Takashi is a master. He is the first stylist I went to in 30 years that actually listened when I said I didn't want to lose my length. Where a lot of stylists would have been done he did not stop with finishing touches even after drying and styling until he perfected the haircut and was satisfied with his own work. He clearly holds a high standard for himself and I am already looking forward to my next visit. Thank you Takashi!!

It started with the friendly voice on the phone (Izzy)! She was so sweet and happy to accommodate me. I was lucky to book a same day haircut with Sho. He listened carefully to my ideas, and then gently moved my hair this way and that, to see how it naturally fell. He worked with a quiet intensity. He cut the hair dry, and then washed it in the most gentle, but thorough way possible complete with a relaxing scalp massage. I love my cut!! :-) There was soft music in the background, but the vibe was peaceful and soothing. I hope to go back again when I am in town! If you are lucky enough to live in the city, pay a visit to Sho today! You will be happy you did.

I’ve been coming to do color and haircut with Kako for more than 5 years now! And it’s hands down the best place to get your hair done ! Kako is amazing she cuts my hair and it grows back like magic! And she’s the only person I trust to dye my hair another color. Highly recommend to all my friends and others!

I’ve always had a wonderful experience at Matano and would recommend it to any friend. I’ve had my hair cut several times by Takashi who is incredibly talented. He really listens and ensures he understands what you want and he offers recommendations. He is meticulous and precise and seems to genuinely care about his craft. The customer experience has also been exceptional. I would recommend the Milbon treatments; Takashi and his team take their time with the process and I always love the results!

Michelle is a color goddess! She gives so much detailed attention to my hair and leaves me looking and feeling great. The process is definitely long, but worth it. I even have other hair stylists ask me where I get my color done because they like it so much!

Takashi is the man! He is the talented owner who I've been seeing for a couple years because he always guarantees a perfect hair day with his amazing attention to detail. Came here for a trim back in early April and I wanted to leave a quick review! I absolutely loved my cut by Takashi! He was a great stylist, super warm and friendly. He helped to frame my face with a nice trim. Because I have thick & coarse hair, he also helped layer it as well, which was a plus! Definitely book him for an appointment!

I feel like I owe Takashi a great review after another amazing haircut. Takashi has been my one and only hair stylist for many years. When I had my first haircut from him, I knew that I found 'the one'! I am sure many people understand what I am talking about! Like many of his customers, I followed him from other salons to this current one. His eye for the great balance is most distinguishable from others after you leave the salon. The look he creates, elegant yet effortlessly balanced and edgy, lasts and lasts. He knows how lazy I am with styling so he puts an extra step to it to be the Least-No maintenance necessary. I understand how much effort he puts in his art and I have so much respect for him. My friends are all life long fans of his. Thank you Takashi and see you soon!

I’ve been to Michelle to have my hair cut several times. She never disappoints, it’s always exactly what I asked for and the cut grows in beautifully. 10/10 would recommend. For reference, I have medium length fine straight hair.

MICHELLE is honestly the BEST!! Every time I go in to get my hair done I leave feeling amazing and beautiful!! She can do NO WRONG! I highly recommend her for anyone thinking of visiting this salon. Takashi is not only the most meticulous stylist but also the most artistic. He knows just how hair flows and grows, and cuts in a way that works perfectly fits your face and overall look. The best part is that his cut gets even better over time! It grows in so so beautifully. He is a true artist!

Came in for a very last minute appointment, the day before New Years Eve. I always get a bit nervous with new stylists because I have short and wavy hair. Michelle surprised me in the best possible way. I really loved my haircut - super precise and feminine - she helped shape and cleaned up my hair. The style was perfect even after I washed it and styled it on my own. I’ve definitely found a new stylist and I’m so glad I made that last minute decision to get a haircut. I randomly walked into Matono Salon a year ago because I loved the salon’s interior and have been coming back ever since because of how great the stylists are. I’ve been to both Takashi (owner) and Michelle and loved them both. Definitely recommend.
