been to a few massage parlour in the neighbourhood and this one is been best so far. Depends on who’s giving the massage of course but Emily here is pretty good

My first massage in over a decade and all went wonderfully. I think my therapist did a good job responding to and working with my body, not too light pressure but not crazy hard given my recent inexperience with massages! Hope to be back here again soon.

Great first experience! Came in with a very stiff neck. Worked with Krisi. Fantastic at communicating, really listened to my problem at hand and was extremely helpful in trying to reduce my pain. Left feeling much better and she was great in talking me through what to avoid and what will help going forward.

I made an appointment for my partner for her first massage ever and she was beyond grateful! She left very happy, talked for hours about how wonderful Ina was and how good she explained to her what her body needs and her recommendations. Definitely making this a part of our routine!

Very last minute booking for a massage for 2 people. Justin's wonderfully accommodating and very professional. Very very nice experience overall. Highly recommended for anyone looking to have a nice spa day.

I can’t rave enough about my recent massage with Justin. We had a brief chat beforehand to establish the type of massage/intensity and he listened very carefully to everything I said. His technique was customized to my specific needs, the massage was not a mechanical repetition of patterns, it was more of an impromptu dance. Think powerful jazz, not line dancing :). And I felt light and reborn after. Thank you Justin!!

I have been getting deep tissue massages for 15+ years, and just like shoes and mental health therapists-one needs to find the right fit. I have found only a handful of memorable (in a good way) massage therapists and I can happily say that JJ is one of them. (He’s also a physical therapist) JJ definitely knows the body; he applied exactly the right amount of pressure for my areas of tension and I left my session feeling soooo much better. I’m so glad there’s a quality place to get deep tissue massages now in the Richmond District, and I’ll definitely be back!

I love having this resource in the neighborhood. Massage can be expensive, but Massage Grotto seems to always be offering packages that make self-care more affordable. Krisi is a great therapist, and offered suggestions for stretches to keep the benefits of her work alive in my body.

Just had an amazing massage from Gabee, but before I get to her magic touch... - The space: tucked away and unassuming, an so peaceful! Loved the fountain and music, I was truly in a sanctuary. - 30 min massage: somehow enough to lower my high stress levels to virtually zero, and start smoothing my MANY back knots - Hot towels... need I say more? - Gabee is so friendly and observant, easy to chat with, but respected my need to just zone out and not say too much :) And her touch - did I mention magical? I opted for the CBD oil at no extra charge and that combined with her intuitive massage was incredible. I left feeling like a new woman. Will definitely go back soon!

My bodywork/ROLFing session with Kieran was everything I needed. He has such a wealth of knowledge on healing the body and did such a good job of walking me through each of his moves. My hips/wrist/shoulder all feel phenomenal after only one session. Will most definitely be coming back.

My massage with Krisi was great! She asked a lot of questions about the treatment that I wanted, listened carefully as I explained my chronic tension, and afterwards she gave an in-depth explanation of which muscles were particularly tight and offered suggestions on follow up treatment. She worked carefully (so as not to aggravate my inflamed muscles) and methodically. I will definitely be back!

I had a wonderful experience with Gabee! She was professional, excellent at her work, and gave me one of the best massages I’ve had. She even extended my session an additional 15 min after a short delay in getting into the massage studio that was out of her control. Highly recommend-will be going back to her for sure. I've been here a few times and have seen Krissi, Kieran, and Felicia. All of them have been fabulous! They all have different styles but are all very professional and skilled at finding those spots and ironing them out, plus they all have amazing energy. Love how I feel when I'm here. Their fireplace is so cozy and their oils are very calming. They offer a teacher discount which makes this type of healing much more accessible too! Thank you Massage Grotto!

Love this place, very relaxing and cozy. I got a deep tissue massage with Ina and she did a wonderful job! The only thing missing was the hot towels at the end to wipe off the oils.
