Best salon I've been to in New York City, hands down! Daniela did such a great job, the place is super clean, the prices are reasonable. It's newly renovated - and will be even more improved in the next few weeks, apparently. I'm very picky about salons, so I surprised myself by liking this place this much. While the location, setting and service make Lida's a go-to, I encountered something there even more rarely found in salons: a kind, friendly attitude! Lida, Daniela and Matthew are all lovely people and will do all in their power to make sure you leave smiling (and looking fresh !). If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.

This salon is like family to me. The staff is welcoming and very client focused. Most important— my hair looks consistently great after Krisi colors it. Daniela is wonderful working on mani-pedis. I would not go anywhere else. This is a warm professionally run salon that knows how to work well with all kinds of hair and styles.

While Lida’s Beauty Lounge is known for its hairstyling, coloring and other spa treatments it deserves equal praise for the absolutely best pedicures. Daniela is amazing! As someone with pretty funky toes, with persistent ingrown nails, I have been to countless nail salons as well as many podiatrists and no one has done as good or as thorough a job as Daniela. I also appreciate the small private room where she works because I have always been self conscious in typical nail salons with rows of young customers-most with beautiful legs and feet-who are usually on their phones while the pedicurist works away on their feet. Daniela gives you her full attention while you discuss your foot problems or anything else that happens to be on your mind. I never thought that getting a pedicure could be such a delightful and almost therapeutic experience. I’d never go to anyone else! The salon itself is very clean and lovely and Lida is a wonderful host, always asking if you’d like a glass of cold water or anything else. I am so happy to highly recommend Daniela and Lida’s Beauty Salon!

Despite the welcoming ambiance and top-notch customer service, caution is advised when it comes to the choice of hairdresser. Several weeks have passed since my visit for a haircut, yet my hair remains shorter than desired, making styling a challenge. My stylist, Olga, while very sociable, diverged from the reference photo I provided, swiftly cutting sizable sections before I could intervene. Despite expressing my dissatisfaction, her response was dismissive, assuring me that my hair would eventually grow to my liking. Such an experience is disheartening after investing in a haircut tailored to my preferences. However, the other aspects of my visit, including the warm welcome and enjoyable wash, were excellent. I wish the hairdresser would pay attention to the needs and wants of the client and maybe consider checking in from the start before it’s too late and the client is left disappointed.

My daughter discovered this salon. I went several time with her and alone. I had wonderful experiences with different hair cuts. The team working there is very nice and prepared . Thank you Grazie grazie grazie Patrizia

The best place to get your hair done on the upper west side. Lida the owner she is so nice and she will go out her way to make sure that each clients is satisfied and happy. All her stylist are nice as well and they do a great job. Highly recommend this place

I went here to get a Keratin after getting it sooo many places and it not working. Lida’s done my Keratin six months ago, it came out natural looking and beautiful, and it’s still sticking! Other than being an amazing stylist, she is also just the sweetest, most kind hearted lady.

I had a wonderful experience...... walking in off the street, I was looking for both a color correction and a cut correction. Kristy, Cosette, Lida, and all were wonderful. The salon is totally on point, great music, light and bright, and it is run like a well-oiled machine. THANK YOU!

My older sister recommended I try this salon after she had such a great experience but unfortunately my experience was not the same. I called the salon ahead to explain my hair texture and walked them through what I would like done. They booked me for 6:30 and when I arrived the whole experience was rushed. The hair stylist did not take time to look at my hair or discuss cut options before quickly ushering me to get my hair washed (normally with curly hair you trim first dry). After washing the hair stylist did not listen to my direction and cut my hair opposite of my preference. I explained that I am sensitive to fragrance and that my hair is too fine for products but she used Moroccan oil to boost the curl. She did not dry or style my hair and instantly left as I stood up from the chair. This whole experience was rushed and the team should not have booked an appointment if the stylist and team could not stay to give adequate time and attention. My hair cut and the experience has me in tears. I would like a refund and would not recommend this salon.

After meeting Cosette, I honestly hope to never get my hair cut by anyone else ever again. The amount of compliments I've received on my hair in the past year and a half since I've been coming to her is incredible. For the first time in my life, I feel adventurous about trying out new hairstyles because I know Cosette will do an amazing job with whatever style I ask for. She has a gift for not only understanding the type of cut you want, but also the vibe you're hoping to project with your new cut. She is a true artist and I couldn't recommend her enough!!

Amazing! From the moment you walk in, you are treated to a wonderful salon experience! You are offered water, in a glass. The shampoo bowl has a reclining chair. Most importantly, the stylists LISTEN and treat their customers with respect! I've found my new salon! Not overly pricey for the Upper West Side! Pleasantly pleased!

Great place! They are nice and do what you ask. Chris is my stylist and he does my hair the way I want with no worry. Cut and color. And you don’t feel pressured to talk the entire time if you don’t want to (you can, but I prefer to just chill). Chris is the best!

I am new to the area and looked high and low to find my new hair salon. Everyone here was very friendly and kind, but unfortunately, that was about it, which is surprising, based on the glowing reviews this place has. My hair color was good, nothing great, with some asking if I did it myself...I did have quite a bit of staining around my hairline, so I would not recommend going here if you have plans afterward (I had to cancel mine because I was too embarrassed with my hair). However, because I was happy with my haircut, I would still consider returning- except the unbelievably disappointing hair-wash experience makes me hesitate to do so. This has always been my favorite part of going to the hair salon, but the experience with the assistant (not the stylist, Zeli) made me count down the seconds until it was over. My hair was washed very harshly, and I had shampoo-water splash all over my face. Even worse, I don't believe my hair was towel-dried properly as the back of my sweater was drenched afterward. Overall good, not great, and I am saddened that I will have to search for another salon to go to.

I had a fantastic experience at Lida’s! I booked on a whim based on location and availability, and also brought with me a difficult hair dynamic (dyed box black). Zeli and Lida were thoughtful, efficient, offered me lots of coffee, and made the whole experience relaxing and enjoyable. And, the work was fantastic. I left the salon and within a few blocks a stranger literally looked over and said, “your hair is amazing!”. Both the cut and color were exceptionally well-done and I would happily recommend them again.

Please come here to get your hair done!!! I have been going to Lida's for years, and I will not go anywhere else! Why? Not only is my hair dyed to perfection EVERY time (Zeli does an amazing job!!), Lida and the staff go out of there way to make me feel extremely comfortable! Weather it's a heater if its cold outside to unlimited coffee, they take care of you! Highly recommend!!!!
