If you have curly hair, you know the importance of trust with finding a stylist who will listen, have compassion, and is honest with kindness. My experience with Little Thrills has supported my mental health and how I see myself. Trusting your curly hair in the hands of another, lots of PTSD from years and stylists prior. Finding Cynthia has been life changing. I feel seen, heard, valued and respected when I'm in her presence. She gives me her undivided attention, I never feel rushed, like I said I feel valued as a human being. I'm currently entering peri-menopause land, my hair has been changing. Cynthia has helped me practice my patience and built trust in her process of having my best interest at heart. Being in her energy is soul-care, collaborating feels safe, sharing is welcomed. I never feel guilt/shame/or that I'm too much. My experience is deeper than a haircut, my soul is cared for on a human level that fills my cup in ways I wasn't aware I needed. Little Thrills is a safe space to explore your identity via your hair and heart. And let's not get it twisted, the scalp massage is ON POINT!! So thankful Cynthia is in my life.

If I could give Little Thrills Salon more than five stars, I would! Cynthia is the perfect balance of a creative soul and a studied professional. I come to her for balayage and haircuts for my fine-stranded yet dense wavy blonde hair. She has an excellent sense of what will work well with my face shape, hair type, and skin tone. I've felt disappointed in previous stylists who seemed to give me the rubber stamp trendy hair of the moment instead of taking those factors and my wishes into account. She is a true artist. Additionally, I am a deeply introverted person who dreads those captive hours in a salon chair. Cynthia is a rare person that I feel comfortable talking to. She always puts me at ease and is a refreshing and inspiring person to spend time with. If you still haven't found the "one" when it comes to a hair professional, I would highly recommend you give her a try!

Could not recommend enough! Cynthia is very knowledgeable in her craft and it shows in her work. I always leave her chair with a cute cut and some added confidence. She always takes into consideration my face shape and the desired outcome I want better than any other hairstylist I have met. I have been going to Little Thrills now for years and my only regret is not finding out about it sooner. So many bad cuts I could have avoided. She listens, gets it, and doesn’t pressure you to go for or like something different than what you ask for. I have never had a more flattering cut is all I have to show!

I’ve lived in Austin for almost three years now and had so many different haircut experiences before I came to Little Thrills. I have thick STRAIGHT hair so not that many stylists in Austin can achieve the look I want. I had a hairstylist who made my pixie cut look very stiff in the back with a rat tail which I never asked for. I had another stylist in downtown who used a razor blade to “sculpture” my baby mullet but it came out as more of a pixie cut. So I had trust issues before I came to Little Thrills and not only did Cynthia cut my hair the way I imagined, she also educated me how to style it during our cut. But got really detailed about how to style the look I want. I’ll forever be a client until I die or when I move to another state. Which ever one comes first. I’m just trying to say I love this salon and give it a try. 💕

A few years ago, a coworker came to work with a spectacular new cut. She referred me to Cynthia and I’ve been a regular at Little Thrills ever since! Cynthia’s cutting and layering abilities are second to none. She also works magic with color - my brown highlights are subtle and rich and never brassy. I leave her salon feeling so confident - that’s special :) Exceptional quality and kindness.

Cynthia has really helped me in my hair journey! After growing out all of my grays over Covid, I was ready for a new change but without a lot of upkeep…in comes Cynthia! My grey blended hair is gorgeous AND low maintenance. I definitely recommend Little Thrills Salon!!

Cynthia has honestly made my brunette dreams come true! She’s so attentive and listens so well to what I’m wanting. My hair always comes alive after a visit. I feel like for brunettes, some stylists only know how to color brown a certain way or it kind of always looks the same tone, but Cynthia has hit the mark on my hair dreams for fall and summer. She’s so kind and definitely makes you feel so welcome as well. Would definitely recommend!

I got my hair done about a week ago and I have not stopped twirling around town! I have always had such intense anxiety around getting my hair done, so much that it’s typically years between salon visits. I have thick, long naturally curly hair & have spent my life with people telling me my hair isn’t curly and leaving me unsatisfied after my visits. When I saw Cynthia @ Little Thrills literally everything changed!! She made me feel so safe and seen, I knew I was being taken care of by a Latina queen!!! She completely transformed my hair and I cannot wait to go back to see her!! Not to mention the best conversations during my visit. She kept me in the loop of everything she was doing and gave me tips on how to keep taking care of my hair! She even pointed out some scalp concerns that have always gone unnoticed before so I can continue to take care of my overall health. Loved my experience & cannot recommend enough!!

Cynthia is a magic hair worker in both terms of cut and color. She consistently gives great cuts that last. Her color work is natural and she listens to her clients needs and wants. I had booked an appointment on Wednesday for Saturday early in the morning. I got a message an hour before my appointment (I had gotten ready put makeup on and EVERYTHING) and my appointment time had been REBOOKED by someone else. The stylist asked if I could reschedule for another day. It really just is the principle that I had booked before and was not prioritized.

I serendipitously came across this salon on social media and decided to book an appointment before I moved to another state. That was the biggest mistake I'd done in a while because now I live in a state that does not have Little Thrills Salon! It's been several weeks since my appointment and I can't help but fall in love with my hair every time I style it. Cynthia was so personable and nice AND knowledgeable about hair. It meant so much to have someone validate my natural hair type and texture and help teach me how to work with it instead of against it. Never want to go anywhere else! Obsessed with my new haircut! I had a gut feeling that this was going to be a great experience and i was not wrong! I was SOOOO impressed with how detailed oriented Cynthia is and how good she is at her job! My jaw is on the floor because i haven’t found anyone who could work specifically with my hair needs and for Cynthia was soooo easy and she was so fast at recognizing what was going on and what i was missing! The only person who can actually pull off exactly the look you want. If you ever want a daring change, she is the only person I would trust. I’ve taken her cut to top stylists in New York for blowouts, and they marvel at her cutting technique. I worked in editorial in magazines for over a decade and had access to some of the top hair stylists, including Stephen Knoll and Mark Garrison, and I’ve never had anyone as good as Cynthia. I’m so grateful she is in Austin so I don’t have to travel for cuts or color. She keeps my black hair glossy and the right cool shade. Plus, she is exact with root touch ups, and I don’t have to hide after a sloppy work around my hairline.. For blowouts, she is THE best—and can pull it off fast. She finishes a perfect blowout on long hair like mine in 30 minutes flat. And it stays forever. I like her flexibility, too. (Sundays, Mondays…) If you are lucky to get with her, you will never leave. And prepare for the onslaught of people who want to know who does your hair.

Wow! I found Cynthia's salon through an instagram ad and I'm so glad I did! I told her what I wanted and she absolutely nailed it on the head! I had just long unshapely hair and I told her I wanted something that framed my face and layered and it was SO SO beautiful. If you're thinking of booking her, I highly recommend! I have been a client in Austin for four years and I will see no one else. Cynthia is incredibly talented and takes the time to figure out what you want and learn what works best for you. She supports small businesses and has evolved her own. Since she is no longer based in Austin, it can be a little challenging to schedule an appointment but she is so worth the wait! I haven’t seen her since Nov/Dec 19 (it is now June 20), and though my hair definitely needs a touch up/some tlc, it has still grown out beautifully...because that’s just how good she is. Her color skills are fantastic, as is her precision. And she’s just fun to be around!
