I recently got a haircut and balayage from Salma and she’s just amazing. Not only she’s great at what she does, but also she’s very nice and patient and always makes sure that you’re happy with your service. I can’t recommend her enough !! Go see her if you’re in Chicago , she does magic !!

If you are a man, DO NOT get your haircut here. I feel bad writing this review because the girl who cut my hair was really nice, but unfortunately I left with a cut that I was very unhappy with. I had been growing my hair out for 5 months because I wanted a longer style. I have relatively curly hair, so after 5 months it definitely needed a trim and some of the bulk removed. I told her that I wanted to continue growing my hair out and that I didn’t want too much length removed but mostly it needed the bulkiness removed. I don’t think she knew how to do this at all. She started by cutting the sides without even wetting it down. After she clearly took too much off the sides, I thought maybe it’s still okay to be shorter on the sides as long as it is still long on the top. Then she washes my hair before starting to cut the top, which was a relief considering she didn’t wet the sides at all. She told me for the top she would cut more on the back so that it wasn’t so bulky on the top and that the front could still come down on my forehead similar to how it was before the cut, which I thought sounded right. Well, that is not at all what happened. She cut my hair very short from back to front. My hair is now too short to even curl at all anymore, which is nothing even close to the original instructions I gave her. Her technique with the scissors also seemed almost like she had never been trained. My hair now is even shorter than the last cut I had in April, which means I need to spend the next 5 months starting over to grow it out again. I ended up paying $45 for a haircut that I completely hated. I will never ever come back here.

Asif is AMAZING!! I started going to Kala Salon about 5 years ago, after a really bad haircut from another place, and Asif fixed my hair and I have been going here since. He is the ONLY one I trust with my hair and he does a fantastic job every time. The salon is warm and inviting and all the staff here are great. He also started his own hairline and the products are outstanding. Asif know his stuff, is an expert at hair and has amazing talent working at his salon. They are the best because they train with the best. Give them a try- you may find a salon you’ll go to for life. ((Seriously))!!

Excellent salon. Owner really knows his stuff. It’s clear he trains his staff well, too. They’re personable and very professional. I came here to get my hair fixed from a less-than-ideal balayage and am so glad I found them. Prices are fair and the products they carry are awesome (Davines products and the owner’s new line are both great)!

Roland did an amazing job on my hair. My hair is long but thin, and he was able to keep my length while giving me shape. His patience and attention to detail made all the difference. I can easily say this was the best salon experience I've ever had!

Yesterday was my first time going to this salon, and Sonal was my stylist. I have a ton of hair, and it was extremely long and I cannot begin to describe how patient Sonal was with me the entire time! From the moment I sat down at her station, she asked me detailed questions about what I wanted for cut and color. I was there for 6 hours (which is totally expected for my thickness honestly) and she was sooo detailed and so patient!! The staff at this salon is so great, and the environment is very relaxing and friendly! I will definitely be back! No one has ever been this patient with my hair! I am normally rushed out because no one has the patience to deal with it, and I end up looking completely botched after paying so much money. That was definitely not the case here!! I cannot thank you enough! :)

Great location between my neighborhood and downtown. Close to Chicago blue line stop, and right off Milwaukee Ave. I like how the products they use seem to have very little odor, and actually make your hair look and feel healthier. Eleanor Lee is my stylist there, and she always does an incredible job making me look better leaving than I did coming in.

I’ve never been to a salon like this one. I made a complete mess of my hair with box dye and Thaina made me feel beautiful again! The owner was also so involved and helpful. I never met any hairstylists with such attention to detail! I was beyond impressed! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!

​It was the first time I used this salon, and I'm delighted to say the service was excellent. My stylist owner Asif was absolutely knowledgeable in different techniques and looks. He carefully consulted with me and proceeded to counsel on my best choices. The salon has a nice vibe to it. All in all, my first hair cut here was perfect. I didn't feel rushed. Blow out was beyond perfect too. And I have been to so many salons in the city, hands down Asif is the best. I can't wait to go back for highlights 👸 ​Thank you Asif, my hair has never looked and felt so healthy!
