I've been going to see Kenndra since she was a student at Empire. I'm pretty finicky with my hair, but Kenndra is always so understanding and communicative. She always makes it a good time and truly wants to make sure you leave with the style you want. If you have hair anxiety or your child has anxiety I highly recommend getting a cut by Kenny. She's the best <3

I have never walked into space, let alone a salon where the energy was the most positive I have ever felt! My stylist was Skylar and she did an amazing job with my hair! I could not be happier! The girls at Malcolm’s were the sweetest and I will be going back!

I’ve been coming here for a few years and it’s the only place I go to for my haircuts and eyebrow waxes. Michelle is the only person I trust with my eyebrows and she always makes my haircuts look exactly how I pictured it! All the staff are very kind as well when checking me in and out! Great salon!

Kenndra helped me get over my fear of getting my hair cut. I have pretty long hair that I’ve worked hard to grow out (I’ve had trouble in the past being able to grow my hair due to years of box dying/bleaching) so when my hair finally got some length, I was terrified to do anything to it. I’ve also had negative experiences with other stylists (not at Malcom’s) so it kept me away from getting my hair cut for a while. Kenndra was so attentive, understanding, and patient with me throughout the entire process. She would show me exactly how much she was taking off before doing so, ask me how I was feeling, and if I was liking the haircut throughout. The last time I was there, I asked Kenndra for tips on styling my thin/straight/more oily hair and she was SO helpful in guiding me to shampoos/conditioners/ ect that would best suit my specific hair type and what I was looking for. I trust Kenndra's knowledge in the work that she does (because her passion for it is truly unmatched) so I purchased a shampoo and conditioner before I left the salon and it’s been amazing for my hair. I’ve gotten my hair cut by Kenndra twice now and am no longer afraid or hesitant of getting my hair cut. I’m actually looking forward to making my next appointment with her because she always dedicates her time and effort to ensure that I leave the salon feeling and looking my best ♥️

Michele did an amazing job cutting my hair, you can tell they are all extremely knowledgeable about curly hair. It was also great service! While Michele was diffusing the front of my hair, another worker came and diffused the back of my hair. All the employees were so lovely. Thank you!

Two months ago, I celebrated my Quince, which is a religious coming out celebration in the Hispanic Culture. My stylist met with me prior to understand the visions I had for my hair. She recommended shops to purchase my extensions and other accessories as well as providing a comfortable experience. I wanted long tight curly hair with lots of volume and my stylist delivered! My hair was exactly how I envisioned it and it was huge! Thank you and enjoy the pics.

Skyler did an amazing job cutting and styling my curly hair. I have super coarse and thick curls, so I’ve been to many salons who haven’t done them justice. She also recommended me some products she used to style my hair and gave me some tips on how to maintain it at home. I will be coming back for routine maintenance!

I had a last minute appointment that resulted in me wanting to continue visiting this salon. I went in for a decent chop & some layers. It looks amazing!!! I couldn’t rave about this hairstylist/location more. ❤️

Couple months late but finally leaving a review 😅 Michele did an AMAZING job with my hair. We discussed what I wanted and I showed her pictures before and she continued to check in throughout the appt. I finally found a stylist with the experience needed to get what I want and it was super affordable too. I have curly hair and I usually opt for edgier shorter cuts and it’s hard to find someone who’s skilled with scissor cutting and clippers AND curly hair and I mean….she does it all. I was so happy with my hair and even months later it’s grown out a little and still looks so good. The other stylists were also super sweet and helpful, overall a really positive environment. I cannot WAIT for my upcoming appointment.

I didn’t even make it to the chair with the location in Scranton on oak. I made an appointment with santina on may 12th Sunday for a full bleach, long hair 120 minutes for Saturday May 25th. Thought that’s a good time frame considering there was many appointments that day. I get a call during that week to come in for a strand test. I come in may 18th Saturday to do it. She said she’d text me that evening to give me a quote, down payment, see if my hair lifts alright( I have dark hair) I said no rush tomorrow would be fine too. Sunday no text. Monday they’re closed, Tuesday no text… I call Wednesday. Hey any update. She apologizes, they were renovating, she didn’t get to it okay fine. My appointment is Saturday 25th. She says she’ll do it that Wednesday evening. Once again (maybe shouldn’t have said) that’s okay even if it’s tomorrow that’s okay. No text Thursday, no text Friday… I call them after hours saying I’m cancelling my appointment for tomorrow at 10am. I get a text THE DAY OF my appointment, that Saturday, 1 hour before my scheduled appointment… your strand test was longer than she thought. It took an hour to lift… I scheduled a 2 hour appointment, but okay if she can’t do it in that time fine. She says she can schedule me next week. I’m on vacation next week, can’t do it. She says let me see if I can get you in earlier today. I say can I also get a quote because I still don’t know how much this will be and I was expecting a quote so I can make my decision as well. She. Never. Texted. Back. It’s Monday. I don’t even need to make it to the chair to feel like they really didn’t want to do my hair… if they’re busy I get that but express it. Instead I got totally ghosted and felt like they couldn’t care less. I was looking forward to it but I definitely will not even come in a future date based off of that…

Kenndra and the rest of the staff was so friendly and welcoming when we arrived for my daughter's first appointment at the salon. Kenndra promptly took her to her station and asked my daughter about her lifestyle while Kenndra was assessing her hair. Kenndra then took my daughter to wash her hair and was very thorough and took great care while she was shampooing. Once my daughter was back at Kenndra's station, Kenndra made light conversation as she reassessed my daughter's hair. As she cut each section of hair, she would reevaluate to make sure my daughter's hair would lay the way it's supposed to, that the sections blended perfectly with the next. At the end of the service, my daughter was elated at the result of the wonderful job Kenndra did. Not many stylists will actually take time to listen to a client, especially a young client. Kenndra not only listened to what my daughter wanted but took into effect the amount of time my daughter was willing to spend in achieving a good look for school and work. We will definitely return to Malcolm's in Scranton as the staff listens to the clients and they know how to make you look better leaving than coming in.
