i’m starting off with, the haircut and dye job wasn’t bad at all, i’m actually pretty content with how it turned out but, it’s not at all what i asked for. i had asked for my dead ends to be cut off and layers added. all i got was the ends off and some face framing. i showed pictures of exactly what i wanted and was ready to show the stylist again if she had asked but, she only looked at them once, which was a bit odd to me because every other stylist had asked to see the pictures multiple times to make sure i got what i wanted. and i had also asked for black hair and blue CHUNKY highlights. i wasn’t sure how complicated that would be for her to do as i have never gotten them before but, what i got was very thin strips of blue that don’t even reach the ends of my hair, they’re only really visible at the top. once again, im not saying that the haircut and dye job i got is bad, but i would just wish that i got what i had asked for. EDIT: and, personally i think they overcharged for the service i got but, im not an expert so it really could have been worth $300 but, i don’t think so at the moment.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had my first experience at JoyLaina Beauty Studio in Brookswood, and it was fantastic! Amy was exceptional—she listened carefully to what I wanted and delivered beyond my expectations. The atmosphere in the salon is warm and welcoming, making the entire experience enjoyable. I left feeling great about my hair, and I will definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!

I was so scared to leave my eyebrow lady in Vancouver when moving to Langley but finding Chandan has been the best. Total babe inside and out and I love my eyebrows. Only been twice but will be going back for sure.

I had an incredible experience at this hair salon! Carol did an amazing job with my haircut; I absolutely loved it! She took the time to understand exactly what I wanted and styled my hair just the way I liked. Her attention to detail and expertise were impressive. The salon itself is trendy and pleasant, creating a relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere. The staff was friendly and welcoming, making me feel right at home during my visit. There seemed to be a schedule confusion on the morning of my daughter's wedding. Only one hairdresser for 3 of us. My hair looked great as the MotB, the MoH's hair looked good. The bride came home in tears and we just re-did it ourselves.

Was here recently in preparation for a special event. I was very disappointed with my hair and the stylist did not sound like she cared to hear. The salon is over priced for the service provided, I am sure Supercuts would have done a better job for quarter the price. My pictures from my event don’t look good because of the hair which sucks. I definitely don’t recommend this place.

Updated review: (Read below before booking or pre-booking an appointment) I got a reminder call today (at 3:45pm on a Saturday) from the receptionist to let me know of an appointment at 4:45pm on Monday (which was pre-booked in September, I got this call in December-3 months later). I proceed to tell her that I have to cancel as I have been working 6 days for the past 3 months and that I wouldn't be able to make it. I also mentioned that because she called me at 3:45pm on Saturday, that I would like to cancel as it's before 48 hours to the appointment.. to which she says "No!! you HAVE to pay 50% of the bill. It's not 48 hours and you NEVER cancelled. I'm telling you what I'm told (yikes, so someone told you to scam me??)"... (Mind you, I never got the reminder email that I requested a while ago, rather than a phone call). I wish you'd have someone who could do easy math up at the front, especially if she's taking payments. If you are looking for a cancellation payment at least call the customer AFTER the 48 hours has passed if you want to collect the 50% payment of their bill (not sure if she is genuinely not smart or she was trying to scale me, honestly I don't know?? I'll leave that up to your interpretation). She kept putting me on hold (3 to 4 times) after talking to me.. probably because she's unaware of what to say or do?? To me that shows how unprofessional she is or how clueless she is. Thankfully, Carol (If you're looking for a hairdresser, she is amazing!) took over the phone call (Thank God!) and said that I didn't have to pay anything and that she would cancel it as it was still before 48 hours.. I'd love to go back but honestly idk right now.. This was a strange experience IMO. I'm not saying they aren't a good place to go to, I just wouldn't trust the receptionist, she sounds like she's lacking some common sense... that's all.

Best body wax! Honey did a great job, she was professional, efficient and friendly. I got the full Brazilian wax and it was quick and easy. I also got my haircut there 2 weeks ago by Brittany, and I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking for body waxing and haircuts. The studio is modern and clean and the staff is lovely and professional.

Had my first trim at JoyLaina yesterday, and am so happy I choose them. I shaved my head end of September for a fundraiser and at 4 months of regrowth mixed with pregnancy weight gain I hated looking at myself in the mirror. I came in with kind of a hard request- hair cut but don't cut much off since I was regrowing it. Amy was able to respect my request of not cutting a lot off but was still able to add shape and a smile back on my face. Found my new salon I'll be using for all services - can't wait till my hair is longer again and can come in for full hair services. 100% reccomend - also love that you can book online.

I've been seeing Honey for many years now. She's always cheerful and fun to be around! Honey always made my experience joyful even though having your back waxed isn't the most fun;). She's very polite and professional , the only problem I have with her is she moved from Winnipeg! I highly recommend Honey for all your needs!

Hi there everyone, I have been coming to Andrea for my hair for the last 15 years. I wanted to be able to touchbase with everyone to explain why I have stayed with her. She has been my stylist through all the fads....i have wanted so many different styles thinking I could pull them off...thank gawd for Andrea. She has always made sure I look good no matter what. I want blonde because I have always been blonde and she makes sure we make me happy . My hairstyle is a medium pixie and she has made sure i look feminine and beautiful. This has always been hard for many stylists to accomplish because it's between being a male cut and a female cut. I always walk away feeling beautiful. For a stylist to make me happy with a blonde that I'm happy with and a feminine cut that makes me feel sexy....this is a hard accomplishment. She has always made this happen. Thank you Andrea

Honey is amazing! I had my eyebrows threaded/waxed and tinted last week. She did such a fantastic job with them. I have very light eyebrows and didn’t want anything too intense. She gave them just enough tint that you can actually see them now, and it looks totally natural. I returned this week for some body waxing, and was extremely impressed again! Very thorough and makes you feel comfortable. Great prices too. I highly recommend her!!!

I called them twice today. The lady said to wait , i was hearing she was not busy at all. She never answered back . I waited for 7-10 minutes each call. Really upsetting how she ignored my call. This is not good way to treat your customers. Very bad experience. I will not call them again. They are not welcoming .

I have been going to Brittany at Joyalaina for about 6 years. I have recommended them to so many of my friends and family over the years and everyone that has tried the studio loves it and continues to go back. The prices are fair, and the space is beautiful and relaxing. If you are looking for a stylist that does the perfect foils for highlights or low lights, who shows great attention to detail and is easy to have a conversation with, Brittany is the one to ask for! She is awesome!

I have been with Amy for years now, followed her from the previous salon she was at. She cuts and styles my hair and I have to say I am always happy when I leave. She’s professional, calm, relaxed, listens and is also really good at helping choose a style that will suit you. I highly recommend Amy.

I have never gone into a hair salon and been treated with so much care. I had grown my hair out for 4 years and it was down to lower back and I wanted a chop. Was here yesterday and was butchered by Andrea. Terrible experience! Started with her explaining how she’s had a miscommunication with a previous lady, not exactly how you want to start out an appointment. After I told her what I didn’t want her to do ~ she did exactly that ~ what I told her not to ~ all while saying she knew I didn’t want that, I tried being nice, hoping she wouldn’t ruin my hair. Maybe she was having a bad day….doesn’t matter ~ I have to live with what she did for quite some time & now my hair is gone! I can’t even get a correction to fix what she has done. If you have long curly hair don’t see Andrea! Turned what should have been a lob in to a bad bob 😢 and no hope for fixing~it’s just ruined! Lady who I booked appointment with over the phone gave me Andrea because she was good at curly hair. I recommend not visiting andrea, took her less than a 1/2 hour to butcher my hair and have me leaving the salon feeling broken.
