I left work 1.5 hours early because I work in Winter Park and live in Mount Dora to take my son to his haircut appointment that I scheduled over the phone last week and confirmed by text two days ago only to arrive and be told by the young lady behind the counter that Kara canceled her appointments for the rest of the day. My son is leaving on Tuesday early to travel to WA for the summer. The young lady then texted her to tell her I was there and she asked me if we could come back tomorrow at 5. Seriously? No courtesy of a phone call to let me know my appointment was canceled? I am greatly disappointed because my daughter who also sees Kara loves her, but I am not scheduling with someone who has zero consideration for my time. I don’t care how good you are. You lost not one, but 3 clients today. None of us will be returning to you.

Today was my first appointment with LaRue Kay Salon. Absolutely loved the atmosphere. Kara has a way of making you feel right at home. She was attentive and very professional. I left loving my hair again! Highly recommend the Boutique as well ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Quality

I made my appointments months in advance. I was supposed to have a stylist who had experience with updos. When I got there the woman who was doing my hair was asking the receptionist how to do it. She did not blow dry my hair correctly so it was frizzy and she was incapable of doing an updo. I had to completely re-do my hair. The makeup was worse! First of all, they didn’t even have a make up station. They pulled a stool with no back up to the reception desk and had me sit there. There was no proper lighting there was no mirror. This woman who is supposed to be a professional make up artist told me that she had been doing her own make up since she was three. That was her experience! After working in my eyes for a few minutes she asked me if I wanted to see and of course I said yes. I was literally horrified! I look like a zombie. It was as if I had asked a six-year-old to do my make up. Needless to say I did not let her continue doing my make up. This hair and make up was for a wedding and because of the incompetence of the people at the salon my day could’ve been totally ruined if I had not found somebody to redo their work at the last minute. I do not recommend anybody ever use the salon for anything.

I went in as a walk in. The customer service was outstanding. Emily listened to me and gave me the exact cut I described to her. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I’ve never been to this salon before. The Owner Kara, has been talking about me and spreading false information about me that I would never do. It’s very unprofessional to hear that a hair stylist that has never met me, is talking about me to clients. That client was my sisters bestfriend. I’m 19 and no one in this salon has any reason to talk about me.

Absolutely love coming here Danielle Mallard has been doing my hair for the past 5 years and I wouldn’t trust anyone else with my hair. She listens to what I want and gets it right on point. I am always getting complements on my hair.

Emily is an amazing stylist. She spent her time pampering and spoiling me as she washed, cut and styled my hair. I was extremely pleased with the end result, and the fact that I can recreate the hair style at home with ease. Can't wait to go back for my next appointment!!!!

I have been going to the salon since it first opened the doors. All of the stylists are amazing people who do such an amazing job. You can tell they truly love what they do and their clients. I wouldn’t trust my hair with anyone else

I was in the market for some hair extensions and this place completely blew me away with the outcome! This place is not only beautiful and clean inside, but the girls are so outgoing, friendly and professional. They make you feel at home and of course make your hair look so beautiful! She not only does the best hair in town, she runs a very professional operation and her staff are the best around. Kara is AMAZING!!! Always great with my color!!! My hair feels so healthy after I visit!! The spray tan and makeup services are awesome too!!! Makeup looks flawless and the tan looks so natural NOT orange! They are a great locally owned salon that I support 100%
