Expensive and disappointing. My daughter saved their money to pay for a professional color and it was a deeply disappointing experience. They damaged her hair (which has been falling off since) and the color washed off within a week. When we went to complain they re-did the color and explained that the service had been done by one of their stylists in training who did not explain to my daughter what to expect. Unfortunately I would not recommend or ever go back. The space is also not as welcoming or friendly as it is advertised.

I was new to the studio, and couldn’t be happier. The owner and all of the staff are fantastic. Ashley gave me a wonderful haircut, and I’ll definitely be going back! Highly recommend for any men who are looking for a good haircut.

I’ve been so happy at Lather. I’ve gotten my hair cut and lightened (blonde) with Fern a few times. They always do the best job!! Color and cut is always exactly what I hope for.

July 21st I came for the second time to the salon for cut and color. The master was young but very nice and I was happy with her work and the results. The lady at the reception though was so visibly unhappy to be there and was so unhelpful when I tried to schedule my next appointment it ruined the impression from the salon. I understand when you are not in the mood, even though you are in a client facing position and at work but at the very least you could be helpful to schedule the next appointment. I would just name the dates and she would just say that the master is unavailable and would not suggest anything just frankly was visibly annoyed I was even talking to her. I asked about bingo cards she didn’t know anything, and ruined my desire to participate in the bingo frankly. And when she marked the bingo card she was also rude because she didn’t mark both services I got and when I asked about that was rude back to me. Generally I am cautious about coming back because I come for the good mood and the good service not to be treated like I should have stayed at home.

I've been getting my hair cut by Kat for almost 5 years & she always does an incredible job. I have loads of cowlicks & she knows *exactly* how to cut my bangs. I was never one to feel particularly loyal to a hair stylist but I think probably I just never had one as good as Kat :)

I’ve been getting my hair done by Kristin for at least 5 years now and I can’t recommend her enough!! I’d moved into the area from another state and essentially had PTSD from prior experiences with stylists (yikes) so I knew it’d be important to find someone I trusted. By recommendation, I went to Lather and have never looked back since. Kristin is not only the best I’ve ever worked with but has become a dear friend to me! She has always made me feel welcome, heard, and pops off every time. As someone who loves being blonde and is naturally dark, she keeps my hair looking bright but HEALTHY every time! Also her blow outs are *chefs kiss* she’s the real deal. You won’t regret booking with her!

"I recently had a disappointing experience at a hair salon. As someone with naturally wavy Asian hair, I decided to bleach it and go for a blonde look (from a different salon months ago but I currently have ash blonde hair), understanding that it could cause damage. I initially booked my appointment for the 7th, midway through my cut, I had unexpected business emergency, I had to cut it short and reschedule to continue the cut. The salon was accommodating in rescheduling, which I appreciated. However, when I returned on December 10th to continue with my hair, things started going downhill. The stylist kept cutting my hair shorter and shorter, and it became puffier than I had hoped. I had requested curtain bangs and long layers, aiming for a 90s-inspired look, but one side of my hair ended up longer than the other, which I had to point out. The junior stylist then brought in a master hairstylist to fix the unevenness. She mentioned that it might be due to the blowout technique and the way the ends were cut, promising to give it a softer look. Unfortunately, my hair ended up looking more like a wolf cut than the straight hair with curtain bangs and soft layers I had envisioned. Throughout the process, I tried to be patient and understanding, considering that I too run a business and know the importance of correcting mistakes to ensure customer satisfaction. However, what upset me the most was when the stylist mentioned that my hair was damaged from the bleach and dye, implying that was the reason for the less-than-ideal haircut. I believe that regardless of whether my hair has been bleached or not, I should receive the same quality of service and attention to detail. As an Asian American woman with naturally jet black hair, I wanted to explore different hair colors, but it felt like I was being blamed for the outcome of my haircut due to the previous bleaching. I believe that the stylist's explanation should not have overshadowed their responsibility to provide a satisfactory haircut. Overall, my experience at this hair salon was disappointing. I believe it is important for stylists to treat all customers with respect and professionalism, regardless of their hair's condition.

Devin is an absolute gem. Look at my hair?! I could not be more in love with it! I moved to the neighborhood in May & was badly in need of a new stylist. I took my chances & who knew I would be getting the best hair care of my life, a fun & sweet friend, & an expert in beauty. FR, Devin goes the extra step to make sure I get what I want. I am a girl with natural curls who loves to wear it straight, curly, & wavy. I also change up my part and styling techniques (like heat and product.) Devin always makes sure my hair is on point no matter how I wear it. She is also an open person who is fun, interesting, professional. She really shows up for you and does a great job, while making you feel connected to her no matter what. I always leave her feeling more beautiful than I come in & I can't imagine why any person would go to anyone else. She's there to laugh with you when times are awesome & there to lift you up with a little extra care when times are rough. Book with her ASAP but leave room for me. I'll never go to anyone else. Plus, she's so freaking cool and adorable!!! She's giving icon every time I see her...an absolute queen.

I had a great experience. I just moved to the neighborhood and was on the lookout for a new salon. I figured I would have to try a few places before finding "my place" but I hit a homerun on my first visit! Cynthia met with me, took her time, really listened to me, and my hair looked amazing, all while having fun and some great conversation! I have been fortunate to live in cities all over the world and this salon definitely in one of the best! Thank you!

I have had such great service at Lather. The minute I walk in the door, the greeting and care is so kind. The energy in the salon is cool. Love the local artists that are featured each time I am in, highlighting the skills of others. Shout out to Fern who did a fabulous job covering the grays. I Felt renewed and refreshed. Fern listened as I described what I wanted and exceeded my expectations. Parking is easy and the restaurants around the salon are great. Make a fun afternoon of it.

I recently had an extremely disappointing experience at Lather Hair salon, and I feel compelled to share my dissatisfaction with others. My visit to the salon was with Fern and was nothing short of a nightmare. To begin with, during the blowout, Fern managed to burn my head not once, but multiple times, despite the fact I told her she was burning me. It was an uncomfortable and painful experience, and I expected a skilled stylist to avoid such mishaps. The end result was equally appalling - my hair turned out flat and felt like straw. It was as far from the luscious, voluminous blowout I had envisioned as one could imagine. I had initially gone in for blonde highlights and expected a transformation. To my dismay, after a staggering FIVE HOURS in the salon chair, my hair looked no more blonde than when I first walked in. The entire process was excruciatingly long, and the lackluster results were nothing short of infuriating. To add insult to injury, the haircut Fern provided was a disaster. It was choppy and uneven, completely failing to meet my expectations. I left the salon feeling disheartened and frustrated by the overall outcome of my visit. Given the multiple issues I encountered, I decided to reach out to the salon manager to express my grievances. While they initially offered to rectify the situation, my attempts to reschedule due to valid reasons, first because of the COVID-19 pandemic and later due to a scheduling error related to an out-of-state wedding, were met with resistance. The manager refused to accommodate my rescheduling requests and eventually stopped responding to my emails altogether. While I respect the value of a business's time and the challenges they may face, I cannot overlook the unprofessional behavior I encountered during my interactions with the salon. My experience with Fern and the salon management left me thoroughly unsatisfied and disappointed. It is disheartening to see such a lack of accountability and customer service from a business that should prioritize its clients' happiness and satisfaction. I strongly advise others to think twice before considering this salon for their hair care needs. DO NOT GO HERE, or at least not with Fern.

I usually don't write reviews, but I had such a great experience at Lather that I have to. Stephanie took her time listening to me and was so intentional cutting and styling my hair. I could tell she really cares about what she does and it made me feel very comfortable and special. The whole salon has a great vibe. And, my hair looks great! I will definitely be going back and recommending it to friends.

Lather went above and beyond for my wedding hair and makeup - I can’t recommend them enough. They took my inspiration and delivered it exactly, and made me look like an elevated version of myself. After my trail, multiple people stopped me on the street to tell me I looked amazing. On my big day, they truly made me feeI beautiful, and they were so fun to work with in my bridal suite. Every person in my bridal party—including my Mother, Mother-in-law, and bridesmaids—loved their looks. They were incredibly professional, and stuck to our strict timeline while even finishing up a little bit early, without ever making us feel rushed. They took the time to listen to exactly what everyone wanted, and made us all feel amazing! If you are looking for a team of professionals that can make every single person in your party feel amazing, look no further than Lather!

My original review of 5 stars was for Lather's regular services. I've been getting my hair cut at Lather for a while and have just had wonderful experiences. The salon is clean and has the perfect balance of feeling fancy but still relaxed. Ashley is my main stylist and I always leave happy! Her schedule books out sort of far but for good reason! We just used Lather for wedding hair/makeup and I wish I could leave more than 5 stars! We had Stephanie and Ashley for hair and Hannah for makeup. Everyone looked stunning and had all of their concerns heard throughout the process. I'm thrilled we booked them, and will continue getting services through Lather for years to come.

feels so comfy and upscale yet down to earth. the employees are friendly, welcoming, and cool. prices are also very fair for the quality and professionalism you get! the design of the space is thoughtful and stylish. no complaints, it’s the best!
