Great until you get sick, respect common courtesy and cancel your appointment, then are shocked because they have no regard for common courtesy and expect you to just skip a haircut until next time. Then you find out that the shock at lack of courtesy was misinterpreted (in spite of agreeing to the provided alternative and even though no demands were made otherwise) and Sidney explodes at you in an unprovoked abusive tirade that he blames on you, then cancels all appointments, including the one scheduled with someone else due to the cancellation from illness. Meanwhile they stop answering the phone to even figure out where this horrific misinterpretation came from or address it in a mature manner. Typical patterns of abusive behavior and refusal to take responsibility. It would have been difficult for them to have handled things with less maturity-- this was at the level of high school nonsense. It’s unclear if Aiden (who answers the phones) is on drugs, but I am at a loss to explain the severity of the misinterpretation any other way. Sidney needs anger counseling, particularly since he still thinks his atrocious behavior was somehow justified.

I have been going to Mart Todd for years, and always have a great experience. Stephen (the owner) has been cutting my hair for a decade, and I will go to no one else!

Tony was excellent! This was my first time visiting Mary Todd’s and Tony was a delight. He achieved exactly what I asked for. Truly an expert at his craft. Knows his way around a fade, he listens, great technique, great conversationalist, and just overall a superb experience.

Getting my hair done by Stacey always gives me a 25% increase in self-confidence. Very rarely have I found a stylist who takes time to actively listen to me. Her attention to detail, in addition to her friendly chair-side manner, is that intangible something that one seeks out as a client. The decor inside Mary Todd makes you feel glamorous that moment you step inside. Everyone is treated like a regular; a level of customer service that seems to be of the antiquated variety is natural here. I felt very welcomed by those whom I didn’t have an appointment with. The vibe was 100 percent comfortable without feeling pretentious or pressured like one would get at a sterile, run of the mill salon. I highly recommend Mary Todd. Top marks.

I can't say enough good things about my first haircut at Mary Todd with Stacey!! From booking the appointment to leaving with my new cut, it was a wonderful experience. The shop has such a nice ambiance, and I really enjoyed my conversation with Stacey - and I'm pretty sure this is the most flattering cut I've had in years! 10/10 would recommend!

I first went to Mary Todd a few years ago to get my hair cut by a little person (dwarf? Forgive me, can’t recall what the proper appellation is for small folk), I think his name was J.J. or Leonard Crabbe. I don’t think he works there anymore, but he had a voice like Tom Waits, and an attitude. I gave it another shot and I’ve been going to Jason for the past few years and he does a great job. Good experience and great service.

Steven is an incredible barber. I have gotten many compliments on my haircut and beard trim, since I started going here a little over a year ago. All the barbers are talented and I would highly recommend trying the shop! I drive 45 minutes to get this quality cut!

Update for 5/23/23 - Jason and Marry Todd continue to be the best in town. Even though the safety isn't needed anymore, the service and consistency are still top notch. Probably the only business I've ever wished I could give more than 5 stars to. I’ve been extremely nervous about getting my hair cut during covid times, but Mary Todd and the employees there are going above and beyond in making sure they can work but also are staying safe. They’ve added extra time to each appointment for sanitizing before and after, they’ve added space between each chair that they use, and they’re changing clothes after each trim to make sure they’re extra safe. We even went outside for the beard trim part while Jason wore a cloth mask and a face shield to allow me to take my mask off while he did my beard. This has always been a 5 star establishment but now I firmly believe they deserve 5 stars for both performance AND safety. They haven’t increased their prices though so make sure you’re tipping appropriately as thanks.

Steven gives me the best haircuts I've ever had and consistently delivers. I've only had two haircuts so far but both of them were different and executed perfectly. He is currently working on my girlfriend's hair now, says a lot. Definitely recommend him and this place.

You get what you pay for. Super quality cut that was worth every penny. This shop doesn't try to be anything it isn't. No gimmicks, just super clean cuts in a chill, relaxing environment. My favorite barber shop in Atlanta.
