Amanda is my absolute favorite. She is able to get more done in one appointment than anyone I’ve seen at different salons. Everyone at John James is very friendly and attentive and my appointments generally run on time. So glad I found this salon and anytime I try to go to a different salon if I can’t get in with Amanda I’m disappointed by my results. Well worth getting on the books

I get my hair done with Megan and she’s lovely! I’m super picky about my hair and use to travel to northern VA to someone I loved but now that I found Megan I can stay local! I love that she is helping me keep my hair blonde and healthy while growing it out. Everyone is so friendly here too.

I recently started to have MJ do my nails. I’ve been to several other places, but she is by far the BEST!!! She has done both a mani and pedi for me and she is wonderful! MJ is very professional and does an amazing job. Every time I get my nails done I get so many compliments and the most positive comments. I would highly recommend coming to see her!!!

Michelle is fantastic every time I go in to get my hair cut! She’s super nice and gives me the exact haircut I want. Last time I came in I had a new idea for my hairstyle and she worked with me, asked me questions, even showed me some hair products for styling, and at the end I got the cut I wanted. Truly a professional and would highly recommend going to see her.

Patrick is absolutely amazing! Not only is he incredibly skilled at his craft, but he’s also one of the kindest people you’ll meet. Every haircut I’ve had with him has been perfect, he pays attention to every detail and really listens to what you want. His talent and passion for what he does show in the results. Plus, he makes the whole experience enjoyable with his warm and friendly attitude. I had an appointment with Lisa about a month ago whom I have known for years and is wonderful; I was having full highlights. These comments are not about Lisa that I recommend highly but of the owner of the salon. When I was all done I went to pay with my visa credit card and was told I could not put Lisa’s tip on the card…what? Secondly I was charged 6% for even using my visa to pay my bill…..really? They did not want to have to pay visa that 6% so let’s charge the client. Never, I mean never in a salon, a store, anywhere I use my visa have I been asked to pay the fee to visa. The icing on the cake was…..wait for it…..they have an atm in the salon that I had to use my debit card to give Lisa her tip and I incurred a $3.50 fee for using the atm. Lastly when I called prior to find out how much full highlights with a cut and blow dry cost I was told $144 which I thought was reasonable. Turns out that cost was only the highlights and the cut and blow dry was another $55! Then add 6% for using my visa….$3.50 for the atm then tax. I was in total frozen shock and speechless unfortunately because in hindsight I would have said “no I am not paying 6% and yes you will put the tip on it as well.” So be warned. In all I have to say this was the most unclassy experience I have ever had in any salon in my entire life. I will not be back.

After going to the same salon for many years I wanted to change to a salon closer to my home . I have been to this salon twice and I will not be going back . I have short fine hair that I have had cut in a longish pixie for a while now . When I made my first appointment the receptionist assured me that the stylist had lots of experience with short hair. My first cut was okay . The stylist was 15 minutes late and did not apologize for the delay . I was also not impressed by the " dress code " . Some of the staff looked like they had just rolled out of bed which did not inspire confidence . The shampoo was very basic , seemed like the shampoo girl couldn't wait to be done . The actual cut was reasonable except for the fact that the stylist kept criticizing my previous stylist . Since I was fine with the product I scheduled a second visit. my second visit was about 3 weeks ago . Once again the stylist was late and I also to had wait quite a while for the shampoo . Initially my cut looked ok , probably helped by a ton of styling product and hairspray. Sometimes it can take a while for my hair to "settle in " with a new style but after about a week and a half my hair looked a mess . It become apparent that the cut was uneven and it would not hold its shape at all . There are pieces of hair that stick out every where and it will not adhere to side part that I have had for years. i called yesterday to express my displeasure . All I go was a sorry and we can schedule you with a different stylist next time . Not good enough. In the past when i have had issues with cuts I have always been offered a " fix " free of charge .
