Mara Amherst staff always make me look amazing and feel so much better when I leave they are sweet and they are the only people I let cut my hair. Also affordable I got a cut and color.

The owner of the shop, Mara is pleasant and friendly. My barber (Big) is sharp, and engaging. Nice atmosphere. Jenny is the ish too!!

I just moved up this way 2 months ago went to another place wasn't that great. Cut my haircut from this place today she was very good and cheap. She was very easy to talk to.

Do not go on Christmas Eve , better do not go there.unprofesional and full of sweet tongue. I got there first in the morning, nobody was there yet, After a while, when customer started to come in, They were busy paying attention to serving foods to their customers. My hair ends up cutting unevenly, I wanted to just cut, no styling. Then the owner persuaded me to get hair color so I decided to go ahead and do the highlight color. I wanted brown highlights but ended up with my natural hair color with white bleach color. In the process of coloring my hair she keeps asking her assistant to help serving the foods, try to ask me to hold and prepare the foil for highlights for her while she does my hair. I pretend I didn't hear her. After my hair color comes out bad, she tries to make excuses by asking did I color my hair in black before? And to cover up her hair cut results she does blow dry and styling my hair, said so I can see the hair style better after styling.

Mara cares about her customers. She does amazing work on my hair and her employees are just as amazing. I have been going here for 4 years. I live outside the city now and I still will not let anyone touch my hair other than Mara's hair salon.

Today was my very first time visiting Maria’s salon. I have to say, I am very pleased with the warm welcome and excellent service I received. I went in for a root touch up and Maria knew exactly what I needed and took very good care of me. Top notch service! They gave my hair a treatment and removed all of the coloring off of my skin completely. The salon I went to before this for 20 years, did not do as good of a job as she did. So thank you, Maria for a job well done! I will be back!

the best hair salon. I have been going here for 3 years and i love it. Mara cares about her costumers so much. There is a new employee she has been the best so far. I always go for a hair cut to her. Her name is Dona in case if you need her name. She works on a full tima basis, you call and make appt or even they take all walks in too.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! They are very, VERY unprofessional. “Hair cutters” there are completely untrained in hair and have mostly been going off of their horrible instincts. They act all high by putting a sign with decent rates, but when you get your cut done it’s now up 50% because you have “a lot of hair” or it’s “hard to manage”. They have extremely odd working ethics, by using a foreign language to communicate about the customer in their face. I once came in with pictures, maybe a few months back, asking for a cut. They told me they could do it — great, cheap haircut, and exactly what I want! Although no, they cut it so bad, told me it would need styling, communicated with each other, and tried to gaslight me into thinking it was like the picture. I can assure you the picture was at least 2 inches longer, although shorter face framing layers. They gave me a blunt, short, layered mess, and told me that it was long at the start so I had to pay more. Talk about deceiving your customers. Stories similar to this have happened to people I know as well as myself far too many times. Save the money, time, and frustration and DONT COME HERE!!!!!
