I wish I could give Locs by Lawanda more stars. She was very knowledgeable, inviting, and professional. I was able to make an informed decision about getting sister locs and she answered all of my questions. The install was quicker than I expected and the environment was relaxing. This was the best decision to choose Ms. Lawanda to start my journey.

This is my first time getting sisterlocks. I found Locs by LaWanda from my BFF and her daughter. After my consultation and watching their locs from the beginning to present, I decided to start my journey. I found her to be very knowledgeable about locking. Her shop is very professional, calming and relaxing. She finished in less time than anticipated. Something new and getting use to.

I am so happy I decided to get sisterlocs! Lawanda did sisterlocs for my daughter over 4 years ago, so I had already seen her talent. The price was the only thing stopping me, but let me tell you her skills are worth every penny! I am so happy with my locs! Thank you Lawanda for my hair freedom. And Lady's, if you are looking for someone cheaper, just remember you get what pay for.

I began my research into natural hair alternatives in 2022 when my hair started falling out due to an unwanted "trim" by a previous stylist. I knew I wanted something that was low maintenance and found Sisterlocks as a solution. I had seen several different Loctitians who told me my hair (pics provided) was way too short to start any kind of lock and to try and grow it out before attempting this journey. Well, that was not really a possibility for me as my hair was constantly falling out and not growing. I finally found Locs by Lawanda and did my consult on May 23, 2023. I discussed what I knew and she was very open and detailed about the process and lifelong maintenance of Sisterlocks. I told her my concerns about having to wait because of the length of my hair and she thought it was crazy when I told her no other Loctitian would help. She told me there was more than enough to work with and on July 5, 2023, I started my 2-day install. It's been 8 months and my hair is doing something I hadn't thought possible: growing and looking healthier than it has in years and I couldn't be more grateful for Lawanda and her amazing expertise. Not only did she believe she could help me and my situation, but she also educated me about my dry scalp and found solutions to help control it. She is not only a Loctitian but an instructor as well, teaching others the art of Sisterlocks. She is very knowledgeable, professional and takes pride in her work. If you're in doubt about starting because you've met with the same resistance about the length of your hair, I URGE you to reach out to Lawanda first before giving up. After researching sisterlocks for 2years….On 2/19/24 I started my loc journey.I had the pleasure of having Lawanda install my sister locks. Lawanda was very knowledgeable and professional she made my experience very enjoyable, over the 2 day install she scheduled in breaks and lunches each day to make sure that we were both getting up and moving around. The education that she provided to me as she worked quickly through the install was much needed she assured me that this journey would be exciting and she would be there to support me along the way. I must say after all the reassurance and a 15 hour installation I couldn’t be happier! This journey is personal! ESTABLISHED 2/20/24.Thanks Lawanda 💜

Five Star Service! Classy! Experienced! Lawanda was a true professional. She was very helpful throughout process. During my consultation she made me feel relaxed and answered any concerns I might have. Days before my appointment she sent a reminder of my appointments and expectations. The day of my appointment I packed my lunch and prepared for a long day, surprisingly after talking, and laughing the day was not long at all. She gave me her undivided attention and focused was all on me! We paused for a lunch-break, then started back. The next day the same process, towards the end she begin sharing how much she had remaining. This was comforting to know we was near the end. LaWanda made all my anxiousness go away because she communicated the entire process. I’m extremely pleased with my results, and can’t wait until the growth begin!

I found Locs by Lawanda on Instagram and started following her while I tried to decide if I wanted to start my loc journey. I’d always been anxious yet nervous about locing my hair. After communicating on the phone and via text I traveled from Louisville, KY to Jacksonville, FL to be blessed by her hands. I’m now a couple days shy of one week and I am so happy I made the choice to start my loc journey with her. She is professional and friendly with a warm and inviting workspace. Her consultation is very detailed, you can tell she's very knowledgeable and loves what she does. She is very transparent, explains everything she is doing and will let you know the ins and outs of the process of having and maintaining beautiful locs. CONSULTATION: I left my Sisterlocks consultation feeling even more confident about moving forward with my Sisterlocks journey decision. Lawanda truly took the time to go in depth with the history , showed me pictures , illustrations and she answered all my questions . And , she gave me the reassurance to contact her if any other questions or concerns came to mind post consultation . This was the top 🔝 notch point for ME because I felt her compassion, sincerity & honesty for her profession being a certified Sisterlocks consultant when she answered my questions and gave advice and for me it was a green light because that’s a very BIG DEAL for me being a “straight up “ person ! ESTABLISHMENT DAYS - were complete positive vibes ! Very welcoming , clean atmosphere ,relaxing that the time flew by very fast to me. Lawanda took her time with my hair and we had mini breaks and lunch time. Mrs. Lawanda is absolutely amazing. I signed up for the mentorship academy. So far I have attended the first one on one session where she provided me tons of knowledge and resources when it comes to establishing a Sisterlocks™️ business. She took her time to walk me through the process from start to success. I asked what seemed to be like a million questions. she was extremely patient and answered everyone of them with such grace and confidence. I could literally go on for hours about how amazing she is. Called to see if they re twist dreads lady stated only doees sister locs im new to this area but not new to dreads sister locks and dreads are the same except for the size all i asked for a re twist easy $100 but instead i get hung up on Plus retwist is easier then sister locks common get it together how are you a salon with only one specialty i support black business but you didn’t think this one through

I wanted to start this journey many years ago, but I was hung up on cutting my hair. Now, entering the 50 club, I’m ready. It’s hard when you’re ready, and the stars don’t line up for you. I thank God, He looks out for me, and He allowed me to continue to meet people who were positive and encouraging. I found LaWanda back in August on Instagram, but she wasn’t taking clients. I found another consultant and almost made the worst decision of my life. The consultant was charging more than what was reasonable, so by the Grace of God, she cancelled my appointment, returned my deposit and let me without a consultant. I DM’d LaWanda, and she was taking new clients; so we met and the rest is history. LaWanda was on time, professional, and very nice. I look forward to a great journey with her as my consultant. Sisterlocks is a lifetime commitment so it could be a good idea to interview at least 2 different locticians and choose the one that’s right for you. I chose Lawanda, She’s was prompt and thorough. She’s friendly, knows her trade, and her technique didn’t hurt my head. I have fine and low density hair so I was a scared for the outcome. When Lawanda was finish I walked out of her salon. All I can say “I did it hallelujah” I felt Great!!! They way she style my hair automatic boost my confidence. The service I received during my installation was excellent. The environment was very peaceful. Mrs Lawanda was so detailed oriented, professional and considerate of all my concerns. Mrs Lawanda answered all my questions and explained all my worries away. At the end of my installation service she provided me with a nice size gift bag that consisted of everything I needed to care for my Locks until I return; including full size products this took the fear away of learning how to care for my Locks. There’s a good reason why sometimes she’s unable to take new clients and you’re placed on a waiting list (like I had to be). But her work and service proves it. From the consultation to the install, my needs were met. I totally recommend anyone interested in sisterlocs, arrange to have them done by LaWanda. Another confident selling point to me, was seeing that she has sisterlocs herself. The space is CLEAN, there’s no other clients waiting for service so you get that one on one time and her workplace is not a hangout (it’s quiet and it made me feel more comfortable). ~Johnnetta
