I recently injured myself rock climbing, and the staff at KUYA (shoutout to Jordan!) were SO REMARKABLY helpful in my rehabilitation process. They really went above and beyond to support me. I absolutely love the facility, and gladly refer my friends.

First time float 🤿! The complimentary pre-soak acupressure massage chair was epic. The float tank was spacious—I could spread out my arms and legs. It was 100% dark, yet easy to turn on the light if I needed to. The magnesium-rich float mix left me feeling extraordinarily relaxed. Jordan was such a down-to-earth and welcoming host! She gave my friend and me a tour of the building before facilitating the treatment and even offered a discounted sauna experience.

Very relaxing. Life changing & addicting healthy habits are made here. Sometimes I never want to leave.

Best place ever. The people are all so sweet!!! Workers and non workers both :)

Fantastic place! The float tank is a life-changer. Lots of cool modalities for those who like growth and recovery. Jordan helped me out and she was fantastic and very knowledgeable. I’ll be back for sure. The lobby is gorgeous.

Kuya, and the employees, specifically the sweet Australian woman at the deck jordan, foster the most welcoming loving environment for those who truly care about integrative modalities for body, mind, and spirit

The space is tranquil & amenities are top quality. I rarely have felt crowded in the sauna & no one stays in the cold plunges long enough for you to feel like you’re waiting. They have sensory deprivation tanks that look and feel a bit different from the “pods” you see online. Big enough for 2 people to be side by side (allowed) so if you’ve been curious but get uncomfortable by the thought of closing yourself in a pod, kuya offers a great entry into floating. The zero gravity massage chairs are heaven! They have an IV lounge with an assortment of packages/nutrients to give your body exactly what it needs and these services are only administered by certified nurses or something like that but regular staff will not be poking you with a needle. When you go ask for Jordan to add that cherry on top (such a delightful human). The people you meet inside, employees & members alike are very kind & incredibly knowledgeable. I encourage you at the very least to book a tour and see for yourself!

Amazing vibes

I booked a recovery day pass and float for me and my husband to celebrate our anniversary. I got a confirmation email, and I was excited about how the schedule was planned out, starting with the float, followed by IV therapy, etc. We arranged for a babysitter and drove 5 hours to make it to our appointment on time. After filling out our forms, the receptionist asked what we were there for. Shouldn’t she know? I thought our 1pm appointment would’ve been noted, especially since we provided our names. I told her we had an appointment for the recovery day pass, and she said their nurse was out sick, so they couldn’t offer that. They gave us other options, so we decided to go with the float. She mentioned we could use the cold plunge and sauna, but those are already free for first-time visitors on a tour. They didn’t even have the courtesy to inform me beforehand that the recovery day pass wasn’t available. Worst of all, the receptionist seemed clueless about the day’s appointments. Overall, a huge disappointment, and I wouldn’t recommend this place!

I went to an event downtown this week and and met Sarah who shared about Kuya wellness and some of their services like the couples sensory deprivation floats and soundbed. Oh my goodness let me tell you what an awesome experience and big shout out to Jordan for her help over the phone booking the float, helping us get set up at arrival, and being overall so welcoming and kind. I was not expecting the Titan massage chairs but I wish I had one at home I’d be in there all the time. The float was peaceful and my partner and I finished off the day with an adaptogenic drink while I read some beautiful Rumi cards. We will be back for another float and hopefully the soundbed!

Jordan was the best! And the float was amazing.

Kuya is my favorite place to spend time in Austin. The staff is so friendly and wonderful, the community will connect you with so many friends and the events are insightful. The I.V. Lounge is a great accompaniment to the sauna and cold plunge. You will want to be a regular at this special place.

Long day after long day, and I finally said “enough is enough. I need to find a way to truly decompress.” I called Kuya. Jordan ended up being on the other side of the phone that night. She both helped me understand everything this beautiful facility has to offer, and also entertained a bunch of funky philosophical conversation as well. With the great things I’ve heard about this place, the last thing I needed to feel out was the people. After speaking with Jordan, it felt serendipity. Kuya is a place you go to feel connected to the things that matter, and disconnected from the things that don’t. Kuya Kuya Kuya.

My husband surprised both of us to a salt float tank in the morning- totally relaxing! I was interested in the infusion therapy, the husband said go for it- so we had Sam, help us find the best therapy for our needs! Amazing service and we left Kuya feeling more refreshed and relaxed!

Sam made my IV experience amazing. Highly recommend.

Amazing place

I originally wrote a negative review about my experience here, but the manager provided excellent customer service. I do find it’s a bit overpriced for what they offer, but to each his own.

Very culty vibes here. Tried their cold plunge and sauna, and it was packed with a large group of Kuya employees, which I thought was strange. I also left my bathing suit in the locker room and went back 5 minutes later and they “couldn’t find it” after lifting up like 1 or 2 towels in their laundry pile. I knew I’d never see that swim suit again. Oh we also ordered some “tea” from their coffee bar and we all felt a little weird after. I think there was definitely more than just tea in those drinks. Consider another place if you’re not into that spiritual life coach vibe. I found Lizard yoga to be a wayyy better cold plunge/sauna experience, especially since they have private rooms.

The cold plunge and sauna amenities are amazing, super clean, and modern. Katlyn, the lead nurse in the IV lounge, was excellent and provided great services. I highly recommend the IV lounge and amenities at Kuya!

This place is awesome! Highly recommend checking out the IV lounge and asking for Katlyn - she’s the best. Such an easy and great experience!

Stop having your female staff use dating apps to sell memberships. (updated after their reply --- Notice how they don't even try to deny that they have female staffers going on dates to recruit members :) ) This is sleazy ya'll, do better.

I am giving this place two stars. It’s not for everyone and there are pros/cons. Pros: To begin with, they have an excellent set of extremely cold plunges and a very hot sauna. Also, their interior decoration is pretty great. Staff is polite and attractive. Cons: Two. First, this is ultimately a business/social club that attracts an alarming amount of people who are high on the spectrum for narcissistic personality disorder and borderline personality disorder. And there isn’t much privacy when you use the plunges/sauna. Second, this is basically a business where a bunch of white folks are trying to jack Indian, South East Asian, and indigenous wisdom etc. + claim it as theirs when it will never ever be theirs. There is this whole vibe in the place about spirituality being equated to the number of plant medicine ceremonies and bali trips you’ve had. The reason why I gave this place 2 stars instead of 1 is because the president of this place (it’s just a title) gave me a refund for my membership in a timely manner. Kudos to her for that though when I had a sit down with her it should have been in private. Troy who works he is awesome though. Out of everyone I met who works there, I think he should be promoted to managing this place. So I am now a member at Ocean Labs which is also in Atx. The cool things about Ocean Labs is that they have a PEMF machine, the staff is less standoffish and there is more privacy.

I love Kuya and have already recommended it to several friends in the area. They offer a free tour of the facility (sign up link is on their website), which includes a free day pass to use their sauna, cold plunge, massage chairs and community space. Anyone can use the community space and they have a really wonderful cacao bar. Kuya mainly offers ketamine therapy, which was very intriguing after touring the facility and listening to our tour guide’s experience. They also offer weekly community events, which is a great way to meet like minded people in Austin. Come by and see for yourself!

Love everything about this place -- the community, amenities, staff and co-working lounge are all A++

Beautiful space, wonderful community and great pricing on services.

I'm a huge fan of Kuya and proud to be a member here. I joined in early 2022 a few months after it opened. I've been continually impressed with the other members and guests, hot and clean sauna, and cold plunges (which can get very cold). It's my favorite community spot in Austin by far. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a sauna and cold plunge spot and great community.

I’m not surprised to see other reviews mentioning how this place is not welcoming to people of color. I like the facilities and the offerings. I have some worries about the cleanliness of the plunges which are drained only once a day. The mission here is community, but is it white community only? I went to an event last night and felt what can only be described as unsafe. White people howling to the sound of wolves and discussing how “darkness” is bad and we need to find the “light”. A discount for people of color or some other accessibility would be great. Are there any people of color on staff? There are no safety protocols or guidelines for helping people here. At an intimacy workshop a participant started crying and he was forced to leave. No one consoled him. He just had to leave. This is the problem when untrained and unqualified people start to do a job they aren’t trained to do. They have no tools to support people. The sauna room is disgusting. The benches are often wet because people go back and forth from the cold plunge to the sauna and don’t put down a towel. The floors are always soaking wet. They allow couple floats in the sensory deprivation tanks but they are never cleaned.

This place is absolutely filthy. I signed up in January and very quickly cancelled my membership. Because of their predatory billing practices I was forced to pay for a second month. The floors are always wet. People do not use towels in the sauna.
