I had come to Kismet to see heather back in august for the first time and was pleasantly surprised with how much I loved my hair- I did a full bleach and it looked fantastic. However when I came back to get my roots touched up and my hair toned, my roots ended up white and the rest of my hair a dark blonde which was sad because my hair was previously lighter and I didn’t want it darkened just toned. I was also charged $50+ add ons for ‘extra product’ and a conditioning treatment that heather never discussed with me in advanced- I don’t know why extra product was needed as I have regular thickness and shorter hair. This was very disappointing to me as I’m a college student and could not afford much more than what I signed up for, after tip I paid $250 when on the website it was supposed to only be $170. Just to make it worse, Heather had not one but two other clients come in and get their hair done while I sat to the side with my hair over developing and sitting way longer than I needed to- which is why my roots are now white. My appointment ended up taking 4 hours because she served other clients while I had product in my hair when the first time I got a bleach and tone from her it only took 2 hours. I was really upset and almost distraught about my hair for the rest of the day then when I emailed my complaints I received a passive aggressive email back. I am bummed because I had two really amazing experiences here but the third one made me decide I will not be coming back to kismet and will be going somewhere else where I am informed about add ons and am not double booked.

Absolutely pleased with my experience with Chase! This was my first haircut Seattle and more importantly the first haircut I have had with a new stylist after 6 years of working together with one stylist who also used a completely different line of products, so it was a big deal to start a new relationship with salon, stylist and product. The salon is welcoming and easy to find and everyone was attentive and kind. Product displays are well maintained and each station looks consistent and clean. Chase took a great approach at understanding my hair, discussing thickness, oil profile, general shape and growth behaviors. I asked that she explain the products that she used because I like to keep my products consistent between daily care and salon care, and also addressed my concern with handling the weather and air of Seattle. My hair has never looked better, the appointment was reasonably timed, detail and care were of no question, and I left with multiple products that I am very happy with. Chase was personable and easy to talk to, and seems to have great rapport with her coworkers and knowledge of the area. I will be coming back regularly knowing that I will have my expectations exceeded.

I went to McKenzie and my hair ended up looking like a toddler cut it and the owner refused to speak to me when I tried to talk to her about it. Asked for a refund and was told no, and I don’t feel comfortable having someone from the salon touch my hair to “fix it” after this experience. I spent a lot of money the worst hair cut I’ve received in my entire life and there was no solution. Have to spend $100+ to get it fixed elsewhere now 😒 I’ve had multiple people reach out to me and say they had the exact same experience so DO NOT GO HERE unless you want want to be ripped off and out $200+

I’ve gone to Heather for partial foils for years now and it has always turned out great, a couple weeks ago Chase did my hair and it turned out great, too!

Came here cuz of the good reviews but have mixed feelings about this place. The staff is knowledgeable about their products and nice on the surface but I asked them to dye my hair back to my natural color and it had difference a few days later, really noticeable in photos. I paid $200 and didn’t want a blowout. Have me left with wet hair because the hairdresser didn’t blow it at all??? I almost caught a cold 🥶 what kind of passive aggression is this??? Will not come back ever.

Really not a good haircut. I asked for a simple, standard cut and it came out very uneven, with layers not well blended. It seemed like the hairdresser wasn't paying attention during the cut, and it shows.

Super friendly staff and comfortable, clean environment. I came here on a visit to Seattle and found this after reading positive reviews on Google Maps. I made an appointment and came for an updo - was seen right away when I arrived. I showed my hairdresser a few pics of what I was hoping to get done (low relaxed updo) and it turned out so well!

Love this place! All of the staff are super friendly, the salon is clean and decorated, and they always have a cool Barbie display in the window, hahah. Makenzie always works absolute magic on my hair, I don't trust anyone else to touch it!

McKenzie is such a talented hairstylist! My new hair color and cut looks beautiful! The salon offers Aveda products as well. I really had a relaxing experience.

Caprica is amazing and I highly recommend them for your styling needs- especially if you want color. I went in with an idea of what I wanted but their hair artistry totally exceeded my expectations. I traveled from several hours away and will continue to do so going forward- cause Caprica has set the bar high. They are the only one I want to touch my hair!

I love kismet salon! I absolutely love Caprica! She’s been doing my hair for two years and every single time she does such an amazing job. She is an artist when it comes to hair color and cut. I feel so lucky that she’s the person that does my hair. I recommend her to people all the time!

This salon cancelled on my the morning of my appointment via email, rather than phone call. The two stars are only because the stylist has given great cuts in the past, but I won't be scheduling with them again. To the Owner: I appreciate your reply. I did include a phone number in my original email, but it doesn't seem to have made it into your system (it happens). I think the worst part was the lack of sincerity when I called in to try to get in with a different stylist. I do understand that on short notice it wasn't possible, but the flippant tone on the phone really put me off and earned the original review above. Thank you again for the reply- I really do appreciate it.

go there for trims. very simple cuts but done well. pricy but at least will get a neat haircut.
