This beautiful, professional studio in the heart of BR is such a retreat for those needing some self-care, lite maintenance, or a whole new lease on life. The incredibly talented and experienced Brien Buxton takes the very best care of me and always leaves me walking out with a smile and a full heart. Everyone needs ‘their person’ when it comes to a stylist and designer. Brien has been mine for the last 20 years! He is a breath of fresh air and brings inspiration and loving care to his every client. He takes the time to really listen, be present, and see beyond the hair of his clients, relating to where they are and what they need when they sit in his studio chair. I cannot recommend this studio and my person enough. I’m so grateful for the gift of this special connection - I hope it inspires others to find their beloved stylist too :)

I’ve been seeing Ken for the last few months. I have short hair, which some people can be scared to cut. Ken does a great job! His highlights were awesome too! I highly recommend!

Such a bad service!!!!!!! I had an appointment for 2:30PM and they called me and rescheduled me tor 4:30PM. When I made it at 4:30PM, they told me I had 2:30PM appointment and I didn't make it for that. I showed them how they called me and rescheduled me but they had no other solution for me! I had a proof of them calling me back to reschedule. Very bad service. Before making appointments with them, make sure you ask them twice about it and they don't turn you down like they did with me

I am a long time client of JKL Salon. The whole staff is wonderful! Very talented, professional and friendly. They have been very conscience during these times. I have never felt it was unsafe. And I love their new location.

I do not know what these crazy one star reviewers are thinking. The owners Janie and Ken are wonderful people who treated me like family as soon as I walked through the door. My usual barber shop went out of business due to Covid and I decided to give JKL a try. Janie cut my hair and its great. They wore their masks the entire time so the complaints about that are totally and utterly false. Will defiantly be back.

I have been going to jkl for approximately 15 years and would not ever go anywhere else. I feel right at home with staff and each one is very professional and easy going at the same time. Ken and Janie are both from New Orleans and bring that fun and creative personality with them. Ken does my coloring and Janie does my cut and they are incredible.

Janie and Ken are fabulous master stylist and work hard to accommodate their clients. I have going to JKL for over 10 years, started my so. And daughter in law there and they never disappoint! The atmosphere is always fun and the staff make you feel welcomed and happy that you are there. Visit their new location on Perkins Road, absolutely tranquil.

Janie has cut my hair for many years. I’m never disappointed. Even when I’ve wanted to change the style I can leave it up to her what will look best. She and Ken are welcoming and make you feel at home. Salon is always clean and tidy. Highly recommend!

Not a safe place, and aggressive owner. Don't risk it. Yesterday, I overheard my office mate call to the owner to request he put on a mask to service her 78 year old compromised mother, who was in the waiting area at the salon. He refused, told her it was his constitutional right not to, then he hung up on her and went over the 78 year old waiting patiently for her appointment, and promptly kicked her out. It is not the first time this owner was not wearing a mask either. He has been reported.

The owner of this business (Ken) threw out an elderly woman today (with health problems) because her and her daughters requested that the hair stylist wear a face mask! This is unprofessional and a dangerous business!

They don't all wear masks here. Even after the governor ordered it. Wife has gone here for years, but never again after how she was treated by the manager when she asked him to wear a mask. It is not safe here. Will be reporting them...

This is a wonderful salon. Janie and Ken go out of their way to accommodate every request I make. Ken is the best colorist in the city and I have gone to many. Janie gives me the best cut! I am never kept waiting when I arrive for an appointment and everyone makes me feel welcome. It is nice to have consistency and quality with every visit.

I recently moved to Baton Rouge and tried several salons. I was so pleased when my previous stylist in Portland, Oregon recommended JKL Salon. Ken is great with my color and Janie has found a way to tame my thick course hair and make it look great even in the Louisiana humidity. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. I almost never give reviews but I highly recommend JKL Salon
