Loft 26 provided me with hair and makeup for a recent gala and I had the best experience. The process was very professional and accommodating. They offered specialized insight about scheduling that allowed me to travel seamlessly from the salon and arrive at my event right on time. Stacey made curly magic out of my hair, which is notoriously straight, and Tawni’s makeup skills added much needed glamour. My friends loved the look and I felt amazing. Would definitely recommend Stacey and Loft 26 if you need special event hair and makeup. You won’t regret it!

The story goes... I walk into a dead salon in the middle of a Saturday afternoon with about 4-6 stylists inside, 3 of them sitting in their chairs. I'm looking for Kevin Murphy products because I see it's one of the salons in NY that carries these products. I stand at the entrance looking at the products for a bit and wait for someone to help me with the products that are in BACK of the front desk — nothing. Key words here: Saturday afternoon in a salon that is dead. 3 free stylists. No acknowledgement, no help. Keep in mind, this place isn't on the first floor. It's on the 12th. You're not just going to get randos waltzing in. You have to FIND this place. I leave. As I'm waiting to take the elevator finally someone (who was clearly in the middle of a coloring service) comes and asks if I need something, so thank you to her, but at this point it's too late and I'm over it. Be warned. Any salon that ISN'T booked on a Saturday is a bad sign. Look elsewhere. Lastly, I'd expect any salon that carries high end products like Kevin Murphy and R+Co products to have a higher standard of customer service. Good luck.

I rented a chair here through ArtistOnGo (both in the past and recently) and my last confirmed booking was suddenly canceled on me and I had a half hour to find a new salon and notify my client. I was also shoved in a corner with the chair off to the side. The dress code is stated as 'casual chic' but was given a strict dress code after my last booking. In my 22 years of standing behind the chair, this is by far the most unprofessionally I've been treated. There was no regard for me, my business and my clients. I felt completely ostracized based on the way I look.

Loren at Loft 26 first-rate! She's been coloring my hair for a few years now, and I always walk out of the salon with my hair looking exactly as I want it. I can't tell you how many compliments I've gotten on the color of my hair since I've been seeing her. Not only do I love the way Loren does my color, but she is also a warm and lovely person - wonderful to be around. When making appointments, she is flexible and accomodating. She's a gem! I highly recommend Loren at Loft 26!

No checking of vaccination status of anyone walking in, and almost no workers or clients masked. Met with annoyance from the owner when I requested masking. She suggested I make no further appointments.

I have been going to Loft 26 for nearly 10 years. Loren is my colorist and Stacey cuts my hair. They are both amazing! I'm one of those people that doesn't know exactly what I want/need and they are always there with suggestions on exactly what shade I should go with and how it should be styled. They are also great with recommendations on haircare products. Additionally, I have a very sensitive scalp and sometimes need to switch up the line of hair color products I use. They are super accommodating. The salon itself is great and very comfortable. I love that it isn't on a main floor with windows that strangers walking by can look in on. Nothing worse than sitting there with all the hair color on your scalp and having people on the street walking by and looking in. The salon is beautiful - great decor and comfortable.

Stacey at Loft 26 is truly the most talented and amazing hair stylist. She has been giving me gorgeous cuts for the past two years. Also she made all my hair dreams come true for my wedding in October! Stacey is not only talented but also such a kind and fun person to be around. She made my wedding day extra special. Loft 26 is a very relaxing salon to get hair services done. They also have the best products to chose from! Thank you for everything Stacey!! Laurie

Amazing care in a very chill airy loft space (no attitude and you can feel the collaborative vibe among stylists). Great products, too like Oribe and Phyto - staff is so efficient and always runs on time. An overall wonderful experience!! Easy scheduling via email or text when needed, late hours and most take Venmo for tips which is super handy! See owner Stacey for signature cuts and Loren for gorgeous color - both do fantastic blowouts! They are industry experts and run hugely successful wedding hair & styling biz. You will walk out feeling like new!

I have been going to Loren for over 10 years and she is an amazing colorist. My natural hair color is a mousy brown but thanks to Loren it's now a beautiful blonde! She uses the Brazilian Bond Builder mixed in with the lightener so my hair is super shiny and not dry or damaged after highlights. My hair can be a little frizzy on bad weather days and in the summer so Loren recommended the Cezzanne smoothing treatment. Well let me tell you, it's a game changer! No more frizz and my blowout time has been cut in half. I love Loren and the chill welcoming vibe at Loft 26 Salon.

I’ve been going to Loren for my hair color at Loft 26 for over 6 years now. She is THE BEST colorist I’ve had in my 20+ years living in NYC, and I’ve had many, some at quite high end salons. Thanks to Loren my honey hued highlights (on my brunette base) look sunkissed every single time. Loren is a genius at achieving the exact natural beachy look that I want and also at toning down the color with subtlety when I am leaning in that direction. I am extremely picky about my hair color and would not trust anyone other than Loren. HIGHLY, highly recommend.

thus is my go to place for cur and color. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Stacey (cut) and Loren (color) have been doing my hair for over 25 years. Highly recommend them and the salon which is always a pleasant relaxing environment. Plus, I always get to cuddle with Penelope Plum, the solan’s greyhound mascot!

Absolute joke. Just waited 35 minutes past my scheduled appointment time, and was still not even acknowledged after checking in. Ashame that people can take such little pride in their work or have so little respect for others. Dozens of places nearby who care. Couldn't rate this place lower.
