Maksim Barbershop is fantastic! The barbers are skilled, friendly, and truly care about their work. I got a perfect haircut with great attention to detail, and the shop is clean and comfortable. Excellent service all around, definitely one of the best in Brooklyn. 5/5 stars!

LADIES do not sleep on this place!!!!! I wanted a trim and bangs (and to not put a huge dent in my pocket). Got all three, AND so happy with how it turned out!! With just a couple reference photos, Yelena gave me exactly what I wanted, and was super professional!

Despite a decent experience in the past, we had a pretty rough one this time around. My son had been growing his hair out a bit for a specific cut. We took the picture in with what he wanted. The barber was a little dismissive but said, yes I know. He asked several times during the cut if my son wanted to leave it long. Repeatedly my son said yes. In the end, he chopped nearly all of it off, left a really ugly straight line in the front. Obviously, bad haircuts happen and my son will get over it. It was just stark how completely opposite the result was from the ask. When I mentioned this, there was no apology or anything. Just charged us and walked away.

Owners recently changed and the decline in quality is very obvious. Came in for a haircut and it was absolutely butchered and it looked like a bowl cut. Their “attempts” to fix the haircut only made it worse and worse to where now it looks more like a receding hair line. The sides are uneven and not properly blended. At the end of the day, do not come. The new owners and new barbers are horrendous and don’t know how to cut hair.

I recently visited Maksim Hair Salon & Barbershop and had a fantastic experience! The staff was incredibly welcoming and professional. I was particularly impressed by Anfred, who provided exceptional service. He truly listened to what I wanted and delivered perfectly. The atmosphere was relaxing, and the results were exactly what I hoped for. Highly recommend this place, especially Anfred if you want a flawless haircut!

One of the worst hair salon I’ve ever been to in my entire life. I regret very bad going here. The guy out there, I think he don’t even know how to do hair cut and beards. It was hurting my hair and skin and I informed him. He was like that how he does it. Very rude and don’t even know how to address customer.

This hair salon is under new management. I visited the establishment today and inquired about the barber who typically cuts my hair. The new owner informed me that he is no longer employed there. I reluctantly agreed to let the new barber cut my hair. Unfortunately, she lacked the necessary skills, and I was forced to leave before she could complete the haircut. I subsequently visited a different salon to have my hair corrected. I will not return to this establishment nor recommend it to anyone unless they are willing to take a chance. Despite the unsatisfactory haircut, I paid for the service as I did not believe it was worth disputing the charge. I recommend avoiding this salon if possible.

This is a shoutout to a great Hair Salon and Barbershop Maksim which I visited recently. The staff is professional and caring, as well as very cheerful and friendly. The moment I stepped into salon I knew I an in great hands and my intuition did not betray me. They are hit or miss. I been there twice, and the first time, they were good, and the second time was bad. idk why I got a haircut from the blond girl. Crazy thing is I get a skin. Shave on my head. She messes it up. Make sure they spoke English. Sorry to say that. The girl was cleaning my head with her hands to get the little hairs out. Not even a brush, her hands 🙄. I had to shave the next day because it looked bad 👎

Hit or miss - some barbers will take your direction and give you what you asked for, others only know how to give certain types of haircuts. Even if you do not want a fade, or crisp lines, it is very likely you will leave with that. The concept of a natural line or a use of clippers to give a consistent length cut (non-fade) seems to be difficult for a number of the barbers working there. I've had multiple negative experiences where I was unhappy with the cut I received, even after providing a great deal of information about what I wanted, it seemed like that didn't matter and they were going to cut how they wanted anyway. Frustrating to add another barbershop to the list that I don't feel confident in.
