I hesitate to write this review because I selfishly want to keep Ana a secret! I came in with thin, lifeless hair desperately in need of help. Ana, trained in Italy, has an unparalleled gift for cutting hair with precision and a clear vision. When I looked in the mirror, I almost cried—my hair was full of volume, shine, and life. No frizz, no gray, no problem areas. Ana is truly a hidden gem, and while I’d love to keep her all to myself, her talent deserves to be shared. Everyone should experience a haircut by Ana at least once in their life. She’s pure magic! Moving onto my heavenly facial. Mandy is an amazing esthetician! I was super impressed with the care and attention I received at my facial appointment. Mandy was very tentative and thorough on explaining with detail what she was doing and what products she was using on my face. I felt relaxed and at ease. I was pretty impressed with the final result. My face and neck have never felt better. Thanks Again Mandy — you are amazing!

I came in today for a consult with Shanna because I had gone to a different salon in portage park looking for Auburn hair and just a little trim and ended up with an ugly grey dark purple and a weird short cut. Shanna was able to fix the color to a better purple and cut a cute bob all in one day!! Everyone at Matisse is always so kind and do their best to send you out the door with healthy, pretty hair.

Miss Robin continues to give me the most natural, golden highlights that I just love so much. She takes such good care of my hair, recommending treatments, haircuts, etc. to keep my hair looking healthy and beautiful! I love her work but love her more! Matisse is such a sweet little neighborhood spot - so pleasant to spend time there.

Such a cute, colorful salon with welcoming vibes. Robin is truly a talented stylist and has great attention to detail. As someone with curly hair, it can be tricky to find someone you trust and she hits it out of the park every time. My checkout process after service was quick and painless and rescheduling my next appointment with Nicole at the front desk was a breeze! Will be back!

Emily gave me a blow out hair dry for an event and did a great job! She specializes in blow outs and is really thorough! So much so that she didn’t even need to straighten it after or use any additional tools. It ended up looking great and was very silky and smooth. Thank you!

Brittany is really really cool not only as a hairstylist but as a person. I got a haircut from lisa who is also very very good. The price is right the service is incredible. Also, you get your hair washed and your head thoroughly massaged. It was a dream experience. I’m very happy with my haircut. 👍

The staff was so friendly and I loved the outcome of my hair coloring. The major issue that made me not come back to the salon for a second time was how overpriced it was here. I've never come close to spending almost $300 to get my hair done EVER. I think it's insane that they charged me $72 to get my bangs trim and not even a quarter inch of my ends trimmed. They also charged me an insane amount for the toner they used and nobody ever gave me a cost breakdown before we began the appointment. I felt blindsided when they told me how much my total was. Even though I loved the way my hair turned out and my stylist was really nice- it is absolutely wild how overpriced their services were and I'm incredibly disappointed that the cost outweighs a positive experience. Don't go here unless you're ok with spending an obscene amount of money for a color and trim.

Haven’t had a haircut in 2 1/2 years and today was my first time @ Matisse. Carly ( not sure of spelling) was fantastic !!! Asked what I wanted, made suggestions and she worked her magic. Amazing what a haircut can do to change your mindset. Beautiful salon, friendly service from the minute you walk in . Thank you so much !!

I just moved here a couple of years ago and had a hard time finding a stylist that understood my wavy, thick hair. Lisa at Matisse was professional, skilled, and able to get me the look I wanted. I also felt that the salon was high end without being high cost. I'll be back!

Mandy does the best facials! She's gentle and a great listener. I feel so calm and relaxed every time I go in for a facial treatment. She has also done my makeup on several occasions and listens to what I want. From glowy to glam...she's a pro!

I've only been a handful of times. Each time I am content with the service. Staff is very friendly. Front desk are always the sweetest. Very accommodating. It is pricey, but you get what you pay for
