I love love love the service I receive here. Nicole has been doing my hair and my mom’s hair for years. We both have locs and she’s maintained them so well for us for so long. My younger brother is starting his locs with her and will become a regular here as well. I just got my locs done for my 20th birthday and as usual I love it! These are just two of the styles that Nicole has done for me and love all of them.

I booked an appointment online for a loc retwist and was charged $19.76 on my card. The morning of the appointment, I tried calling before I got there b/c I was running a little behind, but nobody answered, so I left a voicemail. When I got there, all of the lights were off and the door was locked... I tried calling again before I left the parking lot and yet again, nobody answered. Some time passed and I realized that I NEVER received a call back, so I tried calling again, mainly to get my money back. This time someone did answer and once I started asking about trying to get my money back, it seemed as though she had an attitude. She said she was with a client and to call back in about 30 minutes. Before I could really get any words put to respond, she already hung up. I called back 30 minutes later and surprise, surprise, nobody answered and I didn't get a call back from that either. I have never experienced anything like that before when it came to getting my locs retwisted b/c most locticians have been pretty peaceful and relaxed. If you've had a good experience with this business then great for you. But I did not and I do NOT recommend. If I could give them 0 stars, I would... just terrible and very unprofessional.

Ok I understand sometimes we have bad days,but apparently Nicole(the stylist) is just a rude person EVERY DAY. ? She barely has any good reviews, which should tell her something. She starts off calling me 2 hours before my scheduled appointment time (someone probably cancelled) to ask if we can come at 10 instead of 11. I paid deposit online based on her prices but we get there she ups the price by $60 way after she starts my daughter's hair, I was already paying $107 + $20 deposit for Locs retwist. Now she's rushing cause she has overbooked herself. Soon as I questioned why she upped the price she gets rude,and nasty proceeded to say now I have to pay in advance after she has already started. She tells me it's on her policy page to pay in advance, which is a lie. She stopped doing my daughter's hair and starts another person's hair until I paid her, at this point we have no choice but to pay $187 which is a lot of money,and what if I didn't have it. We would be SOL We asked for a simple quick style of the retwist,she says NO WE HAVE TO BOOK ANOTHER APPOINTMENT AND PAY AGAIN!! NEVER AGAIN

This might be the worst place for locs in this state and that’s no exaggeration. If it wasn’t for the amount of times that are open for an appointment they’d probably get little to no business. Unfortunately the amount of time slots would most likely have you coupled with someone else while your appointment is in the midst leaving the stylist to do two heads at once. The speed and aggression Nicole uses is unacceptable with locs if you’re tenderheaded stay away at all costs. She just didn’t really seem like she cared she did my two strand twist and did it so tight I had to go home and take them out. Whether it’s the constant ripping sound you hear in your head or her ignoring the flinching you’re doing under her aggressive hands. I’d say it’s Not worth the 100+ I spent. It was funny of her to assume I’d Be coming back at all. Terrible atmosphere doesn’t get to know her clients at all or their hair just treats them like a chore. I would not recommend going here if you have locs your locs will be ruined and time will be wasted. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS.

I made a appointment and gave my deposit for 12:00. I get to the location and no one is there. They need to take the old location off of google immediately. They canceled me and refunded me but now I am having difficulty getting a retwist. Not fair at all.

I was looking forward to patronizing with this salon at their Green Brier location, unfortunately that was derailed by lack of professionalism. I scheduled an appointment after 7pm on there website in which it stated if making appointments after hours book for after 10am. I proceeded and saw their only availability was with stylist Nicole at 8am, 8:30am & 9am. So I booked for 8:30 after arriving I waited over an hour contacted their customer service line and spoke to 3 representatives who would try to contact the stylist. The stylist responded and said she apologized and could reschedule for the following day because she already started her day. No problem, she scheduled the appointment for 10am & that she would notify me if she finished her first client before then so I could possibly come earlier. At 6:45 am the following day the stylist sends a text message asking if I could come to their Newport News location @ 9:30. I reside in the VA beach area, I had a scheduled sitter for my toddler slated to come at 9:30. I explained this to the stylist (who continued to text me before 7am) at approximately 7:15 am. She then responded that she is short staff (although I understand that is solely not my problem when you’re running a business and schedule appointments for clients based on your availability). Additionally instead of trying to accommodate for the mishap on their part, she quickly stated I can return your deposit if you can’t come to Newport News by 9:30 in which she had already canceled the appt when I asked how do I retrieve my refund today as I have to find a last minute same day appointment nearly impossible, due to me going on vacation tomorrow morning. She rudely stated for me to contact my bank. Extremely disappointed and hope that no one else has to experience this at this salon. *****EDIT**** I’m not sure how to add pictures of a thread here but once I figure it out, I will kindly post the receipts in addition to the threatening message the stylist just sent me in regards to me making this review in which you stated you can “do rude really well.” As I stated be blessed & I pray you are able to get the proper manning the appointments you agree to requires.

It was my first time here. Ms. Keke washed, retwisted my locs, and gave me two braids. It came out very neat and I loved it. She was also very polite and courteous. I would definitely be going back.

Nicole is the laziest loctician I have ever seen, I was very excited to get a barrel twist style on my locs, and as soon as I walked in she told me my hair was too short, which is a lie because I’ve seen people with locs shorter than mine get the style perfectly fine with no problems , she doesn’t even try she just assumes it’s too short, so I advise all the people who are early into their loc journey don’t book with her because unless your locs are down your back she’s not even going to attempt with you

Really wish i could give this place 0 stars. I like the speed of the owner buy that's about it. I stopped coming to the shop because I would always beat the stylist there. My appointment is 7 I'm calli at 720 to find out where someone is. Never an apology. My husband decided to start coming back to this shop and on the first appointment she says I need to push your time back. It went from 9 to 11 to can you come to patrick henry. I set up an appointment despite this thinking third times a charm. Wrong. My appointment go from 745 to 9 to can you come to patrick henry at 11. The inconvenience. I don't live near patrick henry which is why I schedule for the location I do. I also can't keep taking time out of my day to support your business when I don't feel it's appreciated.
