The nails are so lumpy and uneven. I was cut twice and they used tools that they used on other people after that. It felt like the older gentleman was scrapping my nail beds when attempting to clean up my cuticles. I was supposed to get a polish change on my toes but left. He also did an awful job shaping them and making them even.

Promised my 13 year old daughter gel manicure for getting good grades. The entire manicure and design lasted 10 minutes which included time she washed her own hands, and was charged $44. No lotion or massage at all. She had her hands soak for about 20 seconds. The bad part is there was only one other customer and about 4 workers so there was no reason to rush the manicure. When I told the lady while I was paying, she offered to give “more lotion”. This was the second bad experience in a row so I definitely won’t go back and wouldn’t recommend anyone else to. My daughter was incredibly disappointed as this was her first manicure. Oh, the end result was also a very uneven, bumpy polish.

The most unprofessional place, I got a pedicure (the worse one I’ve ever had btw) and I was trying to find out where the Tracy who usually takes care of me was gonna return and they refused to answer when she would be back, then said she was on vacation and then said she no longer works there. Very very very rude and unnecessary. All because they wanted the business and then started speaking about me in their language like as if people don’t understand them!!

Just want to give a shout out to the nail tech that took good care of me, I think her name is Kristina, she took her time and did an awesome job. My nails were damaged and she made them look flawless, and she gives a quick hand/arm massage! Thank you!

My daughter and I had a 1 pm appointment - we weren't walk ins. About 2 minutes after we sat down, a group of nine people came in - all family and friends of the workers. Our experience after that was really rushed. They charged my daughter for gels that she did not ask for, so a pedicure that she thought would be $30, cost over $50. To make matters worse, the polish came off one of her toes within hours. It was my first pedicure, and I was 100% underwhelmed. I won't go back.

I've been coming here for years! Everyone is so wonderful! Special shout out to Lilly; she does the best eyelash extensions (and nails). Kim has always been so friendly, attentive, and also does an amazing job with as well. My mom saw Mike today for a pedicure and just loved him! He took his time, didn't rush, and made her super comfortable. I always recommend this place when anyone asks for recommendations!

Absolutely LOVE this business. My piggies and nails are always feeling and looking their best after a trip here. The atmosphere is peaceful, tranquil and very social. The staff treat you with great care and consideration. Always making certain you're comfortable and relaxed, I HIGHLY recommend Lotus Nails..

I thought I would try this salon again because it is closer to home. But... I will not return. Everyone is super nice. But the older lady that did my pedicure used equipment/tools that came out of a dirty box that was completely full of junk. That reason alone I won't go back. She didn't get the polish I wanted. And omgosh the polish was all over my toes. Then on my toe nails she didn't get polish on the nails. Didn't cut the cuticles, totally disappointed, I don't ever fuss I just pay the bill and never return. In the picture I already cleaned up my toes of the polish then decided to take a picture of the polish job .

Service was reasonable. Facility wasn’t as clean and hygienic as I hoped. There was dust/nail dust all over the table surface where I got a manicure. I got a dip manicure and was never prompted to wash my hands before sticking fingers in the shared container of dip. Admittedly, that’s pretty common, but nonetheless it’s not good practice.

I had an appointment at 5pm and arrived a few minutes early. I was taken back immediately. The water in the foot basin was cold and even though I mentioned to nail tech she never adjusted the temperature. She quickly cut my nails, dabbed on polish ( I had to ask for top coat), and I was done at 5:25pm. The entire process felt very rushed.

I love this place! Mike is amazing. He is detailed, helpful, patient, and does the best nails I have gotten in Charlottesville. Amazing shape, and I have LOVED my nails the past two time he has done them for me. I will be coming back for mike!!

I had given up on finding a place for me to get pampered. I took a chance on Lotus and am glad I did. The massage chairs are the BEST. The customer service is amazing! Christina really sets the bar. I left feeling like I made a new friend. When I came back, that was proven. The prices are how they should be. Please don't change a thing Lotus!!

I set my standards pretty low when it comes to cleanliness in decent priced nail salons in this town so the reuse of tools and such didn't come as much of a surprise. The technician(Mike I believe) did a really great job, didn't cut me or anything and the polish looks wonderful. The price is good the work was relatively good and I didn't get an infection this time. but it does feel as though I may be taking a chance anytime I go. I may risk it though cause I found a great color lol

I've been going to Lotus Nails for years. Everyone there does a great job. Friendly place. When I stopped working in C'ville, I looked for another salon closer to home; I now make the drive to Lotus Nails. The drive is worth it.

Last minute today I decided I wanted a pedicure before Thanksgiving. I live close by so I stopped in and was able to get a pedicure right away. Nancy was my nail technician and she was so sweet! The pedicure was so relaxing I ended up also requesting a manicure. I wanted some glitter and fall colors, I’ll definitely be back! Thank you, Nancy! 🧡

My nail technician was very kind and friendly and I enjoyed my experience. HOWEVER, my friend had an extremely rude and unkind nail technician. It was the weekend of my friends wedding and she asked to try one quick thing on one nail to see if she liked it. She did not like it. Well, the lady doing her nails was so unkind and got in her face about it and made her feel awful and like she was a major inconvenience, saying things like “oh you said you wanted this, now you don’t, you keep changing your mind. I already asked you twice about this.” Etc… it was quite appalling. Because of this, I will not be returning.

This week I went in for pedicures with my daughter and a friend of ours. We all three wanted a basic pedicure. The friend and I had gel polish and my daughter had regular polish. With the gel polish, the friend and I had to soak our toenails in a foil acetone wrap before the pedicure started. When the acetone wraps came off my tech, Tess, immediatley started working on removing the polish on one foot while the other foot soaked in the warm foot bath. Tess alternated my feet from the warm foot bath- polish removal ustil it was time to trim nails and cuticals before starting polish. As we were getting the pedicures done it was apparent we were not all getting the same services. My friend was not given a foot bath to soften her cuticals prior to cutting. When she spoke up about the services included in a basic pedicure and what she was receiving, her tech, Joy, immediatly assumed my friend was questioning the price of the pedicure. She was not...she pointed out that she was not given a foot bath and her feet were not soaked in the water like mine had been. Joy argued that she could not massage her legs until the polish was on becasue oils would interfere with polishing. At this point I spoke up and said the price was not the issue it was the order the procedure was taking place. I said that my friend's feet were not being soaked and cuticals were not being trimmed prior to the painting of the nails. My nails were being soaked and the lady next to me spoke up and said her nails were also being soaked. So, the question we were asking was "Why aren't her nails being soaked, trimmed and then polished?" Joy stated that that is just the way she did it, she had 15 years experience, and things are done differently in DC versus Charlottesville and Richmond. Still we pushed further and said that we have never seen a dry pedicure done. Tess asked if my friends feet had been soaked and Joy replied "No." Tess told me that the order is for gel polish removal is 1. Nails are soaked in acetone wrap to loosen polish. 2. Wraps come off, 1 foot soaks in water to soften cuticals and feet are alternated between drummel and soaking. 3. Nails and cuticals are trimmed. 4. Nails are polished. 5. Legs are massage. My friend tried to stop her prior to painting to get her nails and cuticles soaked before and for the trim to occur prior to painting. Lily, another tech, offered to have the tape pulled, we said okay. My friend was not disputing the cost of the basic pedicure, just that Joy had only done a color change with nothing else. No soak, no trim, or cuticle cut. Joy stated it was her discretion on what services my friend receievd based on need. So basically, here is an example of Joy's explanations...if you paid for the service that offers hot rocks and Joy decided you did not need hot rocks, then you would not get them and will still be charged for them. If it had not been for Tess, it would have been a total loss. My daughter and I have been going here for many years! We have our own thoughts on the treatment of our friend and will be looking elsewhere for nail service. This does make me sad, because the owners of this business are truly kind and good people.

I went to Lotus Nails in Charlottesville on my birthday earlier this month. I usually go to 1 of 2 other local nail salons, but my friend and I decided to go here due to convenience. I got a gel manicure. Not only did I get lots of air bubbles on my nails (which didn’t look good), but I ended up with an extremely painful infection in my thumb. I had to get it drained at urgent care and was also put on antibiotics. Trust the reviews that say this place is not sterile. This trip to the nail salon cost me a lot more than I was expecting. 😖
