So I've been here a handful of times and have referred people there. There's one stylist, which I'm sure is the owner, and he runs this place alone. Always has good prices ($30 for wash/blow/trim & $13 for wash only). He's very quick with what he does for me, and I'm always out no more than an hour. However, last night, as I'm waiting for my laundry to dry across the street, I went in for a wash only (I have very curly hair, and it gets tangles). After my wash, I sat in the chair, and the way he washed my hair created 2 dreadlocks. I told him to hand me a brush so I could help him, and he refused. He brushed out my hair while it got dry very fast and didn't continuously spray with water/condition it to help detangle the dreads he created, so it was just ripping out my hair. I'm not a hair stylist, and I know how to treat someone's head. When he was done he didn't tell me a price so I figured it was what I usually pay for the same wash only ($13), so I handed him $20 and didn't expect change figuring it was a little longer than usual but he created the dreads the way he washed my hair twisting it etc.. he proceeded to say my hair was too much and to not come back. As a stylist, he should know how to deal with all types of hair, not just straight fine hair. Also, he didn't tell me a price like I said, so I just handed him some extra for undoing the mess he created, and he seemed disappointed. P.S. I gave him 2 stars, but now I have to knock it down to one because not only did he mess up doing my hair carelessly, I had to come home to rewash with conditioner, to then separate 8 chunks of knots by my fingertips with conditioner in it. I didn't need a brush to do so, but look at all these chunks left in my hair by him AFTER he "detangled/ripped out my 2 dreadlocks" that he caused by washing my hair twisting it side to side. I feel so bald now, and my hair is completely uneven. I really should have just done it myself, but I figured why not treat myself a little, and he's never been so careless before.
