Deise Reis did an amazing job with hi lights! I have naturally very dark hair and she was able to get it to more of an ashy blonde color! She gave good recommendations for how to keep it healthy! I’m so happy with how it turned out!!

My wife was not happy - she had services and spent $300 and not what she wanted, asked for or expected when it came to color or cut. She walked out feeling robbed of her money and unhappy with the color and cut. Ridiculous that with base color, highlights and haircut they STILL charged her to blow dry her hair and then the stylist did not even ask what style she wanted or how to blow dry nor listened to her or gave her the colors or cut she wanted. My wife was charged more than the price she was given when booking also so don’t expect that price to be accurate- even though she got the same services.

Second time at killer hair, this time for a trim. Joe worked meticulously to give me the best hair cut. He shaped up my bangs and went layer by layer to conserve as much length as possible but get rid of my split ends. I appreciated the care he put in. Thanks Joe!

Ok, let’s start off by saying I showed up a hot mess with burgundy hair. Renee performed an absolute miracle pulling that color out and getting me back to a cool tone. She paid attention to my needs and delivered what I asked for if not better. The hair cut was perfect, I was scared she was going to chop off too much due to damage but she managed to keep the length there and the cut gave me lots of fun extra volume. I would HIGHLY recommend this miracle worker, she will not disappoint!

I booked a last minute appointment and Joe said he would take me the same day. I really wanted to get my hair done that same day so I super appreciated his flexibility. He did a really great job on my hair! He took his time and I feel that he applied a generous amount of product on my hair. I got a keratin treatment and a cut with bangs. I was in the salon for a few hours and had a really good time. Great experience and I’m happy to have found Joe to take care of my hair!

Mona crushed my cut & color. She’s an artist. This is the best haircut I’ve ever gotten. Most hair dressers can’t deal with my very thick hair. Mona can - and does. My color was too dark (from another salon) she fixed it seamlessly and added beautiful cinnamon highlights. Check her out. She’s it. Thank you so much Mona!

Mona has been my stylist last week and she did an incredible job with my hair! I have been box dying my hair for months and wanted to go back to my natural hair colour. Instead of bleaching it, Mona did highlights and saved my hair from damage. She also gave me a great haircut. It was a pleasure speaking with her as well, she is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable!

Although I'm tempted to gate keep, I cannot recommend Sal Serrano enough. He was very thorough in the consult, recommendations and in explaining his techniques as he went, and was respectful of the length I wanted to keep. I will definitely be coming back.

Been here twice, last time with Marisol who was awesome. I’ve gone to much pricier salons on Melrose and they SUCKED. This place is a gem and affordable cut $50 no blowout.

I had a last min plans and the salon accepted my walk in appointment. I got service by Renea! This girl is extremely amazing at what she does! She understands what I want after showing her pictures? She did even better than what I want. She is so funny and full of life and positive aspects.. the whole session went by so quick! Also I forgot my keys in my car and during the session I was worried about my car, the owner Heather offered to go find my keys in my car and she went there 3 times to my car to lock it! So kind of her to go out of her way for someone she doesn’t even know! The hairdresser next Renea was so nice and cool too! I saw a lot of people getting all kinds of services and everyone e seems pretty satisfied, they either been there before? or first timers - like myself- and they are definitely coming back. Best experience ever and I can’t wait to come back! I almost find it hard to believe this place will get a bad review :)))

Killerhair gave me exactly what ive never had from a stylist, a Killer hair cut!! Joe has just earned me some new respect for LA stylists from me. He was nice enough to take me in for a walk-in, first time cut to a best tapered fade I've ever gotten. Everyone that was here was fun.

Mona is a miracle worker! My friend and I thought it would be cost effective to color my hair ourselves…welp..! The Orange/red roots led me to Mona and thank heavens for that. Not only did she correct my roots but gave me incredible dimension with a balayage and a great trim all within 90 minutes time and at such an affordable cost! This is my new home base hair salon thanks to Mona. She will not disappoint!

New in town and today was my first time here. I was a walk-in for a new appointment because I did the unthinkable and used a box on my blonde hair which turned it orange….. Heather was so sweet to schedule me with Mona within the hour. Mona did a fantastic job adding blonde highlights to pull through and then using a toner that blended all my blonde colors and got rid of all the brassy orange color. I’m so grateful! I found my new hair home! Thank you all!

After visiting this salon, I’ve taken over my hair on my own and never looked back. Stylist charged me for both 1. Full head of highlights AND 2. full head of balayage. How is that even possible? You must think your customers are stupid. Also, my hair looks better when me, untrained, does it than the ‘professional’ Get pricing transparency before you’re scammed here, and walk away when it feels off

Cannot judge their ability to cut hair, but service around appointment was really bad. They send me like 4 reminders about my appointment at 10am by text and email and then I was waiting there 25 min until they finally said that the hairdresser is not available. Complete waste of time. Maybe they are good if they have time for you 😂

I got my hair done yesterday: I went in wanting to go lighter brown and do some curtain bangs. As soon as I got there the stylist informed me that he wasn’t expecting anyone as he forgot to change it so people couldn’t make appointments, which now makes me think he rushed to get through my hair. So while my hair cut is great, the color is almost black. I was told I couldn’t go lighter with an all over color. I would’ve have been willing to pay more to get what I wanted but that was never explained to me just told that it would look “natural”. Well this isn’t my natural and I have a horrific experience with dark hair and red undertones and swore I’d never do it again…. But my hair is exactly that now. When I texted the hairstylist and asked for some highlights because this isn’t what I wanted, the response was that he’s doing me a “courtesy” charging me another $125 on top of the $210 I already paid and my hair isn’t longer than my shoulders. I have never paid this much before and I am so heartbroken to have such dark hair during the summer months. The reviews seemed promising but I don’t recommend it :( Also to add- the hairstylist would talk over me after asking questions and stared out the window not even responding to my responses. Like I was talking to a brick wall.

I’ve been to killer hair twice now. The first time I saw stylist Kyung and she gave me exactly the haircut I asked for and also gave me her advice on how best to grow out my hair. She did great but was fully booked before an event I’m going to so I booked my next haircut with Mona. I asked Mona for the same haircut - very simply, a trim to even out my hair as I am growing it out and a slight face frame to soften it. Instead she cut three inches and gave me a bowl haircut. It is so thick at the bottom I look like a child. It was also initially was uneven and I had to ask her 3 times to fix it before leaving. I had reserved a trim ($40, which is what I asked for) and she asked me for $65 because “this is more than a trim.” She did fix the uneven hair without complaint and ultimately charged me $40 but I am not satisfied with the cut.

UPDATED POST: just wow- please read yes respond of the owner! There is no apology, no kindness in her words. I apologized to her face for being late and she is still pounding on me over 20 minutes - it was actually 18 minutes exactly!!!. I had an idea of what I wanted but the said stylist gave up on me, literally stopped suggesting things! She blames the customers entirely! There is no compromise no accommodation made. Please RUN from this place !! ust left the salon. The owner and the stylist refused service and recommended me to leave based on my "vibe". I was late- but then said I am sorry for it, several times. I asked if we can do a shorter service - instead of highlights do just full head color. To which I was pointed out that I have a "blazee" attitude as I did not prepare sufficiently and didn't know exactly what I wanted. Isn't it the point to help you customer choose? I swear on the stack of bibles that I did not say a single word that could be construed as an insult or attack. I was on edge maybe, and a little bit stressed (for personal reasons), maybe visibly upset about something, but in no way rude. I wasn't sure what I wanted and asked for help, I didn't like a few first options offered so that was my mistake I guess?? I was told that I was giving the attitude. My evening event is ruined as I cannot find anyone on short notice. After some conversation I was offered to try another stylist, but would you of you were shown the door just 5 seconds prior?? This is also not a very clean place, even though I was admittedly late, the chair was full of hair which was swiped only 1 second before I sat there. I looked around it was not tidy.

I went to Killer Hair for the first time today and was greeted by smiles and an energetic atmosphere. My stylist was Mona and during my consultation I showed her a picture of a hair color that would have changed the entire color of my hair because I was feeling self conscious about the dull color it had turned and I wanted it gone! Mona was more than willing to proceed with the hair color I chose but she also asked if I was open minded to try something a bit more bold and fun. She showed me a color idea that would blend with my darker roots as my hair grows out and would require low maintenance touchups. I figured I would trust her advice since I do hate how tacky a grow out can look. During my session Mona was a wonderful conversationalist and she had me sipping wine and laughing the whole time. The end result of my hair was beyond what I could have asked for. She took my dull dark roots and added bright champagne blonde that blended so beautifully! She also cut and styled my hair with bright blond highlights framing my face and I felt like a real-life Barbie! I left there with more self confidence than I walked in there with, which I feel is exactly the way anyone wants to feel coming out of a salon! The salon itself had a great positive vibe with everyone seeming to be having a good time. I loved that the owner had decorated the walls with framed vinyl record covers of some of the best records ever made! The only thing that I can think of that would have made the experience even more exceptional is if the music playing in the salon was from the albums hanging on the wall. Of course I am kidding about that and I look forward to returning to Mona’s chair!

Sarah S. has been my hairstylists for over 10 years.  She has worked wonders with her creativity with only knowing the outcome of what I want.  First time I went to Killer Hair, I felt welcomed when I first walked in by everybody.  I told Sarah I needed a change and I was open to lightening up my hair color, which was dark brown.  Not knowing of any new hair trends, I left my hair in her creative and experienced hands and LOVED the outcome of my caramel balayage.  I have received many compliments with my hair and looking forward to the upkeep. Thank you Sarah, you are always amazing.
