What a fantastic hair salon find right in the middle of St Johns!! My hair is very curly. Emily listened to what I wanted and the results were amazing!!😀 Everyone there is so kind and professional. I won’t ever be going anyplace else. Thank you so much Emily !! Absolutely 5 Stars!!❤️❤️

I have lived and had my hair done in major cities all over the US - NYC, LA, DC, and without question Marigold is hands down the BEST salon and stylist experience I have ever had. Sasha has been trimming and highlighting my blonde curls for over 10 years now, and I continue to be impressed by her skill and expertise. There is truly no one like her. Plus the vibe of the salon and the other stylists there are so cool and so warm and welcoming. Cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Sasha has been cutting my hair for a couple years now and I absolutely love her work! She is great at helping me turn my style ideas into reality and introducing me to new styling products that I love. I always look forward to getting my hair cut by her because she is so warm and lovely - and I am always happy with the end result! Her new salon is a beautiful and welcoming space, an excellent addition to the downtown St. Johns small business community.

Sasha is absolutely amazing, she's definitely given me the best haircuts of my life. I first had her cut and style my hair over 15 years ago, and that first haircut is still unforgettable. It was absolutely amazing and fit me perfectly. She continues to be amazing and pays close attention to your hair requests and delivers! She's very warm, friendly, and welcoming, and makes each appointment enjoyable and relaxing. Definitely recommend her 10/10.

Sasha is nicest, most talented stylist I have ever had. It took me a good 30 years of my life before I learned to embrace the my curls, thanks mostly to Sasha! Her cuts are perfection — every strand lands just right and it grows out seamlessly, keeping its shape and bounce. She also is super knowledgeable about products and can recommend exactly what you need, even for the most product challenged of us all (me). Also, truly the CUTEST salon. Right next door to excellent pizza in cute St Johns.

Sasha is the first stylist who has successfully gotten me & my hair to a happy place! I’ve got frizzy curls and was wearing a pony 95% of days before she gave me the perfect cut. I’ve been with her over a year now and am down to a pony once a week. Sasha & the salon have great vibes and are such a joy to visit. Highly recommend.

Jill cut and colored my hair and I’m in ❤️! She did an amazing job with my bob and bangs. It’s easy to manage and looks way more stylish than my previous cut and color. Not only is Sasha one of the loveliest people you’ll ever meet, she does dang good hair. I’ve always left appointments with her giddy over my new ‘do. Post-partum is rough on your mind, body and spirit...and hair! In a moment when I was NOT feeling my most glamorous, Sasha helped me shine again. She is generous with her time, thoughtful with the products she uses and her haircuts always capture the change (small or big) that I'm hoping for. As someone who minimally styles, she works with my hair and my lifestyle to give me a fresh cut that suits me. My experience at Marigold Salon was amazing and I will definitely be coming back! This charming and comfortable little studio nestled in North Portland had me feeling like a celebrity who has special access to the best hair stylists in town. Emily Elizondo, whom I’ve also seen at other shops, is Marigold’s latest and greatest addition, and I love getting my hair done by her. I consistently look and feel my best after each visit, and always look forward to the next one! Emily’s attention to detail, and intuition is always on point, and the level of passion she puts into her craft is the same level of care she puts into knowing her clients. I have seen Emily for more than 5 years now, but even after only my first few visits, I knew she was great, as a stylist, AND a person. I recommend her to anyone who is looking for a stylist!

Sasha is truly incredible. I have tried many different curly hair stylists in Portland and no one comes close to Sasha in terms of quality of curly haircut and overall experience. She is extremely easy to talk with, her salon is adorable and relaxing, and I always leave delighted by my haircut. I love that she offers a lower price when you don't get a blow dry and that her prices include gratuity. Highly recommend!

I started working with Emily when I began my transition, and she has been so supportive and positive and helpful. Finding out she was moving was a little daunting, but thank goodness she found the most adorable space. The cut and shampoo was awesome, the product and styling were top-notch, and she's still helping to guide me and my hair. 14 out of 10, will go again.

At the risk of sounding hyperbolic, Sasha and her hair magic literally changed my life. In 40 years, I had MAYBE only two good haircuts from random stylists who knew how to handle curly hair. I had no real idea how to care for or style my hair, and fell into all sorts of horrible trends and curly misinformation on the internet. My hair was never as vibrant as I felt on the inside. After working with Sasha and her full curly service including hair care tutorials and some new appropriate hair products, my mane looks fabulous EVERY DAY. Strangers literally stop me to compliment my hair. She is also a whiz with color and highlights, and offers great, environmentally conscious and equitable products in her cute salon. I could not say more nice things about this salon, Sasha’s expertise, and Sasha herself - a beautiful human. I will follow her, my hair guru, wherever she may go for the rest of my life. 😂🙏❤️

Sasha, the owner + operator, has been doing my hair for the last couple of years. From day one, she’s always taken great care of me and my hair. I feel like she really cares and pays attention to each person’s unique hair texture, on top of their preferences and needs from a haircut. She’s lovely and personable (but will also leave you be to play on your phone/read a book if that’s more your style). I always walk away feeling refreshed after a haircut with Sasha! The new Marigold space is so cute! Parking was no biggie on a weekday afternoon, and you’re close by to a lot of St. John’s stuff if you wanna go straight from your haircut to a movie date or grabbing a beer at the Garrison.

I have very finicky, very, very, VERY fine hair. And the only person in the world that I trust to make it look absolutely amazing is Sasha. Plus, this place is so adorable and cozy. It’s so easy to just relax in the chair, enjoy a La Croix, laugh and have Sasha work her incredible magic! Highly, highly recommend!!!
