Everyone at Kolorbar is nice and friendly, but I come here for Jun, who's been taking care of my hair for years. I like that I get a lot of attention from her when she's at Kolorbar, from taking of my cut and color and styling. She remembers what has happened during previous appointments as well as my preferences. It's amazing to find someone like her!

Sam did a great job with my blow out! I told him I like my hair blown out with soft beach waves and he followed exactly what I wanted! He's efficient and knows exactly what he’s doing! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

Kolorbar has several locations on the Upper Westside along the 1-train route, which makes it convenient if you’re living on this side of Manhattan. On this appointment my hair stylist was [Alison] who did a spectacular job of recutting and straightening out the rough edges of the last cut. The interior space is very moderate in size and on a Monday she explained that it’s usually busier later in the week with more hair stylists in the salon. Overall, the salon staff and technicians were amazingly accomplished and accommodating. Highly recommended, for its professional clients and regular customers, between each of the stylist’s male and female patrons here at this salon location.

Best team Salon in Manhattan! Kolorbar on 84th and Broadway W has a great atmosphere due to the team! A client now for now over 2 years and posting to share the love! Martina is an exceptional hairdresser! Great colorist and works with you whether to achieve a new look or to improve your overall hair health! If someone is more experienced in a particular area, they work as a team to make sure you get the best results. Highly recommend!

i have been coming to kolorbar for over a year now and i am continually amazed with the level of service i receive! all of the staff is very attentive and will make sure you’re comfortable. karyna works wonders and I always leave with a big smile on my face 🙂 thank you kolorbar!!!

I have been to every salon in NYC, but I have finally found the BEST!! Sam at Kolorbar, cut, color and keratin. Always with a smile and I promise, you will always look and feel beautiful. The whole salon, just happy and amazing vibes. But Sam, truly the best...Look no more, I am so picky, and I have never been disappointed. Pure Perfection ❤️

Kiki and Martina are both excellent… I had color from Martina and I just loved it… And Kiki gave me a great haircut. Martina did a beautiful blow dry. It’s a nice clean salon and the service is perfect.

My favorite salon by far. The first time I came to Kolorbar, I needed a last minute highlight for a trip and sort of chose Kolorbar randomly. After my first experience, I decided I would never trust anywhere else. I always leave looking AMAZING and on top of that everybody is so kind, welcoming and helpful. Will never go to any other salon!!

Sam has been doing my hair now for almost 5 years and he's truly amazing! He knows exactly what to do that will keep your hair healthy while still achieving the look that you want.

This review is for Rainbow, who is amazing at balayage. She gave me everything I asked for - from perfect shade to ensuring the roots in the front, which is where my gray hair is most visible, got extra-special care. I walked out feeling like a brand new woman, all thanks to her talent. On top of which, she is such a warm and kind person, and I will recommend to everyone!

Tito is a pro and a perfectionist. He colors my hair and always does a fabulous job. But today I watched him do a cut while I was under the dryer. It was fascinating to watch a master at work. The cut was so sculptural and shaped so well that I was mesmerized watching him. He is meticulous at what he does and does it all so well.

karyna is the best of the best if you want to go lighter/blonde. does the best bleaching and balayages ever!! so attentive to detail and knows what’s best for you and your hair. lasts me 5 months on average before touch up.

This was my first time coming here and I requested an appointment with Sarah because of all the great reviews mentioning her. Thank you everyone… those reviews didn’t let me down, so here’s another one! I came in with a botched balayage from another salon that wasn’t growing out naturally (which is the whole point of balayage for me… low maintenance!) Sarah not only helped ease the transition from my natural roots to color, she adjusted the color to be much more appropriate for my skin tone. The cut was also lovely… I wasn’t sure what to ask for but she read between the lines and gave me something wonderful and contemporary but still very me. It’s clear that she’s a total professional and has tons of experience, but she was also really friendly and communicated that she had my back. I can’t wait to come back. Finally found the person I can trust with my hair! (Btw, I also shopped around all over NYC and Jersey and the pricing here is very reasonable.) Thanks Sarah!

I have been getting my hair done by Karyna for years now and every time it comes out better than I expect! She does an incredible job and my hair feels and looks amazing every day because of her. Every couple months I come to her and my hair turns out exactly how I want, leaving me happy and satisfied. I have been getting my hair bleached for years by her and it’s still very healthy and soft because she uses high quality products. She also makes good conversation and I love talking to her. I cant wait for my next appointment with her! I highly recommend this salon and especially Karyna if you’re looking to get your hair done soon.

Karyna did my yarn braids for burning man last night and did an incredible job! It took longer than expected - partly bc I have so much hair, and partly bc of another customer who kept making a scene and trying to get free services, so Karyna had to repeatedly step away from me to try and accommodate her. Karyna did her balayage and it looked good to me - I thought she did a good job but the woman was on a mission to demean them all and get her treatment for free. It was my first visit to the salon but Karyna came highly recommended. She even stayed after closing time to ensure my braids were done well and not rush them even though it was late. She was incredibly kind, patient, and accommodating - even when I kept changing my mind about yarn colors during the first hour of braiding. The other stylists were also friendly and kind and every client in there had amazing color and styles - including the one who was making a scene. (It may not have been exactly what she imagined, but it didn’t look bad at all and certainly wasn’t a bad color job. Also - when you lift black hair, it tends to get a little brassy - that’s just how it is.) Anyway, the only downside to my experience with Karyna and Kolorbar was the woman storming in and out of the salon interrupting my appointment to complain and berate Karyna and the receptionist. Other than that, it was a great experience and I highly recommend them. (Note: Read negative reviews with a grain of salt - some people are just angry and need people to blame!)
