I waited until I had another couple set of eyes on the work that was done to update my review. My initial review was 5 stars just based off the interaction with the braiders and their willingness to finish your braids as fast as possible. My issue however to change my review: when I first called I explained I wanted to come in to show them my hair to make sure it was long enough for the style I wanted. The first braider told me yes and to schedule online, after having some issues I called right back and was asked what the braider said, I relayed she okayed the style and came in the next day. There was a different braider there and she was very sweet but when the original braider came in I could tell even through the French that she was commenting that my hair was short on the nape of my neck. I asked if I needed to wait or get another style and she said no. When it was done I could tell my hair wasn’t tucked well and there was a lot of product at the roots but I thought it was a length issue and didn’t want to nitpick a BW owned business. By the end of the first week/start of the second I had braids sliding out left and right. By Christmas (done 12/3), the entire nape of my neck was gone but I was already OOS for the holidays. By new years I had almost three rows gone and the hairs in my braids looked OLD. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and asked to have the nape redone which after a day or two of no response they said no problem. With the weather though and my already having plans made I couldn’t do the day they asked for and asked to at least be fit in before the end of the next week or else I would need a complete perimeter redo. They responded about a day later but by that time I had gone to another salon that was recommended. They said I could have them redo the perimeter but that all the braids were literally sliding out. After getting other opinions- just to make sure, I decided to remove them. My boyfriend treated me to this hairstyle and I felt awful for having his $350 essentially go to waste. They were very sweet and I hope to maybe try them for another service but times are way too tough out here to pay $350 for braids and they not even last a month. I think if I had read their reviews more thoroughly I would’ve seen this wasn’t a one-off situation. I really wanted to ask for a refund but I will sit on that— for now I just wanted to share my experience.

One of the most professional and pleasant hair braiding experiences I’ve ever had in Pittsburgh!! The very skilled and lively hair dressers made the 8 hrs braiding time pass by quickly. I highly recommend and will be back!
