I live in another city but spend extended time periods in New York. I needed to find a salon with a great colorist and stylist. I read reviews and gave Mark Garrison a try. The team I found at Mark Garrison is outstanding. Dina does my color and Danielle styles my hair. They know their products, listen to my preferences, offer thoughtful input, and are a delight to be around. I may move permanently to NYC just to keep my hair looking fabulous!!!

I was visiting from out of town and needed color and a blow dry. After reading reviews online, I decided to try MG. Dina did my color and made a perfect match with my existing color. She knows her color and how to make different brands and color formulas work!! Danielle did my blow dry to a perfect and lasting bounce. These ladies and this salon are fabulous. They made me feel like a welcomed regular. Service and hospitality at its best.

Danielle, I love my hair! In addition to her talent, I love that she was able to listen to what I wanted and needed while providing her professional input. After combining all of these factors, I ended up with a beautiful haircut and blowout. I scheduled this haircut because my hair was getting too long and it felt flat and thin. Now my hair feels healthier and fuller. I am very happy with how my hair turned out because Danielle took her time and really perfected it. Everyone at the salon is very friendly, and scheduling appointments was a breeze. Can't wait to come back!

EDIT: 4 months later and had my hair trimmed and done by Danielle again. Always a wonderful experience with Danielle and super happy with the results. One of the receptionists, however, could be more pleasant and professional.

Hi Mark, I’m truly sorry to write this review as I had the worst haircut experience at your salon this past week. After reading the reviews that spoke so much about Daniele’s services and the overall experience I ended up with the worst haircut ever. It leads me to believe that folks who come to your salon with a Groupon are treated poorly and differently than regular clients. Upon checkin I was handed a gown to change only to lead me to a seat and not to the changing room. It was quite warm outside and the lady next to me was offered water and beverages and I wasn’t asked even once. The shampoo assistant Alma was rude and Daniele finished my haircut in literally 12 mins. I am a buyer for one of our clients ( big fintech companies ) and had come to determine the experience of a regular Groupon customer to see how regular employees at these companies would be treated should they chose to opt in for your discounted services. Daniele never spoke a word throughout the haircut and had a high handed demeanor which leads me to presume that she may not be happy at her workplace. I’m ok to send you pics of my poorly done haircut should you need any proof. I mean this in the best possible way when I say I can very well afford you at $450 a haircut but this time really wanted to see if there was any fairness and equity in treatment to some who book elite haircuts and others who go to the same place with a Groupon. Truly disappointed with this very poor experience by a so called great stylist Daniele and I hope your customers who are planning to go with a Groupon change their minds and book another salon down the street. Do not book Daniele and save yourself the trouble of going through such a discriminatory experience. My friends have used Mark and speak good of him and the other two experienced asian stylists are good too but I would exercise caution in a place that treats so called first time customers in such poor light.

I had a great haircut with Sanae today. It was my first time at the salon, they were so considerate to show me around upon arrival. Sanae was so good and informative love my haircut and I’m booking a Keratin treatment ASAP.

I had a wonderful experience from check-in to hair coloring with Dina and to the fun photoshoot with Mark! Everyone was kind and professional. I love my new hair color and sunkissed highlights. Dina did a great job - I highly recommend her! I really enjoyed my conversations with her and Mark, I couldn't have asked for a better and smooth experience.Thank you!!

I love this salon. They are laid back but Lazer focused on the best customer experience possible. My colorist is a genius. He has my unique recipe saved in notes on his phone.

I found Joseph, a truly amazing colorist a few months ago. Listens and instinctively knew what I was seeking, customizes, and matches color to skin tone, slowly transitioning to grey, fantastic technique, Extremely happy. Was highly recommended to hv a cut with Mark, owner of Salon. Great investment. Again, customized to overall look, lifestyle, real attention to detail. Fantastic service and passionate about their Art of hair cutting and color. Thinking of trying the Cezanne frizz free service next.

Mark Garrison and his team, now housed at the Pierre Michelle salon on East 57th Street, provide the same amazing experience as they have been for years. After two years of not cutting or highlighting my hair, I took my Covid hair to Mark and his staff. Dina did a great job of highlighting, difficult to do well on dark hair, and Mark gave me a cut beyond all cuts. A few hours and two chamomile teas later, I walked out looking and feeling like a million bucks. Thanks Mark and team!

Mark Garrison is the most talented stylist I’ve ever used. He cut & styled my hair to beautifully. Sadly, Years later, I developed cancer and lost all of my hair. I came to him with two very ordinary wigs. He took his time, cut and styled them to perfection & now I resemble my old self.. no one knows I’m wearing a wig. I am forever grateful
