Hands down the best hair salon in Chicago!!! Everyone here is so talented- especially when it comes to extensions and highlights (the blowouts are incredible as well)! I came to Lira with disastrous hair/extensions from a previous hair salon- her and her team were able to fix the mess on my head & the full blonde highlight I got here looked amazing. I knew after my first visit that I would never go anywhere else to get my hair done lol! 10/10 recommend !

I decided to try Lira Guzzle Salon since my original hairstylist was overbooked, and I wanted to be ready for my yearly Christmas meeting in the city. I just wanted a balayage touch-up, and while the lady there was very nice and friendly, she unfortunately ruined my hair. Even my regular hairstylist questioned why I went there. Additionally, while I was on the phone speaking to a cousin, a staff member approached me and told me not to speak Spanish, which was shocking and inappropriate. Although she later apologized, it was not the right way to address a client. On a positive note, everyone, including the receptionist, was very friendly, and the aesthetic of the salon was great. However, it was upsetting that my hair was ruined.

I get nervous trying new places for my blonde color but Liddy did an amazing job! I came in with probably 6 months of regrowth and she brought my hair back to life! Lira and the team helped out to make it all go quickly as well. Thank you I love it!!

Lira is simply the best! Even though I have moved out of state I still come back to Lira for my hair because she is the best. She’s a perfectionist with coloring and cutting and the sweetest personality. 100% recommend.

Second time coming to Liras salon. Both times she has fit me in last minute! Her and the entire team (including their sweet salon pup Mahi) are wonderful! I needed my extensions fixed and they have lasted the longest from Lira than at any other salon. I will be back in the next couple of months when I’m back in town! Highly recommend Lira & her team for any of your cut, color or extension needs :)

First time here, had a few hair cuts in the city and have been in search of a good salon that can handle long, thick hair. Liddy did an amazing job. I asked for 5 inches off and long layering with a straight dry. My hair has never looked so beautiful. Looks like I found my salon!

I am SO pleased with this place and how it is run and how scientific they decide your hair color and toner is very appreciated and amazing. What a beautiful setting and pleasant atmosphere. This review is a bit outdated but I’ve had my haircut twice by Lira and I’ll keep coming back! I always ask for long layers without thinning and she gets me right every time and the results are even better than my inspo photos. The photo shows my hair after I style it myself but you can just see the layers are perfectly cut <3 It’s hard to find a salon downtown that can cut layers on Asian hair but so glad I found this place.

Be at haircut ever! I’ve had Miss Lira cut my hair for the third time this morning and I have to say, it is the best haircut I’ve ever had. The salon is beautiful, everyone there is friendly and kind and I am definitely recommending the salon if you’re looking for an amazing cut and styling at a beautiful salon.

Ive been coming to Lira to get my hair highlighted and cut since I moved to Chicago 3 years ago and I could not be more happy with my results every time I see her! My hair is pretty dark to start with and she has done an amazing job getting it as light as I want at every appointment. My hair always stays healthy and shiny and never looks damaged. Ive seen so many other stylist before I met Lira and my hair was never what I envisioned. It was really frustrating because of all the money I was spending for results that I did not like so when I found Lira I was so happy. I always get so many compliments on my hair and have referred a few people to her salon as well. Shes the kind of stylist you can never cheat on ;) her salon is very clean and her staff is so nice which is always a plus!

I’ve been a long time client of Lira’s. I was initially nervous to get extensions because I have very fine hair and had a bad experience at another salon. Her knowledge and confidence calmed my fears. She did amazing job with the installation, treatments and balayage. My hair looks better than ever! LOVED yanci’s work!! I needed a cut and balayage, and I showed her some pictures, and she did such an amazing job!! The color came out amazing, and lasted so long. The cut was perfect and felt so healthy. I’ve sent a bunch of friends here, and they all were sooo impressed and happy!! We’ve all had different people, and you can’t go wrong!

Lira (the owner) and Liddy were exceptional. I’ve been to hair salons all over the country and this one is easily the best I’ve ever been to. Lira was super honest and great to work with. Not only did my hair turn out stunning, but they were fast! My old stylist took 6+ hours, they only took 2 1/2 hours (with them working together)! It saved me so much time. They kept my super long hair happy and healthy. They even took the extra time (even after the salon was closed) to detangle and curl my hair ❤️

Wow. What a great hidden gem in a quiet little corner of River North. Lira is a super talented master stylist who surrounds herself with a talented team, in a clean and stylish salon. Other salons don’t seem to give much focus on Mens haircuts, but Lira really cares and makes me feel valued. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great and stylish haircut in the city. I see why people travel from all over go there and will be back for sure.

I had a great experience with Liddy. I called to see if walk-in were available, and Liddy was able to accommodate me same day. I don’t get my hat cut very often, but I had it done maybe two months ago at a different salon, and just wasn’t in love with my hair. I was able to share some photos/ideas with Liddy, and she executed it perfectly. I think I may have found my new favorite salon, after years of searching for “the one!”

I had an outstanding experience at this salon, thanks to Liddy’s incredible talent. I came in with damaged hair and a clear vision of what I wanted, and Liddy not only provided excellent advice but also worked her magic to transform my hair. I opted for full highlights, curtain bangs, and a layered cut, and the results are stunning. Liddy’s patience and expertise made a huge difference, and my hair looks and feels so much healthier. I strongly advise against seeking balayage services from Lira at Lira Guzi Salon. Unfortunately, my recent experience has left my hair severely damaged. She ruined my hair for my wedding, which is weeks away. Lira allowed my hair to process in bleach for over 50 minutes without proper monitoring, despite my increasing anxiety about the situation. She eventually removed the bottom foils but left the top foils in place, neglecting to check the overall processing. This lack of attention, exacerbated by her double-booking, resulted in significant damage to my hair, just weeks before my wedding. Following the service, I consulted a licensed professional who confirmed that my hair is overprocessed, damaged, and exhibits extreme breakage. I now face the necessity of having several inches cut off, and the haircut itself is uneven. This experience has been emotionally distressing and has left me questioning how she remains in business. Lira presents herself as a master stylist with 26 years of experience and attracts clients from out of state. However, a true master stylist would not make such basic processing errors. She has not taken responsibility for her actions or addressed concerns regarding processing guidelines and product safety. In fact, she even asked, "How did your hair get damaged?" which feels disingenuous. I have noted a pattern in her responses to other negative reviews, where she claims that clients were “extremely happy” and that she provided the desired results. However, my experience has been quite the opposite. She has refused to offer any form of compensation for the damage caused. I urge potential clients to reconsider before choosing this salon. Please take my experience into account to avoid similar issues. I cannot tell you how much I regret my decision to go to Lira!

One of my favorite hair salons! Jen is the best stylist, I always get layers with face framing and she nails it every time. And on top of that, she gives me the best blowouts ever. The atmosphere is so lively and the staff is always super welcoming and sweet. I love it there, highly recommend!!!!

This was my first time at Lira Guzi Salon and I have to say, the ladies at this salon are amazing with the work they do and the services they provide. I came in for an ash blonde Balayge and I also got a U-Cut with face framing layers. When starting out, Autumn went over what I was looking to achieve and also recommended bonding treatment for my hair and I could not be more grateful because my hair feels soooooo soft and smooth. They also did a bouncy blowout and I cannot stop touching my hair because of how good it looks and feels. I also picked up their purple hair mask to help me maintain the color. Once again, as my first salon I’ve visited in Chicago, I don’t think I’ll be going anywhere else because they truly take pride in the work they do and put a lot of effort into it. Also, they have the cutest little pup and she was a joy to have around. Thank you Lira for the quality of your salon and I will be coming back again for my touch-up.❤️

I was hopping from salon to salon looking for a stylist until I finally found the Lira Guiza salon! Autumn has been amazing! I highly recommend this salon to anyone who takes their hair seriously. I went to this salon for the first time ever and trusted the reviews, and I am SO happy I came here! I went to Autumn and she gave me exactly what I asked for and I love that she asked what issues I typically have with my hair so she knows exactly what kind of products to use. Took a chance on this location based off reviews and so glad that I did. My hair was heavy and long and I didn’t know what to do with it anymore and Jen brought it back to life! Definitely found a place to consistently come back to and will be telling my friends and family. (:
