As always, I had a very relaxing, peaceful and engaging experience at the salon. My wash in go maintenance cut appointment, met all of my expectations. I highly recommend this salon for all of your hair care needs, especially my curly ppl and Locs wearing ppl too. You will NOT be disappointed.💐

Would give 10 stars if I could - loved my experienced here. Camille and Denia are so knowledgeable and great listeners. Totally revamped my understanding of natural hair care and I'm so excited to get my hair to a healthier state. My curls have never been more defined :)

I have been in this space so many times for Out the Way on J, which is a monthly intimate showcase of poetry, hip-hop & r&b so I was ecstatic to come to the salon in the daytime and fully experience it as a hair client hehe. & WHAT AN EXPERIENCE IT WAS CHILEEEE! 10 out of 10. 1,000 out of 10, even. The music was setting such a wonderfully calm mood that the plants further expressed. I came in because the shape of my fro as it was growing back was not fit for my face and was just BLAH but my girl Camille took me from blahhh to BLAM! (see photos below) I'm in love with the shape of my hair now and my curls are POPPIN! More than anything else I'm equipped with the knowledge to keep my hair thriving and hydrated after my service!

I moved to the area about a year ago and have been struggling to find someone who could help me through my transition to a different hair environment (dry climate, hard water, etc) as well as listen to my concerns about my hair objectives. I think I found my hair home. I felt seen. I felt heard. And I left with a great new cut and recommendations to help my hair feel healthier in these Western lands.

My first visit to Mahogany & Rose Hair Studio has been, hands down, the best hair care experience of my life (not counting the childhood memories of my mom's loving hands braiding my nappy curls). I walked in on the brink of despair and tears, with my hair in an indescribable state, with knots--due to a previous failed, surprising experience, and wondering if Camille would tell me that my only option was to cut my locs and to start the process over... in a few months. This review can't do justice to the expert and gentle care my hair received (and I, by extension). Pampered is the word. I walked out happier about my hair than I have been in a long time, my hair looking beautiful and healthy, and with helpful advice on how to best maintain my locs moving forward. Not the mention how peaceful and relaxing the studio is. Highly recommended!

Great studio, service is consistent. Owner is super knowledgeable about curly hair, friendly, and most importantly educates you on how to better take care of your hair. I've seen amazing results in under a year, best hair studio in Sac!

Hands down the best haircuts of my life. Camille is so knowledgeable about curly hair and all of the challenges - and opportunities - that accompany it. The salon is so chill. Camille has built a really lovely space. Worth every penny!

My experience at Mahogany& Rose was AMAZING! Camille was so kind, patient, and informative for the whole process and encourages you to be hands on throughout the process. Just when I thought I knew what was best for my curls she shook my world in the best way possible and educated me on what is best for my hair and I absolutely adore my cut. Very nice place, neat, tidy and private. Denia showed me how to take care of my hair, including which products to use, how to properly cleanse and style. My hair came out looking healthy and moisturized! Will definitely keep coming and refer my family.

What an experience! I knew that I needed to take the plunge and finally take the time to invest in my hair. Camille was so friendly, helpful, knowledgeable, etc. I had a million questions and she answered every single one and then took the time to show me how to care for my curls. She was responsive in emails with any additional questions I had. I can’t wait to continue on this new hair journey with all of my newfound knowledge. Thank you Camille!

My experience at Mahogany & Rose was great. All my concerns and visions for my hair were listened to. I felt in great hands the whole time. Denia cares for your hair and is a true artist. She brings life back into your curls, and let me not forget her head massage; It was magical! I got some excellent advice on maintaining the results I received and felt welcomed in this space. I recommend that any curly girl come to this salon. Trusting people with your hair can be hard, but you can feel assured that you are in the best hands here.

This was the worst hair cut I have ever received. It’s a month before my wedding and I had been to this salon before and was excited to return. I let Denia know that I was getting married and wanted to keep my length for the wedding (I had grown my hair out for 6 years and it was to my middle back) we had talked about cutting layers for our next visit in 4 months from now. After the first 15 mins I realized how much she cut off and think she thought I wanted to do short laters when I specifically stated I wanted to keep my length. I started crying because my hair was gone. At the end she did not fully blow dry my hair which I payed $350 just to have to go home and blow dry my own hair. I’m guessing she didn’t blow dry it because when I got home and realized how short it was after the shrinkage I broke down crying even more. The owner was not empathetic or empathetic what so ever and blamed it on a miss communication which was not on my end. (I stated that I wanted to keep the length from the beginning) she did nothing to correct the situation and now my hair is so short before the wedding I now have to go pay for hair extensions. The manager should have offered a discount for her cutting my hair so short, it is now shoulder length and my confidence is so slow. Extremely dissapointed in this salon. I did not even receive an apology. You did nothing to correct the situation. I did say at the beginning I would be returning but i will not be after how this was handled and I will not recommend this shop based on how Camille handled this situation and based on the lack of experience and communication that Denia gave. I really liked them but very dissapointed in the service and for them not offering to comp my service after seeing how visibly upset I was or to even offer a discount knowing you Fd up my hair before my wedding. I tried calling Camille twice and she has not returned my calls. Very unprofessional.

Denia was wonderful! I came in with a list of questions and she answered them all. She showed me how to do everything as she was doing it so that I could replicate the steps at home. She recommended products. She listened to my concerns and goals and made helpful suggestions. I’ve had dreadlocks all of my adult life and transitioning to curls has felt daunting— I feel so much better equipped now and 10/10 recommend the New Client Curly Cut Experience! Love the educational instruction Denia gave on how to take care of my coily hair. I was doing a lot of things incorrectly to my hair. Denis asked a lot of questions and listened to my concerns about my hair. She created a great cut and showed me how to get myself together. Will use her again. I highly recommend this salon.

Mahogany & Rose was such a joy to walk into. The space alone was so rejuvenating with all of the natural light, plants and calming atmosphere. Denia greeted me with kindness and empathy when I shared that I’ve struggled embracing my natural hair for many years. She explained her entire process as she was caring for my hair and I left my appointment feeling much more confident and thankful for my time spent there. The products that she used are very gentle, organic and non-toxic which was a huge plus for me as well. Camille was also so kind, I noticed how they were both so intentional with spending time with one client at a time. I have a long way to go on my hair healing journey, but am beyond thankful that I found Mahogany & Rose and will be returning again very soon. 10/10 in my book!

Mahogany Rose 🌹 is a whole vibe. Denia and Camille are very nice and very informative. I was serviced by Denia. She takes her time to educate and show you how, each step goes to properly wash your hair. She has all products and tools lined up ,so you are able to purchase later for at home care. However, I am new to the Curly word. My hair has a curl pattern but with time and consistency my curls and curl pattern with become more defined using all products and following all step that were recommended and video tutorials.

I came home from my appointment and my husband saw my hair and immediately said “oh yea I see the difference. Your hair looks good”. Woke up the next morning and before the steam hit my hair it was already in place. Sometimes I don’t realize I need a cut until the cut is complete. Love my hair. It looks fabulous with a fresh cut. Thank you Camille!!!
