what I've experienced in top salons in London and Paris or Berlin. However, each visit has fallen short of those standards, culminating in my most recent disappointing experience. During this visit, while pregnant, I requested specific hair treatments: no scalp colour application and limited chemical use. The staff's reaction to these requests was one of confusion, a stark contrast to the professionalism I'm accustomed to elsewhere. The stylist, Julie, made several critical errors: 1. She didn’t let the colour develop sufficiently. 2. She neglected to check the colour before rinsing. 3. She inadequately applied colour to the ends of my gray hair, focusing only on the roots. These oversights resulted in an uneven and blotchy appearance, with the roots well covered but the lengths poorly attended to. I’m still struggling with this (after 5 months) as it will take ages to grow out and can be seen all over my head not just in 1-2 places. My concerns were met with a dismissive response, blaming my decision to skip the gloss treatment, which doesn’t contain colour. This contradicted previous advice and did not justify the uneven coverage, plus it was never mentioned during my visit that I need to apply the gloss to get proper coverage. Similar issues have been noted by other customers. While the salon offered a redo, it was not a feasible option for me, given my pregnancy and the desire to minimize chemical exposure. Additionally, the cost and inconvenience of traveling to the salon, coupled with their lack of a refund or apology, only added to my frustration. I will not be returning to Jenna Perry Hair Salon and would caution others based on my experiences.

I emailed the salon to get matched and arrange a consult with a stylist for color. Day of service was just a bit neglected and left at the sink. Assistant did do the majority, and maybe even all of the work. My scalp did end up burning and peeling. Regardless of that they tried to root blend several times and I still ended up with a strip about an inch from my scalp that was not the same shade as anything else on my head. I emailed the salon they advised me to go to the clinic and to keep them updated. Kindly replying to the response from the salon. I rejected the offer to make things right after reaching out twice about THE SECOND DEGREE BURN ON MY SCALP. I am not going to take you up on an offer to do better when It was only considered after a one star review. Mistakes happen, this review was not for the color. I had made another appointment to continue and try a second because everyone deserves second chances. This one star review is solely for the lack of taking responsibility for causing me injury, not because my head wasn’t one color. I am noting that I have still not received one email back from the salon regarding the second degree burn since they told me to see a doctor and it still healing.

I love getting my hair done here! Jordan cuts my curly hair so meticulously it air dries perfectly. I see Julie for a sun kissed glow on my dark brown hair. The staff is super friendly and vibes so good I feel like I’m hanging out at my friend’s apartment.

I love this salon! I go to Julie for double processes and she always gets my hair to the exact color I want without causing any unnecessary damage. I couldn’t recommend this place & Julie enough. I’ve also gone to Tom for haircuts and he is wonderful / gave me the perfect haircut. I’m so glad I found Jenna Perry Hair!!

I’ve been getting my color done with Julie for a couple years now and I have never felt better about my hair. She is a true artist and truly knows her craft. She gets the color exactly right every time and it always evolves beautifully until my next appointment. She is an expert on knowing how colors will change after many washes and days in the sun and knows perfect color placement for hair to grow out between appointments. I’m always getting compliments after I see her. Aside from that, she is a joy to be around :). Great, positive energy! Tom is absolutely amazing at cuts! Would recommend him to anyone. I can be super picky about my hair, but he always exceeds expectations (and gives incredible blow outs).

I’ve been having trouble finding a great stylist in NYC for years and just had a haircut with Tom today. By far the best stylist I’ve had and I will continue to go to!! I have fine curly hair and it’s hard finding a stylist who understands and works great with my texture as I like to blow it out at times as well. Tom was AMAZING and I left feeling refreshed and with some new product recommendations. 100000% recommend Tom!!! 👏👏🤩

Jess has been doing my extensions for 2+ years and I can say without hyperbole that its the best hair of my life -- Would never go anywhere else unless I absolutely had to. Her cuts + styling are next level. My boyfriend always asks what I did differently when I leave the salon. Jess for life.

Stephanie Clark is the best! I used to get foil highlights and thought that was the only way to achieve the look I wanted. Now, Stephanie hand paints my hair and it's never looked better. My hair is healthier, I only have to go every four months-ish (and I could wait longer), and she matches my blonde to my features/undertone perfectly. I like when my highlights go to the root, and Stephanie somehow manages to do that while making sure that the highlights grow out seamlessly. I am so grateful I found her before my wedding next year. Couldn't recommend Stephanie and JPH more highly <3

The best hair salon in NYC. I started going to JPH 3 years ago and haven’t looked back since. I’ve worked with a few different stylists for cuts and glosses. Everyone is kind and incredibly talented. The environment is relaxing and products are divine. Can’t recommend enough!
