Tried to book an appointment online but was having difficulty achieving the desired result. Instead called in to speak with a rep who then asked me for my credit card for "Cancellation policies" ok fine. She then literally read my high balance credit card number to room and whomever was standing in front of her. I asked her not to do this she then put me on a brief hold, came back, and stated "We will not be booking this massage today" and immediately hung up. I don't think it's a lot to ask for someone to not blast your credit card number out to a room of strangers. After she abruptly hung up on me, I dialed back, to speak with someone and they would not answer. Had I not had a gift card already paid for, I would've never tried to even go there. I'm pretty grossed out by the customer service. UPDATE: I have tried calling several times and even emailed them, have not heard back, they do not answer their phone. Good luck to anyone that's trying to get a massage there. I will try again tomorrow, and the next day, and the next. I will keep updating the review timeline. UPDATE TO THE UPDATE: Crickets. No one has even tried to reach out. However, I find a great masseuse. His name is Matt, he works at Injury Solutions right down the street where Lynnhaven meets the Blvd. Phenomenal experience. Pricing is way better too. (I went for the two hour massage) I have been having issues with my right hip and was perfectly functional after our session. The only reason I was even hitting up Massage Envy was because my brother bought me a gift certificate, otherwise I would have not opted for a cookie cutter generic massage place. If you are looking for a more catered experience with someone who can work very flexible hours, hit up Injury Solutions. I will probably just give the Massage Envy gift certificate to someone I really don't like. lol. Like "Here's some aggravation for ya" UPDATE TO THE UPDATED UPDATE: No one ever reached out or followed up. I still have the gift card.

Came here with my husband for a 30 minute tension relief. The front desk lady was very kind and informative. My husband got Bernadette and I got Marsha. My husband absolutely enjoyed his massage which I am grateful for since he needed this more than me. But my massage was pointless. Unfortunately, Marsha was more engaged in having a conversation which I took part in because I didn't want to seem rude. A few comments were said that made me feel a way but I will just leave it at that. When comparing the massages with my husband, he had a way different experience. He even got a hot towel, actual hand massages, toes and fingers, offered a mint and water towards the end! I literally just had a low setting vibrating gun on my shoulders and a weird vibe. I hate to put anyone down but it was very disappointing and not worth time and money.

I ended my memembership awhile back. My appointments were constantly rescheduled on me by the staff. And they never had their schedules posted. I scheduled my appointments ahead of time and if I canceled day of got hit with a fee, but if I got canceled on the day of, I was expected to deal with it. I scheduled ahead of time because that's when I had available, but I guess your staff doesn't value their clients. That's how I took it. Suggestion, have them post 3 months worth of their schedule for clients to schedule ahead of time, if I client is canceled on day of, offer a free service, and if a staff member makes a habit out of calling out, maybe have a consequence in place, it's frustrating and inconvenient.

Christian was great. Just the right pressure. And very respectful. Too bad most people don't understand that men can make the best massage therapist. Asked for scalp massage and he was great. Also did feet last which most do that before head and hands. That never made sense to me. Glad that he understands how important sanitation is. Thank you, christian. Great job!

I had been a member since 2017 at Massage Envy. And overall there are pretty good masseuse there. The stars I gave are for the great masseuse like Erica, who are just fantastic. But back in May, I had the worst interaction with the manager Zee, who she lacks professionalism, customer service and problem solving skills. I took so long to post this because I was trying to resolve it with the director but after months of false promises she never resolved my membership issue. But back to Zee, I honestly don’t know how she is a manager and I think she may be the problem with this location’s customer care going down. Cause similar to the other recent comments a had 2 back to back couple’s massages appts canceled less than 24 hours before it was scheduled. The last time they called my partner and not me. And when I called seeking assistance on why my appts were canceled back to back and if there was anything they can do. She offered no resolutions other than I can come the next day. I told her that wouldn’t work and instead of looking for other days or trying other locations. She laughed and joked about that being all she can do and how she was the highest in the chain that I could talk to as if she was the owner and CEO. She later canceled my membership without my permission and expired my remaining sessions, which again I had no knowledge of until I reached out to the other VA Beach location. She is terrible for this company and I had never had an issue especially with customer service in all my 7 years until I met her. The absolute worst. She also joked about how Hand and Stone Massage was dusty and that their customer service wasn’t any better cause she use to work there. But I think any place were she isn’t employed is already a better start!

Yesterday was my first time going here. It was not the best massage I received before but it was okay.. I wanted focus on my lower back and my neck. The massage I received was rough, seem like stabbing in the upper back and lower back now my whole body is sore. I wouldn't recommend anyone to this location. Also was being convinced to get an membership that I didn't want to receive, I don't think it's worth $130 for a non memeber.

I had the absolute worst massage by Leanne today. It was a complete waste of time and money. To start, she called me back to the massage room over 10 minutes past my scheduled time. I told her that I had just got back from traveling the night before, so I would like to really just focus on my head, neck, shoulders, and upper back, bet I’ve been having a lot of tension. Once she started the massage, she mostly focused on my lower back and glutes - easily half the time I was actually get the massaged was spent on something that I didn’t request. She spent maybe 10 min total working on odd area of my upper back, like pushing up against my armpit (when I have two very obvious and difficult areas around my shoulder blades) and then maybe 5-10 on my neck in total, but only the frontal/side - not at all where I was having tension. I always prefer firm/deep pressure, but her massage style solely felt like being jabbed in the soft areas, and pressing skin against bone. The entire massage was either uncomfortable or a complete joke. I have never left what is supposed to be a tension reducing massage, more tense and annoyed. Also, I’ve had massage therapists use gloves before which is fine, but they typically ask, but I very distinctly thought I smelled latex (which I’m allergic to) - I did forget to ask about the type of gloves she wore, but with so many people that have latex allergies, you would think someone would check prior.

6/17/24 Updated review: My husband and I signed our membership cancelation request and my rating has changed to 2 stars. We got screwed out of 2 of 3 massages due to the staff. When I called to schedule a 90 min couples massage, they scheduled a 60 min massage for us. I specifically said 90 min because we would drive 2 HOURS for our massage so the 60 min wouldn't be worth it. When I called and told them there was some miscommunication with the front desk, they refused to do anything so we canceled our appt. 2 months later, I get a call asking if we can come earlier due to one of our therapists being out sick. I told them we couldn't because of the drive and then she suggested that 1 of us get our massage and the other one doesn't. Why would you even ask that? You're better off going to an individually owned massage place. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable however, today I find out that when my husband breaks a bill and tells the people at the front desk to leave that as a tip for our therapists, on top of what we already gave them, we find out that the extra money for the tip does not get to them! I was very surprised and shocked when I heard that! We love going for our couples massages and we don't want to go anywhere or see anyone else because they get the spots that need to get worked out! It's a shame that people would be so dishonest!

I have been a client of this spa for a number of years. For the last year and a half, I have lived in Smithfield Va, however I travel to Va Beach, so I have have my 90 minute message with Ms. Bernadette. She is the nest message therapist I have ever had. No matter what I tell is hiving me pain, she works on it and when I leave, I am pain free. She is so wonderful. I drive an hour to see her, and will continue to. She has sure been a blessing to me. Thank you Bernadette

The massage was pretty good although the gloves were a little irritating but I get if some people prefer it for safety reasons. But I feel like she rushed a little cause she was running a a little behind so I didn’t get my full 50 minutes.

I booked my appointment with Bryan for a medium pressure massage with the added bio freeze and Bryan did such an amazing job. I was a little skeptical at first because of the reviews from Yelp but I really enjoyed my massage and was so happy my husband gifted me with a gift card. I booked my next appointment and am contemplating the membership now.

I had very bad experience, I booked 60 min massage the masseuse started at 12:20 and finished at 1pm so basically 40 min I’m missing 20 other minutes of massage plus she puts gloves in without my permission and I have latex allergy without even asking me, plus the light was too bright and the music was loud, and she was sitting on the stool please , she is supposed to give me a deep tissue massage I was really confused , the wonderful part is I was charged full price for 60 min deep tissue session . I had a horrible experience I don’t recommend this place at all . And she did massage only my back and back legs that’s it with some stretching and never mentioned stretch I needed a full body massage i went there to relax, but I had a very bad experience I paid and left unhappy .

The massage therapist asked me what I wanted, and she asked if I wanted deep tissue or what. I said deep, but as she massaged, I advised her to do it harder. She then told me why she doesn't like to do deep tissue, explaining that the muscles are fighting against you and continued to massage softly. I told her that I only wanted back, feet, and hands. She wanted to do neck also, so I said ok. When all said and done, she didn't do my hands, barely did back or feet but added legs, arms, and stretching. I was not happy but didn't say anything.

Donna is amazing! I’ve been going to this site and one other site in the area for over a year. I always ask for deep tissue pressure for massages, but at both sites, usually got only medium (at least from my perspective). A few weeks ago, I saw Donna and was so pleasantly surprised and relieved! She gave me a truly deep tissue massage. She did such a great job. I’m definitely going back for another massage with her soon.

I made a same day appointment for a 90 minute massage and everything went super smoothly. The massage with Donna was terrific and she was able to do harder pressure for me. I did upgrade to CBD oil and intensive muscle with a concentration for my upper back. She’s a really great masseuse and I’m leaving here completely relaxed!

I was trying to book online but the website kept giving me an error. I called to get assistance with booking a massage for my best friends birthday. I spoke with Nicole who was such a breathe of fresh air. She was polite, friendly, and was able to answer all my questions and get me taken care of. Nicole is a the type of person who exemplifies not good but excellent customer service. She went above and beyond to help. I’m so thankful she answered the phone when I called. Leann did my massage and it was the best massage I've ever had, she was so sweet and walked me through the whole process. Ashley was also amazing and friendly she made sure I understood everything and helped me out with an issue I had with my account. I had previously went to another location but this location had a much better atmosphere and by far was the best experience I've ever had at any massage place.
