Love this salon and my stylist Tessa. She is an artist with curly hair! She always schedules a long appointment so there's plenty of time to sculpt my curls into perfection. With such a good cut, I use less hair products because I don't need to "manage" my hair, it just falls into place. Cuts last months & never start looking bad (just, at some point, I decide my hair is too long and needs a trim). Tessa has cut my hair for about a year. When she moved her studio to Deep Ellum, it was a longer drive for me, but now I wouldn't trust anyone else with my hair!

Tessa Elizabeth is just ✨wonderful✨. Whether she’s in Tyler or Houston or Dallas, Tessa will always be my go-to gal! I know my hair is in good hands if I’m in her chair because Tessa puts so much care into each element of her craft. She truly tailors her approach to each client based on their hair and goes above and beyond by explaining her process— whether it’s hair color or a curly cut— throughout my appointments. When I leave her chair, I leave with a better understanding of how to care for my specific type of curly/wavy hair. Returning to Tessa over the last few years has helped improve my hair’s health and revive my natural curls. I absolutely cannot recommend her enough!

Book with Sarah!!!! My girlfriend cut my hair on a whim and it ended up looking choppy and much shorter than I wanted. I booked an appointment with Sarah and they worked MAGIC on my hair. Somehow I came out of the appointment looking like I had MORE hair than I had come in with. 10/10 satisfaction. 10/10 recommend.

I came to Dallas for training for a month. I searched salons near where I was staying. Happily I found Laura with Level 101. My availability was very limited due to the nature of the training I was doing. Laura was very accommodating! She is fun and bubbly! She did a partial HL AND A CUT. I was blown away! I loved my hair when she was done. She listened to my wishes and we had a great conversation to boot! Highly recommend Laura! The salon is hip and eclectic!

I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair cut by Uli and I couldn't be happier with the experience. The studio is located in a fun and vibrant area, and can be easily walked to from nearby street parking. The booking process was a breeze and I loved that I could text them what I was looking for so I could be matched with someone specializing with my reqeusts. Uli made me feel comfortable and provided great recommendations for future hair styling plans and product usage, without any pressure to buy their products. I highly recommend Uli and Level 101 for anyone looking for skilled and friendly hair styling.

Level 101 is such a wonderful establishment in all aspects. You just can't beat the location, the team, and the overall vibe of their business. Lana is kind, informative, and incredibly talented. I am truly in awe over their expertise and so excited about my new haircut which is everything I wanted and more! I also learned how I can better care for my hair at home and received helpful styling tips. I left feeling excited about my new look and empowered by the knowledge gained during my appointment. The entire team is fun, professional, and approachable. It is very apparent they enjoy what they do and where they work. I am grateful to have found Level 101 and overjoyed to be able to support a business with an inclusive culture and such talented individuals.

My barber has a chair here and is the best but I've been going to Level 101 for a few years now and everyone of the employees there is amazing. They're really professional and friendly. When I see them interacting with their customers it's like they're good friends. Never had a bad experience there. Book with Austin though haha.

literally never seen (or worked at) a cooler, more welcoming and vibe-y salon in my entire life the staff: chefs kiss. the ambiance: chefs kiss. the management: two chefs kisses. everyone is independent and specializes in so many different services, truly the catch all of catch all’s. level 101 is people friendly to boot. do you have a tushie you can plop down in a chair? then you can go there.

I absolutely love Level 101. This hair studio is in the heart of Deep Ellum that really epitomizes my favorite things about Dallas that translates through the salon: unique, urban, creative and vibrant. Above all else, my favorite hair stylist, Laura Oliver, is one of the best here. She has transformed my hair to the blonde of my dreams and helps curate each visit by fine tuning any sort of maintenance needed along with exceeding my hair wants and needs. I’ve also seen her work hair cut and color magic on friends of mine and other clients all around. You cannot go wrong with Level 101 and if you are looking for someone that will listen and bring your hair goals to life, definitely give Laura a shot! P.s. - if you need a men’s cut, give Alek Smith a holler. He will make you feel and look like a top notch!

I come to Level Hair Studio with my 4C hair and Neicy slayyyyssss it everytime! Hands down the best silk press I ever had on my natural hair. I’ve been coming to her for a little over a year consistently & I never leave disappointed. She also installs my lace wigs & it always looks good! I highly recommend if your close to the deep ellum area to come stop by and see neicy!

I have been going to this salon for a year now. Unfortunately my experience with Laura O has been super challenging to say the least . Do not book with her unless you want to have your appointment no showed multiple times . She will forget she scheduled you. Takes days to respond. She does not take her job seriously what so ever ! Unreal! I have red hair that requires maintenance every 8 weeks and I still have to confirm my appointment multiple times with her .. yet she has still forgotten a few times ! Completely unprofessional! Can’t believe I wasted my time and money here ! Never again !

Laura has been doing my hair for over a decade. She is kind, intuitive, passionate, understanding, and flexible. She is a gifted artist at work. At times I don’t know what I want and she will create magic that makes me feel good about myself for months. She KNOWS hair, and always recommends the best stuff for me that I end up buying over and over because it’s only stuff that works. Hair is so personal and impactful for confidence, and she simply doesn’t miss. 5 stars isn’t enough.

Where to begin? I have been a client of Laura O’s for nearly a decade now, ever since I ruined my hair with red box dye in 2015. Since then, she has helped me meet my hair goals and feel like my best self. She has been able to take me from pixie cut, to long white blonde hair, and everywhere in between. Her customer service is unparalleled and she is truly the only stylist I have been to that I feel makes the effort to form a bond with her clients.
