I discovered this salon back in 2019 when I first moved to LA, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Both Tanisha and Suzy are always very warm and friendly, and just great energy to be around, I look forward to seeing them every time I have an appointment.

I’ve been coming to Knox Salon for almost a year and I am so happy to have found this amazing hair salon. The team is welcoming, warm and very nice. The place is very clean and always smells so good. I have recently tested the Texture altering treatment instead of the regular Relaxer Treatment. I wanted to try something with less chemicals but that would give me a close result to the Relaxer Treatment. Looking on the Internet, I couldn’t find an alternative to chemicals and was nicely surprised that Knox Salon had its own formula to answer my request. My hair is a little less straighter than after a relaxer treatment but the result feels natural and so close to the texture of my lengths. I highly recommend this treatment, if that is something you are looking for.

Tanisha has transformed my hair over the past few years. My hair was damaged and I didn’t know how to take care of it. She not only helped me to get my hair healthy again but also taught me how to manage it myself. I stopped relaxing my hair 1 year ago and have been only using texture altering treatment since then, treatment she created. My hair is now smooth, healthy, thick, and easy to manage even without relaxing! I’m so happy to have found Knox Salon and to have Tanisha on my hair journey!

I had such an incredible time at Knox Salon. Tanisha and Susie exceeded my expectations as soon as I walked through the door. The patron experience is executed with grace from start to finish. Tanisha and Susie are both very kind and sweet and are fabulous stylists. My main service was with Tanisha (the owner), and I sincerely appreciated the fact that SHE TOOK HER TIME AND MORE THAN DEMONSTRATED HER SINCERE INTEREST IN MY HAIR'S IMMEDIATE + LONG TERM HEALTH (I've got 3c curls)!!! My HAIR LOOKED AND FELT FABULOUS. Learning that her salon is committed to time-tested & industry-leading plant-based/organic hair care products was truly the icing on the already magnificent cake. Let's face it: if you have textured hair and/or ethnic hair, you're often going to have a hard time finding a stylist who ticks all the boxes (skill, energy, etc) in a new city. Boy am I am relieved and grateful to have found Knox when I did. I'm a former Beverly Hills only gal and let me tell you.... Knox has that town beat something serious!!!

I’ve been a Knox Salon client for many years and have always had a pleasant experience. Tanisha is Uber talented and knowledgeable about hair. She’s been my saving grace as it relates to education on how to care for my hair. I recently transitioned from a relaxer to texture altering and my hair has flourished. Words can’t express how much my hair has improved since coming here.

Can't sing their praises enough. I love this shop and the texture altering system Tanisha introduced me to! For context, I've lived in LA for 7 years now, and for the first 6, I could not find someone to do a relaxer to save my life. I'm from Texas where professionalism and expertise are not mutually exclusive. However, moving to LA, it was an uphill battle to find someone who knew the chemistry and physicality of hair annndddd remains 100% professional and timely. Not only that, but my hair has grown so long and healthy since I've been coming. Relaxers became too hard for my scalp, but I'm too busy to do the maintenance of my full curl. Tanisha came up with the perfect solution with texture altering so my hair is back to being thick and healthy, but still manageable, sleek, and as straight as I'm used to! Love it here. Worth every dollar.

If you have long, natural/kinky/curly hair, save your money and please do not come here! I used to come here years ago before I was natural and decided to come back this January. Although Tanisha and her assistant are so kind (which is why I am giving 2 stars instead of none), I just do not think they know how to handle kinky/thick/long hair. The detangling process was extremely painful and anyone who knows curly hair knows to detangle while the hair is soaking wet w conditioner. They did not do this, and I told them my hair can not be detangled otherwise, which resulted in a very long and painful process. I was there for 6+ hours and spent over $300 and I left with heat damage and overall damage, which I am now paying the price of. I am so upset because I spent the past 6 years restoring my hair to health and finally decided to go to a salon for once, which has left me now cutting so much off. But I’ve learned my lesson - do not go come back here!

Just know the are heartless! I was out of town emergency and canceling appointments was the last thing in my mind. But they charge me $50. I will never go back to this place. I been a customer more than 2 years!

Adding to the chorus of praise for Knox Salon... I'm so happy I found this little gem!! For starters, Tanisha and Susie are awesome. They make you feel so welcome, not only because they're both super warm & friendly, but just by the little comfort services they offer (hanging your jacket, offering you water, shoulder/neck massage before hair styling). I felt immediately at ease and was glad I kept the appointment despite all the rain. The interior is really clean and inviting also. Susie did my hair and did an amazing job. I felt like she really listened to what I wanted and executed perfectly, checking in when needed to make sure I was happy. She gave me a rejuvenating deep conditioner treatment and then a cut, my hair felt so much healthier and my curls felt revitalized. I purchased a few Aveda products to try at home and they've been great. This is for sure my new go to spot. Thank you Tanisha & Susie, can't wait for my next appointment!

After covid it was time to find a new salon. Having used Aveda products years ago the retail shop at Century City assisted me in finding an Aveda approved salon in my area. I initially reached out via email and received a prompt reply and called to schedule an initial appointment for a root touch-up. Parking is available on the street - typically 2hr. It's a mixed residential and business area so a short walk for free parking was great. As soon as I entered and was greeted, the small boutique salon had that calming Aveda feel. After a short consult with Susie the process was a "10" from start to finish. From service, color technique and quality of products the entire combination was a win. Will definitely be back for more color - but, hoping to try for other services in the future.

I always feels great when I leave. They use plant based natural products and they offer so many services. It's not cheap but it's a must if you want to feel pampered. I always make sure to tip Suzy cause she shows so much care while washing my hair, feels heavenly.

I’ve definitely finally found my place on the west side after moving away from my original salon on the east side. The number of expensive salons that have the audacity to not know how to manage or style curly hair is like…most salons in LA. How you gonna charge $400 for a dye job then leave me looking like a wet poodle? 😂 it happens more often than not. I’m a 2c/3a curly girl who has had thinning hair lately and a loss of bounce to my curl. But Tanisha and Susie restored my faith today that I can regain my hair strength and curliness with patience and care. They were informative, patient, kind and attentive. Tanisha gave me specific advice for *my* hair type and clearly knew her stuff. Susie assisted and gave me a glorious neck/shoulder massage and informed me of the products she used every step of the way. I can count on one hand how many salons have styled my hair correctly in my lifetime. Finally adding this one to the list! They exclusively use Aveda products which I also recommend. Yes, it’s more expensive than some other salons, but worth every penny. I walked away feeling GOOD about the chunk of change I spent, not bad. A lot of salons have made me feel like I wasted my time and money (looking at you Blonde/Blond), but not with Knox. Can’t wait to go back!

Love this salon and loved my hair cut with Brenna. I was so happy the salon matched me with her after Gina (who was amazing) was no longer in town. Brenna was awesome knows so much about hair and gave me the best haircut ever.

Great experience! Tanisha and Suzy were so nice and made me feel very welcome in their space. I had an idea of what I wanted, and Tanisha took that, ran with it, and hit it absolutely out of the park. It’s my first time going this short and due to this cut, I think I may never go back to long!

I got my first haircut in over a year from Susie and I’m so happy with how it turned out!! I feel more confident about wearing it down, whereas before, I pretty much exclusively wore it pulled back. Susie took her time and made me feel super comfortable and like she’d take care of me, and she did! It was a lovely experience all around, I’ll definitely be a repeat customer :-)

I had my first cut and highlight at Knox this past weekend and I was blown away by Susie, Tanisha and the salon in every way. They are SO NICE, so sweet, and so talented. I've been getting my hair highlighted for 25 years and Susie did the best highlighting (foil) job I've ever had. It's unbelievable how good she is. She is magical in every way; Susie is a true artist. I feel so lucky to have found Knox, Susie and Tanisha and I told them they're stuck with me now - there's no getting away! ; ) I can't say enough amazing things about them, it's such a special place and it was a wonderful experience from A to Z. Absolutely sublime. <3 <3 <3

I have Natural Kinky curly hair, I went there for a blowout after reading all the Rave reviews. Overall disappointing & would not return. Pros: Cleanliness, Tanisha does a great job maintaining it clean even when busy. They follow Covid precautions and encourage hand washing etc Susie did a great job washing my hair and did do small sections when straightening taking her time. Cons: Defensive if u make ANY suggestions or preferences, i.e im not tender headed and like a deep scalp scrub when washing especially with how many products I use and Getting a blow out. Susie at one point basically told me to shut up after I made a suggestion. My hair was not detangled the way I like, I can FEEL if my roots arent brushed through. Roots weren’t straightened I could feel where on the shaft she started flat ironing but I kept my mouth shut as I was told. Im not sure if any Heat protectant was used and did not dare ask. My hair was straight but EXTREMELY dry, My hair has never been that dry after a blow out. It didnt even last 2 days and I paid over $100!!

I have never had a salon experience like this, in my life!!!! First, Tanisha and Susie are extremely friendly, warm and welcoming!!! They keep you informed throughout the entire process; and their mission is to TRULY take care of you and make you feel like your truest self!!! Not to mention, they have serious SKILLS!!! Susie washed my hair like it was a spa experience, not just a salon service! And Tanisha tenderly and skillfully pressed (straightened), cut and bumped (curled) my hair!!! Tanisha gave me an unbelievable cut; and I mean unbelievable because I have been curly for five years and my hair was short and in uneven layers; but she masterfully shaped and layered my hair to truly frame my face! I’m still in awe!!! I CANNOT wait to come back; AND I am bringing others to this salon, too! Thank you, ladies!!! It’s well worth the money to let them care for your hair!!! I’m like a walking poster; my sister just saw my hair and now she has an appointment!!! 😂

Love the girls at Knox salon! They each took the time to get to know me & were both so personable. I had a a cut and highlights done. Not only did my stylist hear out my vision for what I wanted my hair to look like, but she also worked in a timely manner! At the end of my time there my hair felt cleaner than ever before, I felt beautiful, and seen by my stylist.

Normally when I get my hair done I never know what I want to do, nor do I have the confidence to try something new. Susie did such an amazing job with my hair, she made me feel so comfortable and took her time to make sure I liked my hair. She gave me a beautiful face framing and more bold layers. I have never felt so confident and beautiful with my hair before, Susie goes above an beyond with her work. 100/10 would highly HIGHLY recommend.

One of the best salon experiences I’ve had. The vibe is calm, positive, and they are extremely good with curly/coily hair! I went back to relaxers after being natural for 9 years. I did a phone consultation with Tanisha ahead of time and I love that she confirmed that I can achieve the style I want by staying natural, or relaxed, as both can be done well and healthy. She had so much information and options, I knew I was in good hands. She (and Suzy) ABSOLUTELY did not disappoint. My hair looks so healthy and my expectations were totally exceeded. I’m thrilled without it tuned out. Client for life for sure.

What a hidden gem! I'm so happy I found this salon. The ladies that work here are so friendly and welcoming. Susie does an amazing color and cut! Will not trust anyone else with my hair and she dose an amazing shampoo, so relaxing! Love this place!!

Knox Salon is the BEST! Tanisha, the Owner, has established a Standard of Excellence that is difficult to find on the Westside of Los Angeles. Her attention to detail still amazes me after being her Client for over 3 years. She maintains a current and advanced knowledge of all things Hair for all types of hair. Coloring, styling, cutting, conditioning, relaxing are skills that she demonstrates consistently, all while giving each Client individual attention. She does not "stack" Clients, thereby allowing busy clients to receive services without being in a Salon for hours. She maintains an exemplary ambience in her Salon with the calming aromas, the music and her obvious love for what she does. I must commend Susie, one of her Operators, for having provided exemplary services as well. With all the details for which they pay attention I could go on and on. Let it suffice to say that going to Knox Salon is a TREAT!!

Knox Salon was great! I chose Knox randomly as I wanted a quick haircut somewhere close to my place. Susie gave me a phenomenal look and I had a wonderful and incredibly relaxing time (I’m not used to scalp massages or really any salon quality service - never going back to Supercuts after that!). You’re in good hands if Susie’s working with you. I’m not an expert with pricing (having gone to a legit salon maybe twice in my life), but I think the experience was well worth it. Looking forward to coming back!
