Amira is the best colorist I have ever been to in NYC. She picks the perfect color for each client. After I came home to show my mom and my sisters my new hair, they both booked with her and are absolutely stunned with the work she did. Thank you so much Amira for making me feel beautiful again!

Candis worked a hair miracle. The last person (in July, at a different salon) to do my hair really botched it (I asked for a balayage to help me grow out long-term highlights but instead gave me a single process dye of a very brassy, flat yellow-blond). So I was hesitant to go to someone new but Candis listened to my concerns and very skillfully gave me highlights, a gloss, and a trim that looks very natural. I’m going to be out of the country for 6 months so I told her that I really needed something that would grow out well and she didn’t bat an eye. She is obviously very confident and comfortable with corrective coloring. I am SO grateful to Candis! Worth every penny and I’m glad I found my hair-person!

Rita is the best! So many salons near me but i would rather make the trek to have her cut my curly hair. I recommend her to all my friends. Everyone at the salon is so sweet and truly knows how to make you feel welcomed.

Great hair salon with stylists who truly listen to what you’re asking for. I’ve gotten my haircut with Amira a couple times now and she does not miss. She explains thoroughly how she will style your hair and checks up on you throughout the process. Additional browny points for great music playlists every time.

I have been coming to the PS location for the past few years and have had about 3 different stylists, they've all been great. Currently, I am with Amira, and she's wonderful. She is friendly, caring and explains everything in detail so you understand what the final result will be like, which I find is important in a stylist. I've had my cuts and color here, from balayage, tones, partial highlights, to long cuts, and they've all been great experiences.

I have been going to Little Lion in Park Slope for 3 months now and my experience with everyone-- and especially with Mary has been so great. ❤️ To me, getting your hair done is very personal because it is a 1-on-1 relationship and you have to feel comfortable with your stylist. Mary is warm, kind, listens, and has a great sense of humor!! This is hugely appreciated for me personally. Lol

I went for a haircut yesterday and it was my first time at the salon! The salon is really cute and airy and all the facilities were super clean + they offered tea, wine, etc which I appreciated after work!! I had Rita cut my hair (who is pretty new to the salon) and she was amazing!! She is so sweet, so easy to talk to and so thoughtful when it comes to giving her clients what they want. I explained to her that I was getting married in a few months and didn’t want anything super dramatic since I was growing out my hair and she was very mindful and proactive about taking care of my hair and giving me soft layers for some movement and volume. I love my hair and felt so beautiful leaving the salon. Rita has such good energy and would recommend her to anyone!!

I went to the salon earlier this week and had the most wonderful experience! It was my first time in a salon in a super long time so I was super nervous but my stylist Sam was super nice and a wizard with my hair! She gave me the most prettiest color and layers of my life! Definitely will go back and recommend both the salon and Sam or anyone else!

It’s such an intimate little salon, but everyone in there was really cool and you can tell they’re all happy working there; good vibes! I followed my stylist Candis there, and even though I had the wrong time in my phone, she was still able to get me in. I’ll be back for sure!

I’m not sure why but this salon isn’t as good as its sister salon Fox and Jane (which I’ve gone to for 10 years). I’ve gone several times to Little Lion over the last 3 years, seen several stylists here and really gave it a shot. The actual stylists themselves are okay but culture is strange, like if you’re not satisfied with a cut or color and ask for a correction they’ll actually then tell you that you aren’t a good fit for them, instead of adjusting and building a relationship with you - which is weird. Stylists have been late, have been rude (one stylist yelled at me for not keeping my head straight enough during a blow dry and was rough with me - I have neck pain! Also I’ve never gotten that feedback before in my 30 years of going to salons), another stylist took me on as a client once and did a $400+ hair cut and balayage service but refused to maintain the cut and color (which I actually liked). When I tried to book a follow up appointment she straight up cancelled my appointment and told me she only works with select clients, and only blondes (I’m not white, and that really rules out any non-white or ethnic women, which I also find weirdly selective. She did a great job on my hair cut and color so it wasn’t that she wasn’t good at it - and I was ready to be a loyal client - she just only wants to work with white/blonde women. Brown/black women, you all know that this is quite frankly low key racism). She also initially ignored texts and emails when I asked to clarify about what the issue was with booking, which after an eventual back and forth it became clear that she was trying to keep her client base white/blonde and there really was no other reason. I told the salon’s customer service but they didn’t do anything about it because she is the salon’s manager. Just strange behaviors, micro aggressions and poor customer service all around. I prefer the main Fox and Jane location which has better customer service and has never discriminated based on race. They share the same phone number for booking, and the people on that line are great, but it’s the salon itself where the difference lies. Fox and Jane seems to be run with better ethics and better people.
