I came in with some minor back discomfort (desk job) and some challenges in my carpel tunnel. Kieran did such a great job of listening to my needs, teaching me a bit about what I’m feeling, reassuring things were actually ok, and most importantly healing! I feel relieved both physically and mentally and look forward to coming back soon!

My go to massage spot in SF! Good availability, fair prices, and easy booking / rescheduling. Get the 5 or 10 massage packs - they sometimes have 10% sales which make them especially worth. Massage therapists are knowledgeable and kind - especially Kieran and James! I work out a lot and have had chronic neck pain - they have helped ease a lot of that with deep tissue, sports massage, and stretching tips. Thank you!

Cozy little place with a fire place! Serita has given me a deep tissue massage twice now and it’s cured my headaches + neck tightness. Will continue to get massages here!

James is an intuitive outstanding therapist. I often find that the first massage I get from a therapist is great but the subsequent ones are hit or miss. Not the case with James who is consistent and fantastic every time.

What a gem of a find in the city; the space itself and the attentiveness of the business are great but my therapist, Evan, is why I return. He is truly gifted and has given me ease where there was ongoing tension and pain — whenever I am lucky enough to see him, the rest of my week goes much better because I feel better physically, which of course translates directly to all else.

Great bodywork-type massages at a more-than-reasonable price in a no-frills location. So far I've had massages from 2 different therapists and enjoyed each - I will be back! I also want to leave feedback specifically for Cheryl at the Duboce Triangle location. I cycle 40+ miles a week, also bike commute daily, and weight-lift 3x a week. Although I do stretch, I have a lot of tightness that I've been accustomed to over time. I left my 60-minute session with her feeling incredible and not knowing this is what my body can feel like!

Great massage, really thoughtful therapist. He was very sensitive to an injury I had and really worked to make sure I was comfortable. I'd definitely recommend this business. The building is unmarked so you need to look through *all* the confirmation emails sent by the booking website to get the door code.

I booked a 60 minute massage with Kieran since I needed to use some Class Pass credit. The space was clean and relaxing. Prior to beginning, he asked if I had any pain and wanted to make sure any concerns I had were considered. He focused on a technique called fascia release and targeted my neck and shoulders since I sit at a desk the majority of the day. I was surprised by how great I felt afterward. I left feeling extremely refreshed without tension in my neck/back, and ready to take on the week. I would absolutely come back and will be using any extra credits here again.

Kieran is a caring, honest, and very skilled rolfer. He could immediately intuit all kinds of problems with my fascia and backs it up with a very deep and scientific knowledge of anatomy. I finally felt my shoulders for the first time in I don’t know how long lol

Kieran is not only a wonderful sports massage therapist with decades of martial arts experience, he's also a Certified Rolfer and helps his clients recover from strain patterns as well as posture and movement problems. I highly recommend him especially for cases of recurring pain and tension that keep coming back. He'll get to the deeper roots of the problems and helps find new patterns out of the old rut. He's also hilarious if you encourage some comedy. You can just ask for a good deep massage and he'll deliver, but if you want to find new neuropathways in addition to what already works for you, ask him to do a short evaluation of your gait and posture and work within a Rolfing framework.

Kieran understood what was going on with me almost immediately, and with minimal explanation from me. That’s when I realized I was in very capable hands. He succinctly explained his approach, and then got right to it. Even though I could tell he was doing very deep work, it was not painful. I was not wincing, my hand was not balled into a fist. I was comfortable and relaxed. After our first session, I bought a package of 10 sessions because I felt confident that Kieran could help me. The space is quiet and comfortable, and Kieran is a welcoming practitioner. It was easy to book online, and confirmation emails provided all of the info I needed. Great service experience!

Massage Grotto - Kieran in particular - is amazing. Kieran is a consummate professional. His knowledge of the body is unbelievable and he is an incredible, incredible masseur. After my first session, I bought a ten-pack because I felt such a difference - not just immediately after the massage, but for a few days it felt like I was walking on air. I keep going back.

Gabee is amazing!!!! I’ve been having specific back pain/sciatica for about a month. I told her what I was feeling and she knew exactly what to do and she did it well! She is very knowledgeable about each muscle group and applies the perfect amount of pressure. She goes above and beyond with tailoring the massage to your needs. I just had a session with Gabee at the Duboce location. The location is kind of hidden among the other houses ok the area, but the ambiance inside was great. She made sure to check-in to make sure I was comfortable throughout the massage, and worked really hard to get all the knots out. She was even able to tell that I had had an arm injury when I was in my teens! I feel refreshed and easy for my half marathon this weekend. Thanks Gabee! I’ll definitely be back in a couple of months.
