Booked this salon online, had an appointment scheduled and the day before I received a text that the salon cancelled my appointment. No explanation, warning, reasoning provided, no call to reschedule or explain. Horrible customer service all around.... don't waste your time expecting an appointment here. There's a reason all the other places were booked and this one was open.

I booked this salon for my wedding earlier this month. Camille arrived 45 minutes LATE (on the schedule that they made) on my wedding day. Not only did she not apologize, she in fact walked in as if this day was not important to me or any of my bridesmaids. We were not able to get getting ready pics with my girls due to her tardiness as I had planned. My hair and makeup the day of the wedding turned out well, although for both the make up trial and the wedding day, she did not use a clean beauty blender to apply the foundation, instead she used a clearly USED one. I wish I spoke up and said something at the time. Additionally, her calculations on the final quoted prices did not add up with the contract that I signed. She charged me and my bridesmaids 25% gratuity when the contract clearly states we would be charged 18%. When we brought it to her attention, she stated that she was referring to a "different" contract and was not willing to give any of us the money back. She will try to get as much money out of you as she can through services & travel/parking fees (& will lie about the distance traveled so she can charge you more). Overall, the unprofessionalism and lack of respect of her clients is very evident. I am not one to write many reviews, but thought other brides may want to know what I went through with this salon before booking.

I go to Lakyn James 3-4 times a year to get my hair cut and colored, and they do a great job!

Fantastic experience! I’m originally from Pittsburgh but live in Kansas City now...I would rather get my hair done here than any place I’ve been to in Kansas City.

I have only been going here for a few months but I can’t recommend Lakyn James more. The staff are sweet, fun, flexible and always doing the best work for your hair. I personally see Kelli who has basically transformed my hair, but all the staff members including the owner are great.
