I spent over 3 hours here for highlights but ended up with hair that was nearly unchanged and not at all noticeable. It was nowhere near the inspiration photo despite the colorist stating she would be able to do it.

The Lincoln Park location is wonderful. Staff is friendly and attentive. They really listen and do such a good job. Salon is very clean. Best hair wash every time!

Color is their specialty, and they have the process down pat. Love the membership which allows me to get my roots done every 6 weeks for No Charge...easy peasy!

Total waste of time. I was told they were unable to color my hair. I'm african american by the way. Is this a pattern? Whatever it is I wish I would have been informed ahead of time before driving to the hair salon. Instead I had a hairdresser with a less than empathetic attitude. I wouldn't buy a comb from Madison Reed. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED.

Made an appointment at the Lincoln park location. They told me I could not get color I wanted due to the timing. Then they tried to make it seem like my hair is to dark. My appointment was at 5:15pm. I arrived 10min prior. Then they got the only black girl working there to tell me the same thing as if I would have received the information different coming from a black women. I took a Uber 1hr away to get to this location to be told I couldn’t get the service I wanted. No fair. FYI don’t get another black person to come talk to another black person just because you can’t explain your job policy. Us black people are tired of coworkers and the world doing that. I would never come back !

Madison Reed is a wonderful new concept for those of us who don’t desire to color at home. I’ve always been greeted warmly, taken on time and loved my color. Never have I gotten the compliments after getting my color as I do since I’ve been going to Madison Reed.

Always so happy with my Madison Reed color. Covers all my greys, stands up to shampooing, and stays vibrant way longer than box dye. So many more colors to choose from for resistant greys than the box dyes offer. Definitely worth it!

I have loved the girls at Madison Reed Lincoln park and the magic they worked with my hair BUT I just cancelled my subscription of over 2 years because of how many times my appointments were cancelled with 2 hours notice 😞

I am so disappointed in my hair color. I pacifically said that I wanted my highlights to look the color I had, and I was concern that the root touch-up would cover them up. I asked that questioned several times, even to the shampoo person. I paid for the front to be highlighted, and I don’t even see any change. My highlights are almost gone. I was prepared to get the highlights done all over again if I was informed that I would have the same look. I am leaving for Ohio this weekend, and Hawaii at the end of the month, and I hate my hair. I want my highlights back. Can you help me?

I was super excited to try this place as a first leap into professionally colored hair. I was not super specific on what I wanted, asked the colorists advice between 2 colors (one I picked, one he picked). I specifically said I didn't want BRIGHT red/copper, I wanted a natural look that would grow out okay without a terrible root line. The colorist decided the color I selected from the screen was best considering those requests. Great! He lays the color in super sloppy, dripping everywhere, I do a better job being clean at home! Then he said 31 mins to sit & disappeared. 31 min..... 41 min..... 47 min..... 50 min........ and I'm still waiting now panicking that my color will have over sat. No one ever came by to say anything or check in on me. I had a coughing fit at one point & no one bothered to check in. The wash/dry girl finally came over & apologized, she was a team lead & said people had called out so she was struggling - I get it, I just would have loved a heads up, since I planned my evening around this appointment time (my wife was now waiting for me-late). She was super sweet & did a great job washing & blowing out my hair! Amazing. The ONE good part of my visit. As it was drying, I was really surprised at the color I was seeing - way different than expected. Then I go to check out with the receptionist (who spent the most of time I was there on her phone - she could have checked on me?). My colorist comes running over & asked if I liked it. I said it was fine, but kind of bright, "big change". He said "Oh I changed my mind & put the other color in your hair then what we had agreed on. I thought you'd like this more". For anyone familiar with their colors - we went from Sardena Red to Cararra Crimson. HUGE difference. UMMM WHAT??! That's why it's bright & not what I expected? He waited 2 freaking hours to tell me that?? After I asked his opinion, he agreed with me THEN CHANGED IT??? On MY HAIR. Not his hair. My hair. Both my wife & I were at a complete loss for words. I was dumbfounded. I just wanted to pay & get out. To add insult to injury the receptionist looked over my shoulder watching exactly how much I tipped each person - just bad class. Is the color horrible? No, It's not horrible. It's growing on me. But that's not the point. It's not what I wanted, or asked for, or agreed to. As it's growing out I already have the very obvious root line I specifically wanted to avoid - I see this is how they get you to come back I guess. Two stars goes entirely to the fabulous team lead woman that washed & dried my hair; she's a gem!

I’ve been going to this Madison Reed location for a long time. Today I had the best experience I have had in all that time. Sabree, was my colorist and she did a fabulous job! She was sweet and competent and my color is great. I’m considering highlights and she was knowledgeable and talked through what I should expect if I go forward with them. What made the experience all the better was the shampoo I received after my coloring- it was absolutely phenomenal! I can’t remember her name, but all I can say is WOW, Thank you!!! I’m writing this hoping that the company recognizes employees that bring “added value” to the salon because both of them did today!

The colorist is polite but the color was off buy 2 shades...the lighting is terrible in there be careful I am concerned Who is Madison Reed actually? With pronoun changing people and I am Linda a woman a girl my whole life I am she I am her ...I am woman ...I am wondering if Madison Reed is a man that changed his pronoun to she now it's woman owned business even though she is actually he...I'm going to investigate....
