I’ve been a loyal client at Joanna Vargas since 2023 and have booked an appointment every month since my very first visit. Every experience has been nothing short of amazing! Rebecca, my facialist, is absolutely fantastic—her expertise and attention to detail make each treatment both effective and relaxing. The Oxygen Purifying Facial leaves my skin feeling incredibly refreshed and glowing, while the Microcurrent treatment has noticeably helped tone and lift my skin. I love the microcurrent facials @ Joanna Vargas. Definitely helps improve the facial contour, tone the skin, and reduce wrinkles. You get that natural noninvasive lift. Also recommend the light therapy. It has multiple anti-aging benefits. It increases levels of collagen and elastin in the body. It also help mprove the appearance and health of the skin. However, while effective, these beds require frequent use to maintain results.

Good experience during treatment but left with skin damage and did not receive a response to my email inquiry. Below is the email that I sent and followed up on 2x. I did not receive a response. --- Hi – I came to the Joanna Vargas salon on Sunday, December 15 for an oxygen purifying facial. We did a number of extractions across my T zone for congested pores, as well as milia removals under my eyes. Having done many facials with extractions and milia removal before, I was not surprised to see that my skin was red afterwards in the extraction areas. However, it has now been over two days since the facial, and I am seeing dark spots on my forehead, which indicates that the redness has already receded and these are semi-permanent spots that will take months to lighten back to my original skin tone. More importantly, there are two spots where I had milia removed that continue to be extremely red and with no noticeable change in healing progress. Meanwhile, the other milia removal spot has fully healed. This is certainly abnormal based on my typical experience, and based on the inconsistent healing progress, leads me to believe something wrong occurred during some of the extractions. I’m still feeling pain and had I known this would have happened, I would have not asked for the extractions given I am now worse off than previously. See attached for photos of the areas mentioned. Spots are darker in person than captured in photos due to lighting, selfie quality, etc. Please advise.

I look forward to my appointments here with both Olivia and Laura, who are both incredibly kind, thorough, and have done wonders to improve my skin over the last 2 years. The products are also wonderful! The triple oxygen facial keeps my pores clean and skin refined. The microdermabrasion on every session makes a huge difference in the texture of my skin.

The Oxygen facial treatment is my go to at JV. It instantly improves the tone and texture of the skin. It can take dull skin to radiant and is even better 48 hours after treatment. I immediately feel lighter and brighter after the relaxing treatment. I’ve been a client in NYC and LA and for an instant lift, microcurrent is one of the essentials. It lifts after one treatment and all services here are the complete package. Recommend asking the aesthetician what is best for you and everything can be customized. I never leave reviews, but JV gets results and is always a reliable experience worth the investment.

I have been a long-time customer of Joanna Vargas, and I cannot recommend the salon highly enough. Joanna has assembled a terrific team of aestheticians. It's a gorgeous space in a very convenient midtown location. The salon offers a wide variety of services and also offers one of the best lines of skincare products I have ever encountered. The Triple Crown Facial is amazing. Microcurrent and LED Light Therapy are two of my favorite modalities. Treat yourself to a JV treatment. You deserve it.

Beautiful salon and facilities, well-designed facials that are constantly evolving and focus on the latest technology. However, use caution when purchasing their packages. The esthetician is a core part of the experience. Unfortunately, there is significant turnover and I have rotated through four estheticians (together with at least another four that weren't a good fit) over the years. I made a choice to leave after developing a relationship with yet another who left. When I reached out, they adhered to their strict refund policy, despite being a loyal customer and converting massage credits when they no longer offered the service.

I’ve been going to Joanna Vargas for over two years, and I can’t overstate how much I love this spa. The estheticians, especially Sadie, whom I see regularly, along with Stella and Layvelle, are fantastic and always so friendly. Every time I visit, I feel completely pampered, and my skin is glowing when I leave. My skin has never looked better, and their package deals are amazing! I highly recommend making Joanna Vargas your go-to monthly spa.

Sadie is amazing with her techniques! I’ve enjoyed both the Supernova and Triple Crown treatments—they were relaxing and made my skin glow. I even recommended my husband, and he had great results with tighter pores. Highly recommend!

Layvelle at Joanna Vargas Salon gave me the best facial I’ve ever had. Her amazing touch, use of high-tech machines, and focus on soothing and hydrating my sensitive dry skin made the experience incredible. My skin felt amazing afterwards and my skin was lifted & glowing for a week! So happy with the results, I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend Layvelle—she’s a true talent!

Great services, staff and communication. My skin has made a definite change for the better just after a few regular facials. I never really thought it was bad, but now I know it's in the way to great. The texture is different, really can tell the difference. Even with the pricey services they still do a medium to hard upsell of products or services. Have to say, that can cheapen the experience a bit, but it can also open you up to new products or services. So, it's up to you and very easy to turn down the regular upsells. I would suspect that's why this is a successful company, that and the obvious talent of their staff. I would say 100% worth it, believe the hype.

Deanna Was not great. Overall facial was waste of $$ sheet mask I can do myself at home. 1st time ever I noticed no difference in my face after a facial. Don’t waste your $$$ Overall one of the worst facials. I will not recommend to anyone or come back. Idk how celebrities go to this place. It’s not true at all.

For your own peace of mind do not purchase a package here. The estheticians are lovely, but should yours move on to a better work environment…. No refunds. (That’s what they say despite me knowing first hand of several they have even recently issued). Unfortunately I was sold a package for a specific esthetician that is no longer with the establishment. They did this to keep my business but were not transparent about the terms. Despite me having in writing the package was to maintain pricing with a specific esthetician they have constantly refused a refund only replying back with their blanket refund policy (in the form of a single photo by their register and was not mentioned during the time of purchase). For all technicality, I did reach out within days of me learning my esthetician was leaving which falls within the refund window. Talking with management has been worse than talking to an AI bot. Same copy and paste response in nearly every email. Also, the bed light is grossly over priced and management is abismal. ($150 for a 20 minute session… there are places far less for the exact same thing). There are better salons in NYC. If you find an esthetician here you like, great! I did too. But do yourself a favor and pay as you go. The package savings are not worth it and the work environment is not as chipper as they front.

I always leave my facial with my skin glowing and get so many compliments!! She has been doing my facials getting me prepped for my wedding and my skin looks incredible. I got an Oxygen Purifying Facial today and WOW! loveeed it. I got a great extraction with Rebeca who applied the right amount of pressure with little to no discomfort despite my congested skin. It was a very nice fee cleanse with a great mini massage around the neck area that I still can’t get over. After the extractions I got cryo therapy that helped calm my skin from redness and reduce inflammation. Overall I need to book another appointment ASAP. Wonderful staff and great environment to relax
