Not a fan of massage envy in general, but steer clear of this location in particular!!! Manager is extremely combative and chases people onto the sidewalk to start problems. Poor franchise under poor management. Better off going anywhere else

UPDATE: 1/4/25. Never ever ever get involved with their membership program. It is impossible to book time. You end up accumulating more time than you can ever use. If you cancel your membership, you lose your paid time. And this Laurel location in particular has the worst manager I have ever met in my life. Previous review: Had stretching. Really not their forte. Stick with what you do OR hire stretchers who know how to stretch

Wife has a membership here. She called them today (I was in her office when she did) and tried to cancel her membership and was told she could not!?? My wife was speaking in a very pleasant and non-combative tone, but the female who answered called her "rude" and when asked what her name was, refused to give my wife her name. She instead is calling the Olney location to try to get someone to help her. Either way, STAY AWAY from this location!!! UPDATE 12/24/2024: About two weeks after I posted this review, this locations manager contacted my wife and sent her a form to fill out to cancel her membership, which she promptly did and returned that same day. Since then, they have STILL NOT CANCELLED her membership! She is going in there again in-person this week to confront them Again about this. If you knew my wife, you would know she is one of the sweetest people you could ever meet, so this time I am going to go in with her. Wretched business - STAY AWAY!!!

First off, I’ve been coming to this massage envy for many years and though my therapist has changed, the positive interactions from staff have not. I continuously recieve a homely greeting from the front desk staff but most of all the manager Christina. I remember her by name because she has went above and beyond on many occasions to correct others mistakes on my account, change last minute appointments and has even has sold me on some of the products massage envy has to offer such as candles and essential oils. She is always a joy speaking with and has never greeted me with anything less than a smile despite sometimes the busy operations of the location and honestly, is one of the reasons I am still with Massage Envy. Also, my therapist Okima is outstanding. She’s an excellent therapist, a great listener and has always brightened the room with the positive energy she lets off! Thanks, Massage Envy team!

I scheduled my first appointment at this location weeks ago and received an email informing me it has been canceled just two days before the appointment. No explanation. No voicemail explaining the situation or offer to help with rebooking. I was finally taking some time off around the long weekend and really looking forward to a massage. It’s disappointing and frustrating.

I’m new to the Laurel area and had the pleasure of meeting the manager. I was greeted by Christina the manager and she was a breath of fresh air. She was very friendly, knowledgeable, receptive and fast. She handled my transferring needs with ease. I recommend this location.

When you’d rather pay $50 more than be locked in a membership and see the front desk person with an attitude. I asked a simple question and was met with an attitude. Made an already hard day worse.

This location changed my appointment to a different time with a different staff member without consulting me and I was forced to cancel. I did not find out until the day before through a text message. They gave no explanation and did not know how it got changed. Horrible first impression.

Update to my post below: The manager called me and we were able to get everything squared away. Here now for my first stretch session! Front desk here is a joke. I called early January and left a message; two weeks or so later I get a return voicemail. I call back and was ask if they could call me back - no call back. Call on 2/3 and spoke with someone who was to email me a contract - no email received. Called and asked to come in, I said I would the next day. Went in and the price quoted me had Increased $10/month. Service rep could not help and manager who asked me to come in was not there; it was requested that come back re price. I am a potential customer and they keep asking me to come in to even get the membership started. Manager said she is not computer-savvy which in 2024 is not an excuse; computers are now and not going anywhere. I want to support my neighborhood but will have to venture to other locations for good customer service! Maybe a day in Annapolis will not be so bad. Very unfortunate regarding Massage Envy Laurel.

Amazing customer service from Meera (front desk). She took time to help me schedule all of my facials and massages in advance to ensure I used the services I paid for. Her knowledge, patience, and warm demeanor is a major reason the Laurel location is my primary location.

I love my massages here. I am dealing with sciatica pain and after having my massage with Dee, I kid you not the pain was pretty much gone. She is of the best.She also gives good advice on how to prevent pain and stiffness.

Well I was supposed to get my first massage today, but my massage therapist was apparently a no call no show. Funny how if I did that, I’d owe 100% of what I paid for the session. Seems only fitting that I should get a free massage for getting stood up. Not off to a great start. The next time they could fit me in isn't until 2 weeks from now.

Worst investment ever, customer service is pretty good. But as for business practices from management and ownership, worst I’ve ever experienced. First off I was billed during COVID while this place was closed down, and wasn’t aware. Now I can’t book and appointment and when you do it’s a month out, but then on the day of that appointment they send you a text a few hours prior and it says your appointment has been cancelled. Your therapist had a problem of some sort. Don’t waste your money on a subscription on a contract with these people. Trust me you will regret it, save your money. I hope this helps someone, saves them from the aggravation and stress.

Horrible. Appointments are hard to get. When we attempt to cancel we got the run around. We were told that it cant be done in person ( Lie). then over the phone multiple time explaining that we needed to cancel. Sent us am e-mail from "Clinic1125" that we responded back to, charged us again. Said they never got our cancel request. This place is managed horribly. The Manager Ariana, is no help, she doesn't understand thier own T&Cs. Now my wife has 18 plus credits and 4 days to use them because they don't know how to mange a business. She just blames it on corporate.

I am very disappointed in this location’s disregard for customers and lack of professionalism. They ruined the experience we wanted to give our sister for her birthday. She was able to get an appointment today and once she got there, she was told the masseuse called out because he was in traffic. Things happen of course, but this call happened 5 minutes before her appointment time. The staff was nonchalant in accommodating her for the inconvenience they caused. I’m sure if it was reversed, she’d pay a fee. This has turned me all the way off from gifting my family and friends with massage envy gift cards!!

I used to come to this location a lot because it was right near my house. One Day randomly my massage got rescheduled which ultimately is fine things happen. However, it got worse because for the next two months, my massage got rescheduled and then they also tried to blame it on me. One day the receptionist called again about rescheduling my appointment and thought it was a good idea to add on to that call about an additional fee based upon where I originally got my membership. I brought up all the cancellations and asked what they could possibly do for me due to all the inconveniences. Another woman jumped on the call (guess it was a training call) with an attitude saying that there’s nothing that they could do for me because I’m the one that had been canceling all my massages, which was not true. once I explained all the dates that they had rescheduled me, she finally realized her mistake and tried to make it up. Keep in mind the attitude never left her tone. Thus after three years of a membership was Massage Envy I have decided to cancel my membership altogether due to this location. I know you’re suggesting oh why didnt you just go to a new one I went to another location close to the Laura location and they were just as rude. I guess I’ll be saving my $75 and putting that towards something else now. Thanks, Massage Envy.

It is hard to find a place that is perfect. This massage location is decent. I love the atmosphere and vibe of the place. It is very relaxing whenever I have an appointment. It is somewhat challenging to get evening appointments with a masseuse who caters to medium to deep pressure.

They canceled my appointment saying they close on Saturdays at 5 PM. Why do they list availability at 4 PM for a one-hour session? Not only this, they charged cancellation fee even though the customer did not cancel.

I have been going to Dee for years she is the best. I tried another therapist and he was good also. Dee is my favorite. The front desk ladies are friendly as well. I go to the massage envy in Laurel, Md.

Regularly canceled scheduled massages the day before or on the same day. Got the subscription filled with fine print. Wasted hundreds of dollars on massages I never got. They respond to these reviews to project an image of concern like they'll fix it but nobody actually ever reaches out.

Terrible customer service! I responded to the appointment confirmation text that I had to cancel. My response was two days ahead of my appointment. I was charged for my appointment. When I called to ask why I was charged when I had canceled with ample notice, I was told that they don’t accept text responses for cancellations. If you don’t want to communicate with customers via text, don’t send one and ask for a reply. I’ve been a member since 2008 and will be canceling my membership after this. If you are a member and are looking for somewhere to go, the other locations in the area are easier to work with and accept and honor text communications with their clients. I would highly recommend the Rotunda location. Unfortunately, it is too far from my home to go regularly and keep my membership.
