April took care of my hair. She listened to how I wanted it cut, and the color that best fit me. It's beautiful! She has a beautiful spirit and I really enjoyed talking with her. I feel very comfortable going back for my next appointment with her.😄

The best loc experience I have ever had! They are all experts and made me feel so comfortable. They also fixed my hair after it being damaged (unbeknownst to me). Can’t say enough good things!

Delisha was great to talk with. I also was not seen until 20 minutes or so after my scheduled appointment. I was not sure why it was expensive to retwist and style my locks because I don't have that many, and I didn't really have that many choices of styles due to the length of her locks. I will definitely be exploring other options when it's time to retwist. That was also my first time going to a shop to get my locks retwisted I have been doing them myself, and they are healthy, so lol.

After receiving recommendations from friends, I went online to the Lockstar website, and created an account. I was interested in microlocs so I payed $30 for a consultation and reached out via the site on 2/3/2023 to start the process. The next morning 2/4/2023 I received an email asking me for two-three pictures of my hair and stating they would call me on 2/5/2023 to schedule a consultation. Well I guess my hair pictures scared them off because I still haven't heard anything and it's been a week. I have reached out and not received a response. It is 2/9/2023. This is extremely disappointing and demoralizing because I was really hoping to work with them to get my locs installed and instead I've had a week where I've wondered if it was always the intention to take my money or if my hair was simply "too much". I've found someelse that will be helping me through this very personal journey but buyer bearer here. They might take your money and run and/or they may just ignore you after outreach.

I called previously to schedule an appointment and inquire for pricing. While getting my locs interlocked I noticed that the loctician who was doing my hair was not skilled and the process was very slow..I was aware they charged based on time and not the amount of locs like most places. That wouldn’t bother me as much if my loctician was going to the front for like 30 minutes. Some of my locs are still tight. The loctician was very sweet and nervous but was NOT skilled. No shade, but I feel Like the shampoo girl did my hair. Also after asking about my price another stylist was confrontational when all I wanted to know is why are you charging me $200 for a re-tie of 87 locks.. Update: after going to another loctician, they checked my locks and her reaction was “why did they play in your hair like that?” Some of my locks weren’t even interlocked … just loose hair. The shaft of the lock had to do some reconstructing. Some of interlocks weren’t pushed all the way through creating a KNOT! I have 87 locs and in no way it should have taken over 90 minutes. The experience is cute, they’ll provide drinks and snacks, but all over I would not trust them with my hair.

I have been going to Lockstar for over a year now. Brittany started my locs beautifully and I still come here for my retwists! They take good care of your hair and I really appreciate how well they have helped me along my loc journey. I recommended this shop to a friend who is looking to start her own locs!

I love Lockstar! I love the salon's atmosphere and vibe. I have been a customer for over 10 years. My stylist is April and she's amazing! I'm always happy with my style and color and I get lots of compliments on my locs. I also love her natural hair products, oils, and candles.

I received the interlocking service, and DeLisha did an excellent job. She was friendly, professional, personable, and had just overall good energy. I plan to keep her as my Loctitian. The shop is in a great location, and has a bright, comfortable, inviting feel. I left there smelling, and feeling excellent.

I walked out the salon after paying almost $200 and you couldn't tell the difference as if I had done it myself. The loctician had an attitude and I called back to file a complaint. I spoke to the owner asking the appointment be canceled and stlll receiving alerts about an upcoming appointment. I will drive to Texas over allowing anymore Charlotte Stylist disrespect me. I am on time and before time, I tip and I support the business by purchasing items in this shop. If my support is rewarded in jackleg services, I'm good!

Our first two appointment was so great. My son was happy and loved all the nice compliments he was getting. My son has autism with severe social anxiety. We had an appointment schedule for June 27th but our stylist called and ask if we could reschedule , due to being OOT. So we rescheduled for June 19th. Arrived at 8:15am for an 8:30am appointment. The building had no lights on the door was locked and we knocked but no one came. I called the numbers included on my confirmation email. No answer and no one return callback. I stopped by when they were open and explained to receptionist what happen. She stated that Shakeyta might had forgot and she will have her call me. Well some time went by no phone call. So I called back later and was told Shakeyta was busy with a client and couldn’t talk but she said that she DID come to the appointment. We sat for an hour in the parking lot and NO ONE came . So since this was a little complicated the owner will need to call me and work this out. She said she will let April know and to expect a call from her, guess what I haven’t received a call yet it’s been 2 weeks. Shakeyta does a great job, but she lied she never came to the shop on June 19th. Am sad bc she lied!!! I Wish you continued success. But remember communication is key for a nice successful business and being trustworthy! God bless you and have a great week!

Shakeyta did an amazing job on my hair for my wedding day and beyond. My loc retwist is still going strong after 3 weeks of working out and a whole wedding and honeymoon. I used methods to protect my hair from the water. Usually when I retwist my hair after sweating my retwist is done not this time. April has great young women working with her.

Very talented and professional natural hair stylist. Micole is my stylist, she's the best hands down. I come from DC every few months just so she can continue to care for my hair. If you're looking for an experience where you hair will be properly taken care of, styled and you will receive the knowledge to properly care for your own hair without oily store bought products that don't really do anything for your hair but make it smell good

Wonderful, relaxing experience! I love the vibe of the transformed warehouse unit that's the salon. I was immediately greeted and checked in. My stylist, Micole, was very attentive by asking about my haircare routine, reiterating my requested service, and explaining the natural products as she used them on my hair. Throughly enjoyed the scalp massage and the scent of lemon, eucalyptus from the shampoo/conditioner. I love my 2 strand twist bob hair style.
