Just amazing. I had Japanese Straightening with stylist Kei at Kuniya hair Lower east side, this is the second time I asked stylist Kei for Japanese Straightening. Stylist Kei is just perfect !!!. I really loved the hair style, If you struggling your wavy hair, I highly recommend the Japanese Straightening, and ask Stylist Kei. it’s really straight, and stay long. Stylist Kei has deep knowledge about hair (hair style), you will find you made a great decision with Stylist Kei. No doubt Stylist Kei has talent.

I've been seeing Naoko (Nao) for my hair bleach, color and toner appointments for over two years now. She is a skilled artist with meticulous attention to detail, a great listener, and a trusted advisor. I trust her with my hair entirely and she is always able to achieve the perfect color, no matter what shade or variation I've requested! She's extremely thorough, careful and gentle. All of this, plus Nao's positive, joyful and calming energy, and the relaxing, serene, no-pressure environment at Kuniya, truly make for a perfect experience every time. Masa is one of the best! I have gotten many haircuts and had my hair colored prior however no one explained to me about what would look good for my hair naturally in terms of cut and color. I was also very skeptical regarding hair color and did not want to damage it. He educated me about no bleach coloring and was able to achieve the color I wanted. I have never gotten as many compliments as I have since I’ve started having my hair done by Masa.

Usually an East Side customer, I trekked to the LES for a haircut with masterful Masa, (I’d follow him to the end of world) and was charmed by the salon. However, I was really curious about the speakeasy in the back. It oozes charm! Only a creative person like Masa would have thought of this edgy concept. If you live in the #LES don’t even think of going anywhere else. Highly recommended

Had the most fantastic experience at the LES location with Cana! I had a perm done for the first time and she carefully explained every step to me. She was very attentive and considerate with my hair and made the entire experience a breeze. I didn’t even notice I was in the chair for over two hours. The back of my hair became a bit loose over the course of the first week because it’s never been permed before, so she kindly took the time today to recurl everything free of charge— I’m super happy with how my hair has turned out. Thanks again Cana!! Also this location has the most amazing vintage furnishings & decor… great vibes inside

I recently treated myself to an absolutely wonderful haircut and color session with Kei! My hair was in crazyyyyy, I need of some TLC—after neglecting it for a solid six months, it was a mess of split ends and uneven coloring. I booked an appointment at the Japanese. salon (always curious about their good reputation in hair). When I walked in, I had no clue what to do with my hair. But Kei, suggested adding some bangs with layers and a fresh dye to spice things up. I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical about the dye, considering my past DIY disasters. But Kei assured me he had just the thing—a Japanese hair dye product known for its subtle, natural-looking results. It wont damage my hair further. Y'all, the result was nothing short of amazing! The hazelnut dark brown shade he chose was perfect—it completely evened out my color and gave my hair a gorgeous, refreshed look. Plus, the haircut he gave me somehow managed to make me look 10 years younger! Everyone said the bang is a game changer, hardly recognize me. Aside from his incredible talent, Kei is also just the friendliest guy, and the vibe at the salon is always so welcoming and comfortable.
