TLDR: if you are in need of a curly hair specialist and want to feel confident in your curly crown, come here and be ready to have fun. You will receive a wonderful hair treatment, get the products you need to stay cute, AND at a fair price. The whole story: Madusalon is THE BEST salon experience I have ever had. In my *cough* almost 40yrs of life, I have never felt more welcome and cared for with my thick curly hair. Jaretta and the Masusalon staff were extremely welcoming, kind and super efficient! There is a level of respect and kindness that fills the room and they are very good at their jobs. Jaretta took care of my sad unkempt hair after I had my second kiddo. It was the pick up I needed to feel like myself again. I used to feel embarrassed to get haircuts because my hair is very thick, but they made sure I felt confident and proud to have the hair I have. It made me feel comfortable and good which is what I want in a hair experience. She taught me how to care for my hair, she listened to my needs for it to be low maintenance but cute. She took into account the shape of my face and how often I should come in to touch it up. She even had me take pictures of the products she used so I know what to use at home. There is a level of knowledge and attitude of no gate keeping information to help others. Especially us curly girlies. They use products that are ethically made and priced. I would pay extra just to hang with this crew. Thank you Madusalon, you have a customer for life and will bring my two curly haired daughters when it's their time. ❤️

Everyone here was so warm and welcoming! Jaretta made my appointment more than just a cut and color but an entire experience and was so affirming and kind the entire time. She truly transformed my curls and was very attentive to my desires for my hair. She also answered all my questions and taught me so much about color.

I got my hair done a couple months ago and I have to say I LOVE it! Jaretta is AMAZING! I've never put any colour in my hair before (I booked a wash and cut because I had no idea what to do with it), and this was quite a different look for me, but she knew exactly what to do with my hair, how I should take care of it (I have thick, curly black hair) and I haven't looked back since. Thank you SO much! This salon is AMAZING! LOVE this place!

I am so grateful that I found this salon. I’ve been straightening my hair for months because my last haircut was not done by someone who understood how to cut curly hair. Sasha was AMAZING 🤩- love my new haircut!

The attitude in this salon is disgusting. I just left rather than being serviced. I called prior to driving 40 minutes down there from south San Fran because the girl who I spoke to on the phone stated they needed to look at my hair before they can do anything for me and I needed to show a reference picture mind you all I needed is to cut my weave to my shoulder my hair is already done and I’m afraid to cut it myself. I arrive to the salon and some lady with a purple haircut before even saying hello “ what time is your appointment” I told her I didn’t have an appointment but I spoke to someone on the phone to look at my hair for a cut. ( mind you she is not the lady I spoke to on the phone) she states no one can look at my hair or do anything for me today because everyone is busy. So why did you tell me to drive alllll way here?! As I’m willing to wait for someone to maybe just have some free time to JUST LOOOK at my hair. The lady with the short purple cut attitude is very unwelcoming. She’s looking at me with a nasty look stating “ no one can do anything for you that’s what she stated on the phone”( when that is not what she stated on the phone)& I wasn’t even coming in to get my hair done today she said come in so they can LOOOK and I will get my hair done tomorrow . The lady with the ridiculous short purple cut is stating they’re all busy while she is sitting in my face with that nasty attitude doing absolutely nothing. I didn’t argue I simply walked out told them have a blessed day . I’m just highly upset to have drove 40 minutes and to be welcomed with such an unwelcoming greetings. Further more book an appointment or be greeted by the lady with the ugly purple hair! :)

I cannot thank Marie enough for revolutionizing my relationship with my hair. I've had a hard time my entire life with my curly hair not knowing how to "tame it". Marie showed me how beautiful my hair is by cutting it for curls, showing me the products my hair actually needs, and how to style. I feel so confident - for the first time - that I can replicate what she did and I love my hair exactly as it is! A million thanks - they've got a regular in me.

I went in scared as I hate getting my hair cut. I came out with the best hair cut and color of my life. Jarreta is talented and most of all she listens. She takes in what you ask for and creates the perfect look. I highly recommend her and to add she is an amazing person.

I had the most wonderful experience at Madusalon today! I am always anxious about getting my hair cut due to prior bad experiences with my curly hair. Marie, the owner, did an incredible job, ensuring my hair was styled exactly how I hoped (maintaining length and improving shape). She demonstrated an excellent understanding of what I wanted and executed it perfectly. Additionally, she consistently educated me throughout the process. I purchased the DevaCut and think it was well worth the price as well as the distance travelled (from Palo Alto) because of the results and wonderful team.

Amazing cut. It's the first time I actually love my cut 3 weeks later. Marie did an amazing job - I get so many compliments. The salon is super nice and comfy. They were great about a difficult scheduling ask. I'm in love with my hair. Would absolutely recommend to anyone looking for a curly hair cut.

I don't know how I've gone my whole life without Madusalon! In the last 2 years since I started seeing Marie, I've left every appointment LOVING my curls (not to mention always getting compliments on my haircuts). Marie works magic on my hair and everyone at the salon is so lovely, it's always a good time. What a relief to finally have a salon that I can trust with my curls!!

Jaretta is so friendly and professional. She works efficiently , asked me lots of questions, had drinks on hand, provided me with product info, cuts with creativity and gave me exactly what I wanted. Can’t give her more stars but if I could I would.

Jaretta is the best hairstylist I have ever been to! So kind and so talented. I've paid so much money for haircuts in the past and I've been disappointed every time, but not this time. Jaretta knows exactly how to achieve what you ask for. I've never felt more confident about my hair, even almost 2 months later. I cannot recommend her enough!!!

Madusalon is fantastic and my stylist, Arlevia, is a GEM! She always gives me the cutest cut for my super curly hair. Everyone on the staff is super friendly and the salon has a really fun vibe. Would highly recommend!

Terrible salon the owner was nasty> The stylist was nice but the owner made sure that the stylist was not going to make me an appointment. I felt hurt and labeled. I give you a capitol SHAME SHAME SHAME ON YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best haircut I've ever had with Sasha. He is a curl maestro. It's the most money I've ever spent on my hair but it's so worth it - he spent a lot of time perfecting the layers to my face shape and educating on how to style and care for my curls. 10/10 I feel so happy and confident!
