This is best hair braiding place in Harlem. Great location nice spacious clean shop. Bathroom is super clean and smells great. Super great customer service. Great pricing!

stellar place. great service, kind ladies, clean and open space. they did a great job with my hair. I was simply a walk-in and I didn’t make an appt, glad that they could fit me in! only thing I’d say is that I budgeted for $150-160 max and so I specifically asked for the medium braids but once they finally got around to me I think they just started braiding medium knotless. So I was charged $180 in the end… but still I quite love my braids and I’m so pleased that generally the prices don’t break the bank. Great service highly recommend. I just wish I knew about this place sooner. 😭

I’m so happy I found this place. Miriam and Makita did a beautiful job cornrowing my hair. Everyone at the salon is nice and the salon is clean and professional. This was my second time and I will be returning often. This is the only place I will trust to braid my hair.

I highly recommend Makita and the other braiders at Kourou African Hair Braiding. Makita accommodated me last minute and got me in and out within a few hours. My twists are neat, parts are straight, and the braids aren't too tight. The other braiders were also doing excellent work on the other women getting their hair done as well. Prices are also fair. Don't hesitate to give them a try!

Makita and the ladies were extremely welcoming. They took into consideration my hair type and were always asking if I was comfortable to ensure that they were not braiding too tight. I wish I could give more than 5 stars.

This was my first time at this braiding salons. The ladies were very nice to me, and my cornrow feed-in ponytail was BEAUTIFUL! The prices are also very affordable. I will be back to get my hair braided many more times. Thank you!
