I see hair stylist Jessica Tena for my hair needs. She has an eye for coloring and highlighting and I also usually also have her trim my hair and style. I always love how it turns out. I have red hair but as I am getting older it is getting a little duller in color and of course some grey scattered about and she just seems to know how to get me looking back to my natural color w some beautiful strawberry blonde highlighting or balayaging. I always feels so good when I leave there - she is so sweet and always welcoming and always takes time with me.

I’ve been seeing Kayl at Malva house for my hair care needs, and she goes above and beyond. This is my second appointing adding K-tips and Kayl is a hair wizard. And not only is she great with hair, her conversation skills make a lengthy appointment breeze by. I’m impressed with her scientific knowledge as a colorist and just generally impressed with her intellect. But for sure, 10/10 with the k tips!

Had an absolutely amazing experience today at MALVA with Misty! I got a trim with long layers and a blow dry. She did an incredible job on my hair and was very knowledgeable and informative on ways to improve my hair health! Absolutely recommend seeing Misty and will definitely be back!

I had been going to Kelsey for over 2 years. She was recommended to me by a previous colleague. Loved her. My last appointment I had to reschedule at the last minute due to an urgent job interview. She texted back extremely upset and said she would be holding a card on file for cancellations. She apparently had 4. I replied I completely understood. Which I do. When I went in I was quiet. Not really talking a lot. I had a lot of very personal things on my mind. So I wasn’t very talkative. She then said she was taking some moe off the back. I didn’t question. I didn’t immediately rebook because of my job situation. I said u would call. After a few days I knew something needed a little tweaking with the cut. Texted several times. No answer. Finally had to call the salon. She texted back that I was upset because I was quiet and did not immediately rebook. I tried to explain that I had the job issue and would rebook as soon as I got it figured out. She has never texted back or replied to my 4 requests to rebook. I mean really? You’re that pissed off because I said I wanted a little tweak in the cut, was quiet, and did not immediately rebook? After I told you I had some very personal things going on? That is inexcusable. Do not recommend. After 2 years. People are people and have issues sometimes to work out. I didn’t immediately rebook because of the job. So sorry that I said I wanted a little tweak on the cut. Her reply shiwed she was clearly offended. I had let her know that it was my miscommunication due to so much on my mind. She was not having any of it. DO NOT GET TO KELSEY SMITH. I mean it. Your stylist should be someone who is empathetic and helpful. I’ve never ever in over 2 years said anything about my cut until this time. Please do yourself a favor. If you go to this salon do not book with her.

Best salon | My go-to hair stylist, Shelby Strode-Miller I am SO thankful to have finally found my go-to hair stylist. Shelby Strode-Miller is my girl. I've had so many bad hair appointments the last decade that it's an utter relief to find someone who knows what they're doing. Shelby is professional, super friendly, very knowledgeable, and passionate about her work. I first found this place on Yelp and Google. After seeing images of the impressive interior, I checked out their stylist directory and eventually found Shelby's work on IG, and a couple of my friends actually go to see her too! I contacted her through her IG profile after seeing her awesome work on there and was able to book a consultation first. Within that 30 minute appointment, we went over what I wanted to achieve with my hair and showed her photos. She explained to me what she would do during the session and saved my photos and took notes. She was very transparent about color theory/science of hair, price and how much time it'd require to achieve my results. So professional! I left that consult feeling in good hands already. Fast forward to today and I am incredibly happy with my results. She fixed my brassy old balayage (not sure if what I had was looking like a balayage) with some uneven lighter streaks. She mixed up some color to match my original dark hair color and brought that down to create more of an effortless flow and dimension to my hair. She toned down all of the lighter brassy brown I had too. Now, it looks like a chocolate caramel color. I have gotten SO many compliments already throughout the day! I appreciate Shelby and really like this salon. I can see why everyone is a returning client here.

Got my hair done by kayl miller! I came in with orange splotchy hair messed up by another stylist. I flew from Boise to Portland just to have it done by her. She worked her magic and sent me from an orange mess, to a very beautiful icy blonde. She genuinely is the best. Good conversation, lots of laughs. Highly recommend.

I don't usually leave reviews, but Alivia was AMAZING!! She did exactly what I wanted and I will be seeing her again! The only complaint I would have is that it was a bit messy - hair clippings, dye, etc.

I’ve been visiting Sydnie at MALVA for body waxing and spray tans and have been very happy with my results every time! The salon environment is very welcoming and comfortable. Sydnie is wonderful at what she does and truly cares about her clients and her work, I wouldn’t recommend anyone else!

Kayl is top notch. Spiritual gangster. A true artist. I usually get a new Cut and Color. She understands exactly what I want every time. She really cares about damage prevention and having healthy hair. She knocks it out the park everytime no question. There's just something about Kayl that's comforting to be around. She a fantastic listener / conversationalist. She doesn't have a judgemental bone in her body. She's a lot of fun. Kayl will always be my first choice!!

Kellie Ross is the best hairstylist I have ever had. She has done my hair for years, and each time she ceases to amaze me. She knows exactly how to bring my vision to life, and makes sure to maintain the integrity of my hair. I have very long hair and lots of it, and she will sit with me for 6+ hours to make sure it looks perfect when I leave the salon. Her blonding and coloring skills are unmatched. She has taken me from to bright bright blonde, to dark, and back to buttery blonde, and each to I’m amazed by her skills. If you are in need of a new hairstylist, check her out. You seriously won’t be disappointed. (All 3 photos below were taken the day after she did my hair).

Unfortunately Kayl at Malva House of hair burnt my hair SO BAD with bleach and over processed it to the point my hair was about a inch at the scalp in many many places, I will never have the same hair, don’t recommend a stylist who thinks she knows how to use bleach correctly, I recommend anyone else besides Kayl at Malva House Of Hair. I have gotten my hair done with bleach many times around PDX and spent near now $400 each session and it makes sense why she only charges so much less. Go elsewhere!!!!!

Zack is amazing. He asks all the right questions and listens to what you have to say. It can be hard to find someone who does women's short cuts well. The first cut he did my hair looked just like the picture I brought in. No one else has been able to do that. Just had my 3rd cut with Zack. It's a real confidence booster to have a great cut. I love this place! I've been in salons all over the country and as an esthetician who has worked in some of the best spa's and salons in Vail, Santa Barbara, Los Angeles, and New York but none of them can hold a candle to this. I am there every 3-4 weeks with Kayl, who is the boss of my hair because she knows her art. Everyone who works there is dedicated to continue to learn and it shows in their skills. I came there five months ago after my hair was ruined and left feeling beautiful. She has a special personality that makes my time there fun! I highly recommend this salon to anyone who wants to be heard and know you will leave there happy. Whoever created this masterpiece is a genius. It's a vibe I've never experienced.
