there is no one else I trust enough to cut, color, and style my hair !!! as a queer nonbinary who just moved back to the Midwest, I wanted to embrace part of my queerness through my hair, but was nervous… Syd made me feel comfortable and safe to explore my identity through this method of art and I feel grateful. the salon itself is welcoming and kind. thank you Syd <33

Best haircut/self-care sesh!!! Geena is an artist and made my curly hair come Alive with her mastery. She made me feel right at Home and created exactly what I was hoping for. Her product recommendations were phenomenal, and I am in love with the product line she introduced me to. The salon has luminous [Lumine: the Light within] vibes and the staff is lovely. 100% recommend for your hair and style journey!

I cannot say enough good things about my appointment with Syd! I had never had a consultation so in depth before an appointment before and it was actually very helpful to be asked some of the questions and get help finding some of the answers!! Plus the conversation and the service were both 10/10. If this salon accepted gratuity I would’ve left a huge one! Will definitely be recommending to any/everyone! Photos are a before and after!

Frankie exceeded all of my expectations. I had a hairstylist I loved before moving to the KC area and was DREADING having to find someone new, but Frankie was everything I was looking for. He listened to my needs and made sure the cut was exactly what I was looking for. He's a delight to talk to and amazing with the scissors. So glad I found someone new I can trust with my hair!

Frankie is amazing! He listened to everything I said and we ended up with a perfect haircut/style. I was transitioning from a high undercut to a shaggy pixie. I love my new cut and will definitely back to see Frankie in the future. Everyone at the salon are incredibly professional, personable, and friendly.

I find that a haircut usually looks best when it’s freshly cut and styled by a professional, but I have been living in my haircut for a week, and it looks just as good as when I left the salon. Syd took extra care to listen to what I was looking for in a haircut, what I didn’t want, and how I typically manage my hair. Taking all of this into consideration, as well as my various growth and curl patterns and my face and head shape, he delivered a completely customized haircut, and it’s the best haircut I’ve ever had! I’ve never felt more confident to rock my natural hair.

I had a great time with Syd. price was really fair and the tip is included in the price. I was very nervous at first since I hadn't had a haircut in a while, and the last time turned out really bad. It felt so comfortable and like I was just talking to a regular friend almost. He did a great job at understanding what I wanted as well. I was explaining pretty badly too. He asked me if I wanted his opinion and I said yes, and he did a great job at knowing what would be good for me, and even brought something up that I forgot to mention I wanted. I think Syd is an amazing option for more alternative haircuts that aren't from yourself at home with bad tools. Even better option for lgbt people to feel comfortable in a salon. Thank you so so much.

In the gold mine of Lumine lies Frankie. Frankie is an amazing hair artist and stylist that makes you look the best that you possibly can, even if you look like me. To Frankie, you are a block of clay and he molds you into a statue of David. Not only is he very talented, easy to talk to, has a great personality, is witty and funny, but he is also one of the most open-minded and genuinely wonderful people you could ever have the pleasure of meeting. Five stars all around! And as a side note, Mandy makes a mean cup of coffee.

Syd was amazing. He made me feel very comfortable and asked me questions to ensure I was getting the cut I truly wanted. And he walked me through the styling process so I could recreate it at home. It turned out fantastic and I feel so cool!

frankie was incredible!! i’ve put off my first haircut in KC bc i was nervous about finding a new stylist, but i shouldn’t have worried at all! frankie was thorough and lovely and he really understood how to handle my uneven curl pattern. can’t wait to come back!
