I’ve been to several African braid shops here in Memphis, and this one is by far the best! No wait time, plenty of skilled braiders working, and they are incredibly fast while still keeping the braids neat and flawless. It took them only 6 hours to do my waist-length boho braids, whereas another shop took 9 hours for the exact same style. Their prices are also more affordable compared to other salons I’ve been to, which is a huge plus. The owner, Khady, is an older lady, and she is amazing! She truly listens to her customers and does her best to make sure you leave satisfied. Overall, this salon is top-tier! Fast, affordable, and high-quality service. I won’t be going anywhere else for my braids!

All of the stylists were very welcoming and professional. My stylist in general was very friendly and patient. She was gentle while doing my hair and gave me exactly what I asked for which was small neat knotless braids. I will be returning soon.

I first discovered their amazing TikTok special—with clear, detailed pricing—and decided to give them a try. From the moment I walked in, the staff greeted me warmly and made me feel right at home. I asked for bohemian waist-length medium knotless braids with added curly accents, and my stylist listened carefully and understood my vision immediately. She skillfully worked with precision, seamlessly integrating the curly pieces exactly as I had imagined. I appreciated how she took the time to explain each step, ensuring I was comfortable and excited about the final result. The entire process was prompt and well-organized. I recently visited this African braid shop and I couldn’t be happier with the experience! The owner was incredibly welcoming and kind, really making the whole visit pleasant from start to finish. I showed them a picture of the braid style I wanted, and they absolutely nailed it. The braiders were not only fast but incredibly meticulous, ensuring every braid was neat and perfectly placed. I got my hair braids on a Wednesday, my entire last row came out!!! All in different spots, I’m so embarrassed! I paid $300 for this service! Do not go here!!!!!! Why take my money is you can’t properly do this job

I don’t even know where to start with this place! So I guess I’ll start with the false advertising on TikTok. They’re advertising a $200 special but not giving the details of the “special”. I get there and ask for bohemian waist length medium knotless the lady starts braiding my hair without adding the curly pieces. I stopped her on the 3rd braid and told her I asked for bohemian she pretended to not understand me and tried to continue braiding. I moved my head away and pointed to the lady beside me who was also getting bohemian braids and told her that’s what I asked for. She stopped and went to “look” for some curly hair. She came back to the chair and told me “no boho” and tried to continue braiding. I said I’ll go to a hair store and get some curly hair then. As I went to untie the smock she goes “hold on ma’am” and magically found the curly hair and said “$20” I said ok thinking my new total would be $220. So she takes the braids down half way and started adding the curly hair. She finished the front of my hair in a decent time which had me thinking I’d be done in a decent timeframe. As other customers started to come in she stopped on my hair and jumped on someone else’s head. I sat about 30/45 minutes with no work being done on my hair. The lady working beside me noticed I was becoming irritated and sent another girl over to finish my hair. The girl she sent had a newborn baby with her so she kept stopping literally every 15/20 minutes to tend to her baby. I understand what it’s like being a mother and having to make sacrifices when it comes to working and having a babysitter, don’t get me wrong there, but she started to take my patience and run with it! The 15/20 minute breaks started to become every 4/5 minutes for about 20 minutes at a time. She got about halfway through the back of my hair and went to tend to her baby again for another 20/25 minutes. At that point I had already been there 5 hours! I asked the only woman who speaks English there to ask her when will she be done with my hair? She responded “if you would sit back she could finish” I said to her “I’ve been doing that! She’s constantly walking off that’s the issue” . After that she came over and finished my hair without stopping again. At the very end the woman who speaks English came and did the final touches which were not done correctly. I still have prickly pieces sticking out my braids, and the curly pieces are falling out and shedding horribly! Once my hair was done she asked if I was paying cash or cashapp I told her cashapp and she tells me my total is $295! I said huh? And pulled up a picture from TikTok of the “$200 special” she says “no only Monday-Wednesday, your braids $270, curly hair $20, and $5 fee for cashapp pay”. Long story short DO NOT go to this place unless you want to waste your time and money! I forgot to mention the product they put in my hair has it itching terribly!

The negative comments are true! In short: No one in the shop speaks english, they are rude, roughly comb your hair with a fine tooth comb as if it’s braiding hair weave, they took 7 hours to do bobbed boho braids and yell excessively loud behind your head. You have to pour a bucket of water into the toilet to get it to flush. Detailed experience: They are false advertising on IG because I showed them a recent photo of work done at their shop three times and they couldn’t replicate it. The first girl (tall with a micro Afro) was doing large sloppy parts so I asked her to do it correctly. She had to call the owner on the phone to translate my request. After it was translated she got upset and walked away while obviously talking loudly about me to the other braiders. Another braider had to come do my hair. This braider was on the phone with speaker on yelling behind my head, spit got on my arm. Next after her an older lady came over and combed my hair as if nerves weren’t attached. Mine you I had it blown out prior. I tried to ask her to let me comb it but again she spoke no English. The tall younger slimmer girl with the wig finished but did not braid past my hair like I asked so my real ends are exposed and because the braid hair was roller rodded my exposed naturally hair got wet so I have fuzzy ends. I stayed because I have a flight in the morning and my first appointment fell through. I also forgot to mention the chair that they had me in was broken. The foot rest was missing, the back tilted backwards so I had no back support and I could feel the base pole through the seat of the chair.

Found out about them on TikTok. The pros are I was done in 5 hours.The only thing I don't like was the fact that on Social media they advertise the $200 deal for Mon- Wed but in reality when you get there they will upcharge you. While getting my hair braided the Owner the older lady, raised the price twice. I asked for butt length and they acted like they didn't want to do it so I opted for a shorter length because I wanted my hair to be right. Don't come here thinking your going to pay a straight out $200 cause you won't. I rather go to Aicha's braiding shop and anyway I won't be returning anyhow.

I went here in 2023 and had a terrible experience. It took 9 hours and 2 people to do my hair and it came out all wrong. I tried to showed the woman doing my hair a picture of what I wanted, but she said she didn't need it. Then she had another person, who obviously was not an experienced braider, finish my hair. Neither woman finished my braids properly, so they began to unravel.

Listen when I say do not go there do not I got pictures to prove it. First and foremost I traveled a hour in a half to get there and to get there and the young lady that said that she would do my hair showed up hours later late. When I showed the owner what I wanted she said not you should get this other style and so I went along with it. She then sent me to the hair store to purchase my wet and wavy hair because at that point she didn’t have no one to start on my hair. I had told her that I can come back some other time she said no we are going to take care of you. She had me to go to the store only to my surprise I wasn’t just getting hair for myself but I was handed a bag of hair with other items in it to take to the owner. I get back and she had this other girl to do my hair which I had no problem. I was there until almost dark and when the other girl that was supposed to be doing my hair she apologized when she put me in her seat. Remind you it was another client in there that was getting annoyed because she had her uncle visitation to be at and they wasn’t going fast enough. They started getting annoyed with her. However I just waited patiently. I didn’t get the style I wanted but I still was appreciative until the next day I tried to put the stuff that the girl recommended me to put in it. The curly hair started shedding but I didn’t think nothing about it but the shedding got worse as I ran my fingers through my hair the curly pieces was coming out even one of my braids in the front which I told her not to do my edges. Then more hair started shedding even more and if you report my post I am going to continue to tell my story. I proceed to contact them because this is a style I haven’t had up for a week. When I let her know how my hair was doing she asked what do you want us to do about it and my response was you tell me and her response back was if you come in we can cut out the strings of curly hair. I ask her for my money back or at least half because if I was to come up there it wouldn’t even look right without the curly and the braids are uneven. I have filed a complaint with the BBB and I will be seeking further action. I payed over $300 for a style that will not lasted for a month. So since they want to comment I payed them $240 + each pack of hair that I bought cost $21.99 and I bought 2 packs so that was additional. I had to pay for gas all the way up there and back and not to mention run to the store not just for myself but for the owner. I have messages between the daughter and I. I asked for my money back or even half of it. The owner should have called me when I let her daughter know of how dissatisfied I was with the service. I normally don’t complain but this doesn’t make any sense.

Story Time: GO THERE ONLY IF YOU WANT TO WASTE MONEY!!! And if you report my post I'm going to keep reviewing because it's wrong the way I was treated there. (Lazy!!!) I came into this shop on a Sunday after asking could I come get micros. The owner said yes, so I traveled an hour there to get my hair done. (Mind you, I asked how many packs I needed and they said 2. So that's what I got.) When I got there I said I want it full. I repeated myself numerous of times. I kept asking, "will this be enough?" I even said, if it's not enough hair I'll come back tomorrow but the light skin girl (the only one that speak English) kept saying yes it'll be enough. But I was like no if it's not enough I don't want to get started because I want my hair done right. I even started walking to my car because something was telling me these people was going to mess up my head. When I made it outside, the dark skin women (only dark skin that speak english) said she has hair and can make it full for me. So I was like okay but I want it full nothing less. Yall tell me why my hair is thinner than a 20 pound women and she didn't even knot my endsright at the end. It came apart 14 min after I left from the chair. I asked for a refund and the owner was RUDE as heck. Horrible customer service. I even said yall can cut it out cause this look a mess. 450 dollars wasted. That's included the hair and gas to look like who did it and what for.also the shop isn't up to code. Fix it!!!
