While on my birthday vacation, this week in Charlotte, NC. I decided to take a break from wearing my wigs. Ms. Meda Colon was available on short notice to get me booked for a braid-down. I was very impressed with her braiding skills, as I find my hair a challenge to style. She had me braided and styled in under 90mins. She is definitely gifted with blessed hands. I also want to “shout-out” Kenya, for the wonderful recommendation today at First Watch restaurant during my birthday brunch today.

Horrible customer service! Braids all different sizes! Owner is very unprofessional. I’d never recommend anyone to go to this place. Building is filthy as well. Edit: I’d never try to run out of a salon without paying! I didn’t receive the service I asked for. The work was very sloppy. The customer service was horrible. I sat an hour before they started on my hair. I let them know I didn’t like the work. They refused to fix it so I Asked them to take the braids out the owner was very upset and snappy with me because her employee gave me sloppy work! I never leave reviews but this place was horrible and super unprofessional

I got my hair braided here today & I had the best experience. Both the ladies were so kind & sweet. They took their time on my hair & Meda showed me some braid options for thin edges. I will continue to come here monthly & I will also bring my sister. I went to the beauty supply store after I left the shop & I received so many compliments! I love the way my braids turned out. Definitely will be back.

I have been going here for the last 2yrs and Medu has always done my hair she the only one I let do it…I’ve yet to have a bad experience here and the babies have always been good when I was there and I even brought the babies snacks! Babies cry that’s what they do! But again I’ve been going here for 2 years and each visit has been pleasant and I’ve always liked how my hair turned out! I if I had to wait it was no more than 10/15min!

I went to get large box braids but I ended up with Jumbo sized and the job was rushed! My parts are crooked and my hair looks nothing like the picture I picked out! Not very pleased!

This place has roaches and gross and had a crying baby the entire time of my experience. I was there for over 6 hours, and the braider kept stopping to talk to another braider, which also took so long for medium-sized straight back braids for them to look sloppy and rushed as the ending results. And then braids were sewed down so that on each side of her ear hid that she ran out of enough of my daughters hair to be braided down. And then they wanted to charge me $110!!!! I usually go to the Motherland on South Tryon but wanted to try a different braider bc they were booked, and my daughter really needed her hair braided. BIG mistake!

I called them to see if i could come in today to get my hair braided because they close at 12am. The girl asked me when was i trying to come? I told her today, she then told me i needed to make an appointment. I didnt know why i had to make one seeing the fact that they close at 12am. I asked her what time do they close? Because on the website it states at 12am. Her response was "No we don't, we close when the last person leaves". I then said "Well i should just come in right"? She say's "No, you have to make an appointment". PSA: DO NOT BELIEVE THEY'RE RESPONSE, THEY ARE JUST TRYING TO KEEP NEW CUSTOMERS COMING. THEY WERE VERY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS VERY POOR.

I have to say this is my now permanent salon. Not only is the owner humble but the price was affordable and not through the roof. I went in for weave on and the outcome was exactly as I envisioned. I walked out more confident then I went in. I will be definitely coming back. The owner is so humble and kind and makes you feel at home though she is a stranger. Pls note, it’s the same entrance as the the living church that’s along the same road. You might miss it but if you see a church, that’s the entrance to the small shopping center.
