I am a very honest person, if you look at my reviews you will see that I post mostly positive reviews, I feel like this is a very fair review .I am giving one star for personality of technician, very sweet girl, she is very hospitable, the second star is for timliness, she was very punctual. The 3rd star was kept because the price that I thought I was paying and what I paid was not correct. (Make sure you go over money in detail and have your client sign something) I wanted a full extension experience done impeccably, not half of a job, I would have paid way more for it to be done right, which now I am. (-$760 in the whole) The 4th star was kept because she did not cut my hair or blend it well or blow it fully out nicely, this is what a real professional technician let me know, there was so much information that I, a new person to extensions should have been told, The 5th star was for the charge to my credit card that I did not authorize. I was exhausted that day, I forgot about the appointment but I usually get at least one chance, that grace should have been given to me. It honestly hurt my feelings and that is the other reason why I decided not to come back. I was very nice, Life happens, extend some curtesy. At the prices that are charged you would have been fine not charging me. The honest thing here would be to give me at least 50% of my money back. It would say alot about your integrity as a person. We are all working hard out here and it's expensive for everyone, regardless, there are lots of lessons to be learned here for everyone. Please stay blessed and remember that the good you do comes back to you, it really does...

I highly recommend Angelica Silva. She dyed my hair for my engagement photos and wedding day and absolutely nailed it. Got so many compliments on my hair. Thank you, Angelica!!

I love this salon and Monica especially! She always makes great conversation and makes me feel beautiful in and out. She is great at giving tips on cuts that compliment your face, and tips on how to style at home. She is the best - love her and her energy lots. :)

Melody is professional and pleasant. She is knowledgeable and gives a great short hair cut. I get stopped in the streets almost daily, people asking me where I get my hair cut. Can not say enough good things about my experiences at Mecca Salon. Great location and easy parking too!

She is professional, transparent about price, and has accurately predicted color results each time I’ve gone through drastic color changes. She always delivers the color I want while keeping my hair healthy. She aims to make the .client experience the best it can possibly be, even if that means a silent appointment (although she is excellent at client rapport, so conversations are always welcome). Finally, Leah is constantly educating herself to provide the latest color and cut techniques. Whether you’re adventurous, or want something subtle, Leah can help you achieve your hair vision. Hold on to to your hair!cause from my recent experience with mecca salon for the second time was bad 😭 sent me just to have me in tears about the color they had died my hair. Red instead of just adding more highlights of blonde, thank God I didn't let her cut the back of my hair off, cause she messed up my bangs as it turned out. Bad bad bad! Stylist ripped conch piercing out during appointment and spent over 6 hours on my hair using 3 different toners on top of extensive bleaching. Left salon with wet hair in half done braid and directed to rinse out conditioner on my own at home. Salon dismissed my concerns after I disclosed photos per their request. I have multiple tones of blonde in hair including green in roots. Denied compensation or my cause for concern.

I am so extremely happy with my cut and color from Jody Kinney!! She is the absolute sweetest and went above and beyond for me. She listened to exactly what I wanted and the results are freaking amazing!! She even took the time to help teach me how to style my hair. Loved her, I highly recommend her! The salon was very cute as well and felt very welcoming. 10/10

I had not had my hair cut in two years. I booked an appt and was happy to be met with Mona, as my hairstylist. She washed my hair so thoroughly, gave advice about best products and she respected my wishes about keeping length! Here are some pictures just after and then after a shower just drying. It is one of my favorite haircuts! I didn’t really take pictures after without my face (lol) but the photo is almost a month after the hair cut and I just feel it is so soft and healthy, and so much more alive——keeping a lovely share—- and this is my hair just naturally drying after a shower. Overall, the salon as a whole seemed knowledge able and it’s an adorable salon. Mona is a joy to talk with and I appreciate all her hair advice and my very rejuvenating hair appointment. 🥰

I just moved to Sacramento and chose this salon based on other great reviews online. The entire experience could not have been better- honestly makes me wonder why every salon doesn't do things this way! Before I even stepped foot into Mecca Salon, the person booking me asked to see a couple of photos of my current hair and what I would like for it to look like so that she could match me with the best stylist for me based on the photos I had sent her (full balayage). This person was Jody! Jody could not have done a more fantastic job. She was somehow able to correct the bad color job I had gotten at another salon and made my dream hair come true. She listened to what I wanted, but also educated me and guided me on what would actually be feasible and healthy for my hair type and recent history of another color job, which I greatly appreciated. Highly recommend Jody at Mecca salon - the girl knows what she's doing.

I visited this salon for the first time recently, after moving to the area. I was nervous because i have very thick, coarse, unruly hair and only a small handful of people have been able to successfully style my hair in a way that’s flattering to my hair type, but Angelica completely put those fears to rest. She was very professional, sweet, fun to talk to, and she made sure i was 100% happy with my cut before i left. I’m so in love with my new hair ❤️ Will definitely be booking with her again in the near future!

I reccomend this hair salon. I had Monica and she was awesome. I have thick, dry, coarse hair and she took the time to talk about cuts and style and products. Wonderful conversation and an all around great experience. I will definately be returning to her.

I’ve been needing a haircut for a while but have been really hesitant because i can never find someone that knows how to work with curly hair. My friend recommended this place so I thought I’d give it a shot. I called ahead of time and asked them to accommodate my hijab by providing me with privacy in the salon and they were super receptive and understanding. The girl working at reception was SO NICE and welcoming from the moment I got there. Monica was the person cutting and styling my hair. I have been to a couple hair salons but I have never seen someone cut and care for hair the way Monica did. She was so meticulous and precise with the cutting, putting so much work and care into it considering how much hair I had her working with! She talked me through the steps and made sure I was happy with her work along the way. I felt very confident with her approach and was excited to see the final result. The entire process took around 2.5 hours from cutting, layering, conditioning, and detangling to styling and diffusing. Curly hair is really high maintenance and could go very wrong but I was soo happy with the results! Aside from her amazing work, Monica was sooo fun to talk to and made the whole appointment go by so fast! Everyone at this salon had such a kind and caring attitude, that I’m looking forward to my next trim or even getting some color in my hair.

After many months of trying to find a decent salon to go to, or one that would call to confirm/not cancel my appointment, I found Mecca. They called me the next morning after booking and asked me what type of hair I had, to gage the amount of time they would need. Devonney was the hairstylist I chose (on a whim) and she did not disappoint! & she played it safe -which is good when you’re dealing with a first time customer. About the hair: I didn’t realize it until after I watched the new season of stranger things, that the style I was going for, matched theirs. How embarrassing! Thankfully Devonney softened that look a little bit so I kept the mom vibes. Haha! Even though this is not my forever hair, I’m very happy with the results and this gave me a new idea for next time. Thank you Devonney for being available & for doing such a great job! I really appreciate it!

BAD customer service, rude, unprofessional employees including the senior ones. They don’t listen to the customers, don’t care about customers concerns, and just ready to chop your hair the way they want, and the style they want. You need to schedule an appointment, and still need to wait for almost an hour. They don’t think that cleanliness is important or cleaning after the previous customers is important, so they will be seating you on the chair which is dirty previously. They won’t pick up your call, and will never return your calls or voicemails, so don’t leave any. Their prices are skyrocketing, but unfortunately for a poor quality job, also their materials are not trustworthy, so be careful before letting them use it on your hair do ask them the side effects. My experience was not good at all, and I was very frustrated, and disappointed because they canceled my appointment, and then rescheduled without letting me know , so when I arrived, then I was told about it, but it was late because I drove for 35 minutes. But while I was there see a couple of mad customers, so glad I wasn’t their incompetency victim. Shame on you incompetent people 🤥🤥

I absolutely love Mecca Salon. Melody is amazing and so much fun to talk to. She does exactly what I ask every time I go in and is extremely respectful about length-anxiety. If you ask her to take off just a centimeter, she will do just that. Every other stylist I’ve seen is equally as charming and talented. I couldn’t recommend them enough ❤️

I always appreciate my hair cut appointments with Melody. I have really long thick indian hair and she always books adequate time to give a quality washing, cut, and style; something that is often neglected at other salons. Not only does she provide me a stylish layered cut, but also great conversation. I'm very finicky with who I allow to cut my hair and I am so happy I can put my trust in her.

I moved here 3 years ago and have been looking for my stylist. I am picky and I have a probably unhealthy connection to my hair. I usually cry when inches are being taken off. Mona was amazing. She was so patient, fun conversation, gives an AMAZING head massage while washing, fast and very talented. I found my stylist. Had a yummy blood orange beer and got the haircut I wanted. 11 stars

I went to get my hair done for graduation. Not only did I want to keep the length I just wanted a mild trim. What did I get for curly hair. I got a hair that went to my butt to hair that is above my boots. I wanted it to be styled I did not get that. Absolute worst hair cut ever and never want my hair to be this short again. Please listen to your customers when they want a trim not a full on hair cut!

This is my first review ever made but looking out for y’all is important, i wouldn’t want another girl to feel what I feel or have went through. I’ve been literally crying all day, it looks nothing like the image i showed her yet she assured me she knew what to do. She blamed it on the color and length of my hair to why it didn’t come out the way I wanted even though color is what she supposedly specializes in. I booked for the next day but she cancels my appointment without saying anything to me because she wasn’t “comfortable” with fixing my hair. It really hurts that she couldn’t be reasonable nor professional about it. And the place is so old and run down it looks like an antique shop. Please save yourself and just don’t do it.

While living in Sacramento for 3 years, this was my go to spot! Melody (the owner) is really passionate about her business and always makes time in her busy schedule to accommodate people/clients. The salon is always in clean condition, their products are all as natural as can be and I love that they stock Davines products (which have become a staple in my bathroom !). Thanks for taking care of my crazy hair Mecca!
