Mad Salon is my go to salon for color and cuts. Martin saved me years ago from a really bad haircut from someone else. Since then, I have followed him from Elk Grove to North Natomas, and I will be a client as long as there is hair on my head. But hoping that is never an issue. Lol

I've been here a total of 4 times (twice with different stylists). The last two times (this July and October) were with David. In August, David cut my hair the exact length I wanted however did not wash all of the shampoo/conditioner out. I left with oily hair. This time around, I went in to go shorter and gave permission to wet my hair not wash it (I didn't want to risk him not washing all of it out). I have a lot of hair so it's not something that you can rinse for minute and think it's good to go. I specifically said I wanted my hair to touch the top of my shoulders and the same length all around, no layers. He only cut the front part of my head the length I wanted, leaving the rest to be shorter than the front. His excuse was "bc I have ears and it fluffs up". After he blowdryed my hair he asked if I wanted him to cut the front to match the rest of the hair and this is where I could really tell that he cut the rest shorter than what I wanted. I was highly annoyed especially when I pointed it out that he cut it shorter, his response was "can you let me finish my job!" I'm highly disappointed and with his lack of professionalism, I see why they run through hairdressers.

Hair dresser ran out of time because we were 15-minutes late and the bleaching took longer than expected. However, don't let the child out with soaking hair. Other than that, service was great.

Meg and Angelique have always been so wonderful about getting our hairs to look amazing! My two daughters and I always look forward to coming to see them. We enjoy talking with them as we get our hair cuts and catching up! They are professional and courteous. They always ask if we are satisfied with their work after the styling. If there is any adjustments that need to be made, they are more than willing to make it happen, because sometimes you never know the results until they style it! ❤️ Thanks for another wonderful experience!-----Priscilla, Madison, & Lauren

I had my hair cut by Angelique Valera, who did an AMAZING job! She had such a tender touch and was knowledgeable about my curly-wavy hair. She was lovely giving helpful pointers to care for my hair and styling tips. I loved the haircut she gave me for summer.

Horrible and unprofessional. Simply ripoff, don't waste your money by going there. They overcharged me and did not do the right highlights rather said color will show after 5 to 6 washes. They are ridiculous.

I said it burned, so much. I've gotten my hair done for years, I know what hair bleach is supposed to feel like. Just sadness. Now my scalp is blistering and bleeding.

I went in before Thanksgiving because the stylist said she could take me from dark brown to blonde without major damage. She dropped dye in my eye and dripped solution on my shirt that damaged it. She was able to get the color I wanted but I discovered when I got home major chunks of my hair were missing. There's no way she didn't notice and she didn't tell me during the appointment. She styled my hair back before I left the salon so I wouldn't know at the time. She also rushed me towards the end and didn't offer to trim me because she had another client after me. I knew there was a risk of some damage but I really feel tricked and stupid for paying that much money just to have to chop all my hair off right after that appointment. My hair is incredibly short now I lost almost all of it.

The lady was nice hair turned out good, but they quoted me 150 and then ended up being 230 for a haircut and single color. I was in shock. I've never paid that much for my hair, even with full highlights!! Plus, there was color all over my scalp. I had to scrub off myself. A little to over priced for me. So just beware.

Welcoming, Clean and Professional! These are just a few words to describe my experience at MAD Salon. After having a very difficult year, I was in need of a relaxing facial. Entering the salon I was greeted with a warm friendly smile by the receptionist named Thomas. I was then presented with a beverage and introduced to my aesthetician Erica. I was then escorted to the room where I was to receive my facial. The room was very clean and smelt amazing. My aesthetician Erica was thorough, knowledgeable and understood what my skin needed. I highly recommend this salon for anyone needing a break from the chaos of everyday life.

Wish I could give less than one star. They apparantly do not care about keeping appointments as I waited nearly 20 minutes after when my time was and she was still not done with the previous client. No updates from the unhelpful front desk person. Basically treated like moldy roast beef. Never going back.

Everything I hoped for in a hair salon! Marty was the stylist for both me and my daughter. I had a haircut, hair coloring and highlights, and my daughter had a haircut and later returned for a Keratin treatment. When I came to Marty the first time I had done the Covid DIY haircoloring and haircut. Bad decision! My hair was a nightmare. I had a brassy red color and completely uneven cut. I thought it was going to take multiple sessions to correct the color, but when I left the first time I loved my hair color and the cut was exactly what I asked for. My daughter went to Marty as well before she returned to college, and is constantly texting me pictures of how great her hair looks, and about how great the Keratin treatment was for her hair. Her hair was really frizzy and the weather where she goes to school makes it ten times worse. When she would spend an hour outside she was just having to put her hair in a scrunchy. After the Keratin treatment her hair is not getting frizzy through out the day, it feels soft and looks beautiful. While having my hair styled I also get to watch David work his magic on clients as well. Marty and David are both very talented and the person that works at the reception desk goes out of the way to make you feel comfortable. Every appointment so far has been just an over all great experience.

Marty is a genius. This was my first time in there and I showed him a couple photos of what I like and we talked about my highlights which had been almost a year old. First- the atmosphere is fun and all the guys working there are friendly and welcoming and felt comfortable immediately, even though I have some anxiety about new settings. Second- I love, love, love my hair! Marty cut it exactly how I wanted it and the highlights are beautiful, he took such meticulous care with them. I paid a lot more than I was used to, but I don't care, totally worth it!

This was the most traumatic salon experience I have ever had. I booked an appointment in early December for early January after a consultation with stylists Richard. I had bright red/copper hair and wanted to do a balayage with pink highlights and a dark root. They told me it would be no problem and to schedule the appointment. I put down the $100 deposit and waited for my appointment on 1/5. I got a call the day of my appointment and was informed my stylist was drunk and didn't show up for work. I still rescheduled as they already had my $100 deposit and was one of the only salon who claimed they could do pink hair. I went in for my rescheduled appointment tonight 1/18/22 and was informed when I showed up for my appointment by the owner David they couldn't do my hair pink and if I wanted to cancel the appointment I could. I had already been waiting over a month at this point only to find out they couldn't do what they promised and took a $100 deposit for. He then persuaded me to chose a color from the red family similar to the red copper I already had in my hair. I told him I like bright colors and would only want a bright color. I choose a bright violet. He proceeded to color my hair, wash and shampoo and to my horror when I saw my hair in the mirror it was DARK, almost black! I proceeded to ask him why is my hair black?! He said it will lighten after it dries. He cuts and dries my hair and I am incredibly upset at how dark my hair was and said it needs highlights or something to lighten up the dark color he said I could come back and pay for highlights and proceed to charge me another $100 for the service. I paid and left the shop devastated. I got home and found out that hair dye had seeped through the over the clothes protector and damaged my white polka dot shirt. This was the last straw and I called the salon and told them I was extremely unhappy with their service. David proceed to take no responsibility for the damaged clothes, the wasted time and rescheduled appointments, the unprofessionalism, the false pretense I put a deposit on, or my now dark hair. I asked if there was anything they could do? David didn't even offer a refund or additional service to accommodate as I had such a horrible experience. I didn't want to leave a bad review but David began to get hostile and aggressive. David told me to "leave a bad review and I don't care" and he didn't offer any solutions other than eventually come back for highlights. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE! This was a truly terrible experience from start to finish. The shop is supposed to be a high end Aveda Salon but is unprofessional, rude, and takes no accountability for the terrible customer service. Please take this review as a warning and save yourself time, money and tears; do not come here.
